I'm 6'1 so I'm between a large and xl frame. I ordered the xl 29in. First thing I did to mine was put Chester peddles on it, and put some fifty-fifty grips on the handlebars. I plan on upgrading the fork and breaks soon. So far, I'm happy with the bike. It does what I need it to. I'm glad I got this over the Marlin.
The Microshift Advent series is getting lots of good reviews. My understanding is there is Advent 9 and Advent X. Usually 7-9 derailleurs are compatible with the corresponding shifter, but 10 is not. I've been digging thru Hardtail Party's videos for modern/slack geometry bikes. Great content.
I’m 5-10, my buddy is 6’. I’d say you really need to try both, I prefer slightly bigger and seems to me larges hold their value better used than medium
Hey! Uhm I had one question,I herd you say it was more of an XC bike would you stil recommend it for stuf in between of a bit trail and small jumps to XC? GREAT VIDEO BTW!!
I’ve been deciding between the Rockhopper Comp and Marlin 6 (both 2022) and the differences feel subtle. Personally i believe the Marlin has slightly better specs but i preferred how the specialized felt while riding. Ended up getting the specialized.
@@TranslateToEnglish no and I own a 2021 Roscoe 7. The higher end Marlins were on my short list of purchases, I just personally don’t think the 6 is as good as the Rockhopper. Just my opinion.
I've just picked a new one up for 420 dollars equivalent...so if you're getting a Marlin 6 for 200 less well done ;-) with bikes its the price you get not the retail that matters. Not that the Marlin 6 is a bad choice
How can you review a bike you do not ride on the trail? You just read us the specs. I can read. How about you ride different bikes and compare them. That's an idea.

That’s what I figured. Thanks for watching.
Was looking into one of these in 2022 they're 1000.00 now. First"Mountain bike" have a few BMX bikes. Just looking into something different
Wow bike prices going crazy these days
@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks yeah no kidding. Decided to just enjoy what I have. Everything is wayyyyy overpriced at the moment
Any recommendations for a good fork to upgrade to? I like the lockout ability, but people keep saying there are better forks.
Isn't this the same advent derailleur that is compatible with thei11-r 46t cassette- also a 9 speed so no hub change???
youd have to double check the website
Nice bike and really nice review! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks man for the review because am looking at buying one, 2nd hand and looks brand new 🙂
Wow, nice bike, I really like it!
Yes it is!
What’s the difference between a comp and sport. I just ordered the comp but I’m doubting if it was worth the extra $200
I believe its mainly the 1x drivetrain. Definitely worth it.
What did you guys do for upgrades for this bad boy?
Pedals
Can you turn these rims tubless
Yes
Does anyone know the internal bottom bracket measurement?
These are the specs for the bottom bracket,
Square-tapered, 73mm, internal bearings, 122.5mm spindle
Yes they do it has a rock shock on it for 100 dollars more
probably worth the $100
Does it make sense to install a SRAM SX 2021 ?
Probably if you plan on keeping it or you got a good deal on either one....
Awesome! Whats your height,, im 5'9" and im between the Large and the Medium, thanks !

Technically its considered an XC bike....yes I would definitely recommend it for stuff like that. Its a great in between bike
Thank you, helpful video!
Which one would you recommend: Rockhopper 29 comp, Marlin 5/6? (2022) Thank you!

Weight? Please
Not sure and didnt see it on the website...
Its pretty light from the front, i have the bike
@MickeyRides no way
A better choice is the Trek Marlin 6. It has the same components but will cost you $200 less. BTW- I own both.
Ima have to disagree on that one.
@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks do you work for Specialized? Have you ever ridden the Marlin 6? If so, where is your review?
