I've been binge watching your videos or just running the playlist for half of the day but THIS is what hit home so much for my current situation. Let me explain it: I buy books in bunches because I really want them but in the end I don't open them to read them because books have such a high standard in my mind. They are too "holy" for me to open them, read them, ruin their spines and oh my god I would never use a pen or pencil on them. I can't break through this except for taking your advice to finally remove the high standard of "holyness" of them and to just read them.
I read the sample for Big Magic and it's on my to buy list because of what I read really inspired me and I like the way she writes.
That really hit home! I am an artist specializing in realism and I have had a picture on my easel for several months. I just cant seen to be able to make myself work on it for fear of messing it up! I know the client is patiently waiting for her picture! Thanks for this! ~Mary

Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me. I love reading so much and since I was 12, I wanted to write books. Yet I only ended up writing book reviews. I'm currently 18 now. I have a lot of story ideas on my draft - each getting more complicated and interesting but I could not give my all. Sure, I've written the basic summary and the best climax, but writing a story, a novel - I just can't. Maybe I'm too lazy to start writing, sure. But also I don't have the eureka moment when I want to write. Thank you for this. I will try again.
1.do what you are called to do and usually what you are afraid to do
2.it's imposible to have too much reverence for art
3.you don't have to publish it.But you must create it
4.you have to be able to sit through the tedious work
I think the high expectations and your taste are the hardest part. You have this great image in your head and you know your end product will fall short (until you have put in thousands of hours at what you are trying to do). So rather than not create the amazing piece exactly as you want it to be, you don't do it at all. Hard one to get past, but we gotta try.

wow, I love to write out stories, shorts, and books, but life gets in the way for me to do it, or my mind sight goes against me (by caring too much). Now I'm just going to go for it and enjoy my work.

Hi aileen I was in bed last night and I realised how much you have inspired me and over the last year I used to be this little girl who no one liked and just sat by my self and thought every thing was wrong with me but then i found your channel and it inspired me so much to change myself . From this shy little girl to this confident girl who loves every thing about my self . Last year I was getting bullied really bad and it got to the point that they started to hit me and by this year I can stand up for my self and now I am not getting bullied but my friend is and she watches your channel her name is emma she won't listen to me but Mabey she will listen to you can you help me and her . And it has came to the point where it is physical can you help her please you helped me .

As for your friend, it's tough because you can't change people unless they themselves want to change. Your friend has to be open to it, and she needs to learn to believe in herself, that she is a beautiful, strong, and capable human being who is worthy. She doesn't deserve to be put down, ever. She needs to realize that she is in control of her life-she is the captain-and she gets to decide whether she wants to empower herself as the strong person she is, or if she wants to continue to be passive about life and allow others to disempower her. Only she can make her own decisions. But she has tons of love and support, for example in true friends like yourself. I hope for the best. Keep me updated!

Ah, this is great. I'm going to check out the book. I am in a dry spell right now. I am a photographer and right now I'm lacking serious inspiration. I think my problem is I want to shoot certain photos that I'm not geographically able to shoot right now (I'm down in San Diego and I've been getting inspiration from the English countryside.. lol)... But I'm basically just bored of what I've been shooting and doing and I need to mix it up but that is where I'm in my slump because I don't know where to go from here. I also take my photos way too seriously. I am a virgo perfectionist and there are many photos that I scrap for the silliest reasons but I can't help it... I'd also like to shoot with other people but I need to find them first. See my problem. :P

+Agora Beth thank you! I appreciate that you checked out my music ^_^ This was a dilemma that I struggled with for the past few years, but now I have more clarity. I want to make this lifestyle blog my career.. I hope to grow Lavendaire into a major inspirational brand with a full website, community, book(s), maybe even events or courses? I'm not sure yet. I've always loved music and I always will. The way I see it is, my blog is my business and music is my art, something that I can create & enjoy just for myself and no one else. Lavendaire is all about creating your dream life as an "artist of life" - and music as my artistic expression is a part of my dream life as well :)
I love that idea and I definitely think it is achievable for you! You have all the makings of a wonderful, inspired CEO and I cant wait to see how far you fly! :)

If possible, could you share with us your process on how you create/write your music? Programs you use or programs we could use for those on a budget? Copyright with music, etc. I only have an android and have found some apps to get started with music but I'm sure there's other things out there I could be missing.
