I like her on both, but I agree that she's really a fine voice actor and perhaps some of the roles on radio were more varied than the later popular Crawford "vehicles" in movies.
Joan was amazing.. both episodes she did are at the top of my all-time faves. It's that ability to go from slightly insane or frustrated to so gentle u want to comfort her. The saddest thing is, that even tho this is fiction, there are too many people in the world who are truly alone, and feel unwanted and unloved. I try and remind myself as often as possible how lucky I am to have loving family and friends.
Joan knew that chill, brisk evenings with dramatic sunsets compete with changing October leaves for brilliant color! Now is the time for ghost stores she'd say! Perhaps two radio play ghost stories I’ve produced AND a brand new mystery listed on my channel “Claude Chabot Presents” right here on YT AND a radio fantasy comedy, “A Trip to the Moon” starring Joyce Randolph of The Honeymooners. Here’s the link: ua-cam.com/video/Hex2ltykNTM/v-deo.html--Claud. If you don’t want to click the link just search “Claude Chabot presents” on UA-cam.

@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Yes, she even tried with "Trog." You'd think they could have given her something with taste at the end of her career. Probably her best is "Humoresque" but love "Mildred" very much and also "Rain" which she said she hated. All of her radio work is very vivid...it really stands out. I work at home and I listen to these as I write, but some of them like this, I have to stop and really listen to. Great restoration, too!
@@zero_bs_tolerance8646 that's the beauty of so many good episodes! You can come back in a few months to enjoy them again. I still create a playlist for myself every night.
This is a GREAT episode! Joan Crawford does an outstanding job playing a real nutcase! It seems she was in life a real nut, so the “acting” was not too difficult for her! Don’t mean to speak ill of her, we all have our faults and trials in life, and things we must try to overcome. She was a fine actress - RIP. Best to Everyone.

Joan Crawford was a little insane which added to her acting! My theory has always been that it helps to be crazy to be an actor or a poet or an artist! 🤯
I love these radio dramas! Thanks so much for posting! Joan did a great job in this. Hmmmm wondering if she did a better job in radio than movies because she wasn't as self conscious about how she looked. Just wondering.

What a fabulous performance!! Joan Crawford is the consummate performer, on radio, on screen and stage. Thanks. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
She was exceptional. Thanks for posting your thoughts!
Never listened to this in entirety. Joan's really berserk in this one. Nice! You know what I mean.
I think I like Joan better on radio than film... Imagination is everything and Joan has a great voice to stir up imagination... 💃💖
I think so too!

Violet Femme Amen! 👍
Awwwww I know. She makes me want to wrap a blanket around her and give her a cup of tea.

She's really quite impressive in this. Every time I listen to it I like it more.
Not all film actors could do voice acting, which makes her all that more impressive.
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered so true
Me too! She is the best voice actor I've heard so far. I love listening to these! (For me personally Judy Garland is a close runner up)
Joan Crawford is excellent
Wow! Crawford was great in this. She did "unhinged" quite well.
I totally agree!

Back when in your forties was deemed ancient.
Joan was a great voice actor, wasn't she? She does this well...no wonder she did "Berserk!" years later.
No doubt, Claud. Not all film actors could do voice acting - remember, this was recorded live. I've seen most of her films, too. A great actress.

Joan crawford was amazing on the big screen, small screen, and the radio
Love this, thank you.

9:14 AND HIS BOX OF WIRE HANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Not the WIRE HANGERS!!!!!😲😲
Would you have "Stand In" from Suspense with June Havoc in HQ? Thank you
She had a clear speaking voice, I wish some young female actors of today were as clear.
"Good ole Mr.Wilson."
Joan does good "insane"

You write an individual description??! Really?? Where is it??! 🤣😂
You caught me with a little self promotion!
That doesn't sound like Joan Crawford to me.
How not?
