Look up performance of the GPD G1, OneXGPU, or any of the other 7600M XT EGPU devices (there are so many). They should have similar performance over USB4... without knowing what Thunderbolt or USB4 chipset they are using, that's the best we can do without direct testing.
I really want to see something more powerful in these eGPU docks. This is like the 4th company to come out with one of these with the same GPU. Something like a RX 7800M would be nice.
@@asianboy2060 I can buy a PS5 + 2 games for 600 bucks, seems more worth it than this? also $599 seems to be pre-order price, otherwise it will be $699.
These all in one GPU docks make far more sense than having a behemoth desktop GPU sitting on your desk with big wires all over the place and the fans sucking up all the dust in the room.
Adding my suggestion in along with others asking for Le-Go on USB4. I did some hunts on the Wilds Beta last week and, while impressed that it was playable, I may be in the market for something like this to avoid carting my giant ROG Strix around. Something small and aesthetic like this would work nicely for my living-room setup (which is where the Go sits when not in the case). Thanks for the video!
If you did a USB four on the Lenovo go without using an external monitor, that would be great. I would love to see performance staying in a portable layout.
you're gonna take a performance hit. since the data needs to be sent to the gpu then back to the device; you'll get nearly a 50% hit in your performance compared to just hooking it up to a monitor
@ that’s OK, I bought it to be portable. And yet it still is going to be better than anything that comes out next year despite the performance loss. And it’s not an exact 50% across the board. Depends on how you try to use it if you’re trying to max performance on a triple AAA game possibly. The performance boost makes it worthwhile when not able to use a desktop away from home… or too lazy on the couch. The versatility for how I can use it makes it worthwhile to me.
Yeah I'd love to see USB4 content. Im getting rid of an MSI stealth gaming laptop with a 3060 and hoped I could get maybe get some occasional larger display play with a good egpu added to my Legion. It's seriously the best and I love it but sometimes I wish I could go crazy on an ultra wide or just a larger display
I would love to see a comparison with USB4, I have the 890Pro and have 2x4TB drives in it. I would prefer not to lose storage to have the dock via oculink.
Pretty cool, kind of feel like they should have made a mini pc to pair to it that mounts together to make it one connected piece. However, I get that it's meant to work with several options for versatility. I just think it would be a nice look on the desk as a single stack of some kind and they could really lean into that namesake lol.
Should start to compare those eGPU results. Specially using USB4. Since this is a Ayaneo card should at least make one test in Ayaneo products. Just ideas for new videos.
it's the first decent external gpu on the market i think.I mean it's really portable(not the external gpu enclousre), no needs for external supply and it's really capable of run games.
It definitely looks really cool, if you already own a newer handheld i think it might be worth it. I wouldn't recommend anyone go out and buy both this and a handheld, for the money you could find a decent gaming laptop that'll outperform the setup and still be all in one mobile solution.
Hello ETA! Love your content, have been following you for years! I would like to know if you would recommend this for the upcoming AYA NEO 3 Revo (just announced). I really want to know whether it's worth buying for docking gaming experience, pros and cons and all around convenience of having one of these. I also have the ayaneo air multi docking station and wondered could this gpu be connected via that, or what is the best set up, thank you!
As usual from Ayaneo, looks amazing. Somehow it reminds me of the Hit-Bit MSX machines Sony made near the end of the 1980's, like the HB-F1 and HB-F1XD. Very retro-futuristic. Too bad about the price though. Again, as usual from Ayaneo it's way too rich for me.
This dock is honestly amazing but you definitely need a high end processor to get the most out of it id say the setup is smaller than allot of small form factor full PCs
@@markdove5930 Why? I really want to know. The next smartphones will have the Snapdragon Elite, which is also used in notebooks. If this graphics dock works with those smartphones, I won't need a regular PC, just a smartphone and a graphics dock.

I'd SEE that alot of people want to use this with the ally x but what about msi claw, it's cheaper and I think it would be a better pair for a budget desktop experience
Hey ETA, I would like you to test the USB 4 performance with any 680 handheld device that you have in your possession/inventory paired up with the lossless scaling app. Thank you in advance.
Also Steam Deck would be significantly bottlenecked by CPU (power + thermal) performance, so the improvement would be marginal with anything above rtx 4050
Looks cool, if it had a proper Nvidia graphics card in it, it'd be useful. It's a crying shame they don't seem to want people (maybe outright forbid them?) to make Nvidia desktop eGPU boxes.
Can you boot off the external m.2? I am dying to see someone try a M.2 to Occulink card in the Legion Go and then try to boot off the m.2 in one of these Egpu. I am betting it would work.
i wish i didn't buy a 3070 right in the middle of the bitcoin/corona chip craze. spent 1000€ on that thing and now its struggling with forza because 8gb vram is not enough for that game.
600 Dollar for a 7600xt which costs below 400 Dollar is insane on top comes that it's a cut down 7600xt with half the vram I get that it's also a Dock but come on charging 200 Dollar for a basic as Dock that can't even be reused cause it's some proprietary thing with most likely a custom Mobile Chip yeah no thants I would rather get a less pretty Dock that at least has upgradability. I mean that's the big plus for Desktop PC's the upgrade path you have why would you go for laptop stuff might as well just buy a laptop at that point. Oh also not calling it USB C-4 was one hell of a missed opportunity xD
I’m thinking about getting the Ally X so i would like to see the USB 4 performance.
Yeah, I’m curious if it would work with the Lenovo go as well without an external monitor

@@quicsilver524 why would ever want this for a legion go that isnt docked, i have one and that sounds stupid, a monitor gives you way more performance
This straight up looks like something from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
That’s probably the point. The design is certainly aimed at a young demographic, but they sure as hell can’t afford it, haha.

It’s just not worth the total cost. I’ve looked at these for my LeGo and all of these eGPUs insist on being a $500+ dock.
