I love this! From my personal experiences as a barber this career really can change your life for the better. I really hope all these young men find success in this trade!
The first time I want to jail ,I watched a guy cut the tip of dude's ear off ! 😒I came home went barber school that was in 92 it was a life changer because I was going nowhere fast , now I still love this trade so glad God blessed me with jail to set me on another path ya keep the faith 🙏
In early 1980s Div. 6 was for high bonds and no bond guys. I was in Div 6 for 8 mos. Had my hair cut by guy who was a contract murderer. I was not concerned. He after 26yrs in prison he passed away.
These are the types of programs more jails need across the nation to recuperate people into finding an alternative life style then those previously lived cause obviously those didn’t help. They can find self worth, purpose, and a skill that can definitely give them a boost as they head for the door. This should’ve blew up on UA-cam, the prison system has some for convicts even with life sentences giving stability to that prisoner and making the environment more safe for the guards by providing something for the inmates to do instead of being locked up all day in their rooms.
Alot of people make mistakes in a fraction of a second without thinking. That define who that person really is. Most first and second time offenders do small none violent crimes. May be addicted to drugs may need diapers for there child so shop lifting. No one knows how hard life like us city kids that come from broken homes without parents. I praise the program any program that helps people like us to do better in life is truly a Blessing.....
All those SOB's are bad people! they attacking guards. You should have listened to your parents and went to school to learn something instead of focusing on crime and violence.
You watch. These guys are gonna end up being some of the top barbers in the Chi! At least they want to be rehabilitated unlike so many at 26th and California that go in and out or are gangbangin’., didn’t learn anything during their time in jail or prison.
Larry is an inspiration. he is changing so many peoples lives. 🙏

Shout out to Guyton, damn good officer.
Seems like a good program! People do make mistakes and
need a second chance!
Their slogan should be "we're here 24 hours a day everyday".
