It's mind boggling to think of how much African Music has influenced music in the Americas.
throwindembows Africans were shipped here and retained a great deal of cultural links to Africa.
the diaspora always in conversation w each other n the most common way we converse is thru music
The whole wide world I’d say, without African Music there is no music on this planet AT ALL…
That Soul Makossa fact just blew my mind. . .
3:11 Same here
When I saw the title of the video, what came to mind was a doctor telling flylo that the test results were in: "The DNA test has revealed that you are in fact African" or something, and than flylo being totally shocked. "You mean...I'm BLACK??"
It was really funny in my head
whaaat? Stevie Wonder, Badu and Fly-lo all have roots in my homeland? this is Amazing.

Very interesting convoy 👑
Realize that those countries' borders didn't even exist 200 years ago... At the time his ancestors were taken as slaves there might not have been any entity named "Cameroon."
Tribal ancestry is more important anyway, all of those tribes moved around the continent anyway.
Wobbo yeah, I believe some tests also break it down by tribes
Great INFO!!
So Flying Lotus didn't know about Manu Dibango? How did he made it this far?
do more of these videos
Just to clarify you the Tikar's are not found in the center Region Of Cameroon. they are found in the North West Region Of Cameroon in the town OF Bamenda

very cool
i feel like if flying lotus went to africa and played his music, their minds would explode lol
No wonder, he has music in his blood literally!
I LOVE SOUTHERN CAMEROON Aka Bamenda
watch flylo go back and sample all that african music ahahah
This is great! I just don't understand why they are citing only one area of origin. A person has so many ancestors and the trans-Atlantic trade mixed people from various ethnic origins.
breea07 Okay, thanks for the info. I will read more about this.
All humanity came from entire Africa ...
breea07 It's also another reason or the thinking behind the passage through the matrilineal that the creator may be a goddess.
Shut UP Fucking white dude.
+breea07 actually there is a way now through the Y chromosome DNA from your father.
Anybody know if Boima & FlyLo have released any collabs from this?
1:26 that yellow thing
Tikar .cool.
this is great i think everyone should be able to trace their roots luckily i'm half african myself so i dont have to trace that far lol
every person! were all descendants of Africa
Only those that are black or mixed
@@donathan2933 Some science magazine said that all humans can be traced back to a woman that lived in Africa many thousands of years ago.
@@bonethugsfiend I rlly wanna disagree with that
WAKEY Wakey FlyLO
Ya you see how Pacman says "Wakka Wakka"? Ya that was stolen.
Until the Quiet Comes
Cameroon 1-0 Argentina.World Cup 1990.
What is that beside the moog ???? , looks like a ufo
i think its some kind of lamp
Its very nice
H Houben just search for "ufo disco lamp" on google, im sure youll find something similar :D
Thanks , i bought one , its from grundig haha
I wonder if someone like me could afford this lol
+Capri Ramsey It's around $99 on Ancestry and 23andme.
but is not the same like african ancestry that you just saw on the video the test you saw is from african ancestor and it cost $300 plus it is more accurate and it tells you the exact tribe and the place you are from.
good shit, really though.
chief boima !
hahaha yes!!!
Hey...tax season is comin up! BUT, how many of will DO iT??
WOAAAHHH FLYING LOTUS HAS AFRICAN BLOOD?!?! I COULDN'T TELL
Genetics has nothing to do with this, just your influence growing up and skills you acquire. It's cool to find out about your history, but saying he is just genetically bred to be a good artist is kind of ignorant.
TheGoodChap this is true. African Americans are a blended ethnic group of European and Native blood and cultural influences as well. I don’t like when people overlook the fact that we created our totally own thing such as the hip hop, blues, rock, funk, disco, house, etc.
Black Afrikan music
in my opinion americans are americans it will all be one tanish ethnicity here eventualy aniways
If the Tikar people come from Sudan the name Sudan means land of Yuda that's what the uda in Sudan means, Yuda= JUDAH the Tikar are the Ancient Israelites to the true Hebrews.Thats why the Capitol of Cameroon is YAOUNDE Translation YAHUDA /JUDAH. you have been Educated ,you're welcome. Shalom.
Am a Tikar From and In Cameroon we are not in the Center Region Of Cameroon we are Found in the North West Region OF Cameroon in the Town Of Bamenda. we are the Only people Group in Cameroon who are not Bantu's . Yaounde and 80% Of Cameroon is Inhabited By Bantu's . We are So distinct thats why we was not colonise By the French But By the British. We are also the most Rebellious People Group In Cameroon. Bamenda
Ndonue Takwi. You not the only Cameronian right here what you are saying is rubbish, you don't know nothing about history
haha
