Back when this song came out, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham were Lovers for many years. Fleetwood Mac was a great Band, but the Drama inside of it was insane, and their songs reflected the actual events, and Romantic Breakups and everything else going on. These two settled their differences like a Divorced couple that become friends. They came together to do this one concert, and their Love (not Romantic anymore) for one another as lifelong friends. This was such a sweet moment for those two, the fans of Fleetwood Mac, and everyone involved in their lives. She was singing this to Lindsay playing the guitar right next to him. Did you see him start to tear up at the end? I almost cried myself. Glad they are good friends still.

I cannot physically listen to this song without crying. I cry every single time, no matter what. It’s just such a beautiful song that is so deeply melancholy to me…love Fleetwood Mac ❤️
My God what a beautiful song with these two. Her voice is an instrument by itself. She is timeless. 500 years from now someone will still be listening to it and touching them like it does me
Yeah, this one is relatable to everyone, b/c everyone grows old and moves through their live. As a mom, "the children get older" part hits hard for me. Stevie is a badass though.
Yes! Yes! Yes! My husband of 40 years and I stood with our arms around each other singing this song with Stevie Nicks live in concert a few years ago. We both are Fleetwood Mac fans from way back.
Stevie is one of a kind she’s amazing live in concert .... you can’t sit down for sure !!!!! She the only female in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice as a group and a solo artist
That little nod and half-smile she does when she sings "I'm getting older too"; this was taped I believe on or the day after her 50th birthday....she had some 'iffy" feelings about reaching that milestone.
I'm always speechless when I hear this song (that I've been listening to for decades) and it STILL puts tears in my eyes, everytime!! I can say, too, that I appreciate it more and more as time goes by and my children get older (they're 21 and 28)...gets me every time!! Thank you for reacting to it and I'm so happy you guys love it too!!
I know the story behind this but and as beautiful as it is, it's has a very different story for me. When my Mom was in the hospital, very ill, I drove 50 miles, every evening to spend the night with her. I listened to this song many times during my drive. It was during winter and snow blanketed the landscape. My thoughts were often about my childhood and how much my Mom had done for not just me, but all 7 of her children. I realized that I had built my life around her and was happy and grateful that I did. I lost my beautiful, sweet little Mom on April 11, 1999. This is one of the 3 songs that I played as we laid her to rest. Time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting older too.
The two of them (Stevie & Lindsey on guitar) have SO MUCH history that it's almost uncomfortable watching them perform together. Heartbreak, vulnerability & memories all collide. Beautiful song... haunting performance. Diggin' y'alls reaction to this one.
After my dad past away.. when i was 9 he was lost at sea, my mom used to sing me this song, or play it. This song has so much meaning to me and i cry and think about my mom for everytime she has been there for me.
Fleetwood Mac was a British Blues band that made a lot of great albums long before Stevie Nicks joined. It was formed in 1967 by Peter Green, one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Check out "Oh, Well" or "Black Magic Woman" (later covered by Santana) to hear what the original band sounded like. Also highly recommend the song "Hypnotized" when the Fleetwood Mac line up included Bob Welch and Christine McVie (also pre-Nicks)
The song is so emotional between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham because he's the one she's singing about having built her life around. They got together romantically and musically in high school. They had a band together Buckingham Nicks in their early 20s. Fleetwood Mac asked Buckingham to join the band, and he said not without Nicks. They had a blowup right before making their second album with Fleetwood Mac, the seminal Rumours. Much of the great music by Fleetwood Mac is the band writing about the personal drama with each other. Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie write the lyrics and take turns on lead vocals, and they're often writing about each other. Dreams is another song written by Nicks about Buckingham. This video was done at a good point in the relationship between Nicks and Buckingham, so you can see them emotional about the song written decades earlier. But now they're in a bad place again and Nicks got Buckingham kicked out of the band. Listen to The Chain next, as it is all about the drama within the band and them deciding to stay together anyway. The band was the chain that kept them together.
she starts the song with ... this one is for you daddy .... it more about coming of age and growing up .. a daddies' girl.... and can she go about her life without being afraid and on her own
I love how even though they have history they’ve managed to get past it and remain friends so we can witness and hear such beautiful music. I really loved how his timing was governed by the way she sang it, true musicians. Thanks for reacting to this you two lovely people 🙏🥰🇦🇺
Most bands wrote their own songs together back then. You got a glimpse of their relationships, insights and personalities. It was real. Also, when you bought the actual physical music, you bought an entire album of songs produced at the same time. You got to see the band’s progression and transitions over time. Also there were liner notes and photos that as a fan you would read and analyze over and over. Today’s music lovers are’s missing out on a lot!
This song is amazing. I've loved it ever since I was a teenager but the older I get, the more it resonates with me. I too lost my daddy to cancer and yeah--I had to learn to deal with that too. As for as Stevie Nicks--well there's a WHOLE history between she and the guitarist Lindsay Buckingham. The song is about her relationship with him--and moving on from him. They were lovers and some of their most popular and best songs were about their contentious relationship--ok--they broke up and wrote some songs totally denouncing each other. There's another couple in the band too--Christine McVie and John McVie. They had been married but later divorced and then there's the drummer Mick Fleetwood. Fleetwood Mac is my husband's favorite band and Christine McVie is his favorite. This is the band that made him love music so much that he learned to play guitar and started to write his own songs. Now, he's in a band, writing his own songs and he has his own youtube show and it all started with listening to Fleetwood Mac.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Stevie, and of course Fleetwood Mac, there were three prolific songwriters in this group and they all had some great hits, I hope you follow up. Check out Silver Springs off the same album, The Dance.
"This is for you Daddy" Stevie and her daddy discussed 6 months that Stevie would try and make it as a musician. Her daddy went into the hospital the day before she recorded this. This is for you Daddy
The troubles that Fleetwood Mac went through in 1975/76 are legendary. The guitar player here is Lindsay Buckingham and he and Stevie were a couple and were recording artists before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Lots of Coke and lots of ups and downs....
Fleetwood Mac - the relationships and breakups made this band what they were. They poured their emotions into their work and then performed them together. Amazing stuff.
Stevie nicks is probably one my favourite female vocalists of all time ... she started writing when she was young at wrote this song at around 17 .. the fact that she could have the sensitivity create something that touches so many people so deeply at that age should tell you the kind of artist she would go on to be
Every time I hear Stevie, I get happy memories of her sitting at the kitchen table listening to her music, and it brings a smile to my face, and also tears because I miss her. Thanks for reacting to this.
I just love your energy as a couple! Amber...I feel you on this song reminding you of your Dad! It reminds me of losing my Dad too. I'm new to the channel and am enjoying the journey!
This song was written before they were Fleetwood Mac. Stevie and the guitarist (Lindsey Buckingham) were high school sweethearts and by this time, and she was working 2 jobs to support them, and working on music at night, while he tried to get them into the industry. They went to Aspen, and she was at the point where she was thinking they were going to break up, she was going to have to go back home, start college and get a job. Within a year, they joined with Mick Fleetwood to create the band. Stevie and Lindsey would later break up but continued with the band (not smoothly) for decades until she threw him out of the group a couple years after they did this. But, throwing members out of the band before reuniting is also part of this bands drama filled history. The price of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
You should meet The Pearl! Janis Joplin...may she rest in peace. Try "Try" or "Little Girl Blue" "Cry Baby" or anything she ever recorded! Albert King called her "The Queen of the Blues"
This may be my favorite reaction video OF ALL TIME, and I've watched a lot of them. You guys are sincere, and honest, emotional and smart. I appreciate the reaction to one of my all-time favorite songs.
This song brings back so many childhood memories! Riding in the car with my Mom driving, and singing along with this song beautifully! Times were so much simpler, and more gentle. Thanks!!!!
Stevie Nicks and the guitar player Lindsey Buckingham were a couple when they joined the band, had an ugly split, both wrote a couple nasty songs about each other, his 1st (go your own way) then hers (Dreams) and came together as great friends in the end. Not to mention the other affairs within the band..
One thing I love about watching these reactions is the naivite you have, which is totally justified given your musical histories. Your question about what was the relationship between Stevie and the guitar player is priceless. The answer: it's almost a Shakespearean-level comedy (as comedy in his time is defined) which has been argueably credited as the creative spark behind their most successful albums (and I'm not diminishing the energy flowing from the meltdown of the other band members relationships). It was epic!!!
Nicks admits she had doubts about her relationship with Buckingham. “And we’re going to end up breaking up, and everything we worked for is going to be done and it’s all going to be for nothing, That’s really what the song ‘Landslide’ is about.”
That's Lindsey Buckingham next to her and they started off with Buckingham and Nicks and then went their own ways. Both of them highly talented. And she singing to him about him.
If you want another female singer from the 70's - an iconic song - Janis Ian - Seventeen - completely beautiful and relatable song to all youth of the time

Amber, even though Stevie wrote this song about her relationship with Lindsey (the guitarist) when they were young, she sometimes dedicates it to her father when she performs it. He loved it too. I'm sorry for the loss of your father. I wish you'd had him longer. My dad's very elderly now (& as Stevie sang, I'm getting older too) & I know I'm lucky to still have him. But I'm painfully aware of time running out. I appreciate that you two appreciated the beauty of this song. In the early days there were rock groups and on the other side were those who were influenced by the hippie generation such as Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, in Australia we had the seekers. So this group were a bit of a mixture. Stevie presented herself as witchy and mysterious. A huge role model for many women at the time.
Great reaction! Subscribed! More Fleetwood Mac Feels!
Stevie is one of a kind she’s amazing live in concert .... you can’t sit down for sure !!!!! She the only female in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice as a group and a solo artist
Huge Fleetwood fan... For not really knowing about them, you both gave a great review! Thanks for your channel, I'm really loving it.
There is actually 2 female singers in Fleetwood Mac, Kristie Mcvie is also in the band and sings lead on some songs.
Christine
Songbird is one of my favorites
🤗💗🤗
"hold fast"! (1Thess.5 :21)
The two of them (Stevie & Lindsey on guitar) have SO MUCH history that it's almost uncomfortable watching them perform together. Heartbreak, vulnerability & memories all collide. Beautiful song... haunting performance. Diggin' y'alls reaction to this one.
This song makes me think about my mom who has passed and my kids and our lives and how they've grown and have kids. Always brings a tear to my eye.
She’s singing about the guitarist, when they were a duo starting out in their twenties.
After my dad past away.. when i was 9 he was lost at sea, my mom used to sing me this song, or play it. This song has so much meaning to me and i cry and think about my mom for everytime she has been there for me.
One of my favorite FM songs ever… y’all remind me of how lucky I was to grow up in that era of music! So glad yall are discovering it too…
Fleetwood Mac was a British Blues band that made a lot of great albums long before Stevie Nicks joined.
She and Lindsey had a very long, turbulent relationship. She wrote this song while in the mountains reflecting on their relationship
you two are adorable...glad you appreciate so many styles of great music
Amber, you need to hear: SILVER SPRINGS by Fleetwood Mac. It’s a tour de force performance!!
Ooo before I forget, take a listen to a tune by Bette Middler "The Rose" it's incredible and I believe you will really be moved by it.
You really want to cry? Listen to "Hello In There" by Bette Midler.
Time After Time, either the faster or slower version. Great tune by Cyndi Lauper.
If you do a Cyndi Lauper song it should be “When You Were Mine” written by Prince!
This is an amazing song! Her family loved it!! Her mother’s favorite ❤❤❤❤❤
So sorry about your Dad Amber. This song brings out so much emotion. We love you guys
You guys are so sweet. Love that you can be vulnerable to everyone out here. There’s a lot of strength in that. Major kudos to you both!
Good explanation, good suggestion.
she starts the song with ... this one is for you daddy .... it more about coming of age and growing up .. a daddies' girl.... and can she go about her life without being afraid and on her own
Let us turn our dear John letters into the top album of 77'.
There are few songs that can evoke the sound that your heart feels. It’s like your soul speaking.
"hold fast to what is fine"! Amber(1Thess.5 :21)
Every time I hear this song.. brings me to tears . The voice is so beautiful. The song, so meaningful.
I love how even though they have history they’ve managed to get past it and remain friends so we can witness and hear such beautiful music. I really loved how his timing was governed by the way she sang it, true musicians. Thanks for reacting to this you two lovely people 🙏🥰🇦🇺
Just discovered your channel today after binging a bunch of reaction videos. Love how genuine you two are, just subscribed!!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, ..... tears every time
This song is amazing.
My favorite singer. Saw her in concert two years ago. GREAT!!
This
is for you Daddy
"Silver Springs " should be next. It futhers the epic interaction between Stevie and Lindsey while the feeling hits you like a punch in the face.
The troubles that Fleetwood Mac went through in 1975/76 are legendary. The guitar player here is Lindsay Buckingham and he and Stevie were a couple and were recording artists before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Lots of Coke and lots of ups and downs....
Yes, Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham (guitarist) had a long-term relationship in the mid 1970's
Fleetwood Mac - the relationships and breakups made this band what they were. They poured their emotions into their work and then performed them together. Amazing stuff.
This is amazing! Hey Jay & Amber 😃🎵🎵
Maria McKee of Lone Justice is another great female artist from the 80's and 90's
This is an amazing song.
Stevie nicks is probably one my favourite female vocalists of all time ... she started writing when she was young at wrote this song at around 17 .. the fact that she could have the sensitivity create something that touches so many people so deeply at that age should tell you the kind of artist she would go on to be
Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks was my wife's favorite. She called Stevie her shero.
Every time I hear Stevie, I get happy memories of her sitting at the kitchen table listening to her music, and it brings a smile to my face, and also tears because I miss her.
Thanks for reacting to this.
Hero's already got 'her' in it!!
I just love your energy as a couple! Amber...I feel you on this song reminding you of your Dad! It reminds me of losing my Dad too. I'm new to the channel and am enjoying the journey!
Such an amazing band. My dad loves stevie so much he named our dog and boat after her lol
Oh yeah..... Stevie Nicks! 👍 she has one of those awesome raspy voices like Janis Joplin 👍👍👍
She couldn't hold a candle to Janis.
I lost my best friend when I was in the forces and still this song reminds me of him and I always have a tear.
You should meet The Pearl!
Janis Joplin...may she rest in peace.
Try "Try" or "Little Girl Blue" "Cry Baby" or anything she ever recorded!
Albert King called her "The Queen of the Blues"
Don't forget Kozmic Blues.
This may be my favorite reaction video OF ALL TIME, and I've watched a lot of them. You guys are sincere, and honest, emotional and smart. I appreciate the reaction to one of my all-time favorite songs.
Hi jay, hi amber , Stevie is the original bad@$$ female singing about how much of an Ahole her boyfriend is and he’s right there playing the guitar 🤣
If you want another female singer from the 70's - an iconic song - Janis Ian - Seventeen - completely beautiful and relatable song to all youth of the time
One of my favorite Stevie Nicks songs is Leather and Lace with her and Don Henley.
Smashing Pumpkins has a pretty good cover of this song.
So do the Dixie Chicks.
A true classic hear...this one from the heart...sweet dreams...always!
Rob, glad that your channel is blowing up , I think it started when you had Amber join you. You and her are killing it. Keep on discovering new (OLD) music, there is so much of it that you will enjoy. Stay Open Minded and keep the vide going.
While I'm at it I'd like to give a shout out to another relatively new reactor" Emily Feechi , she too is a natural at this and deserves more attention. Check her out. Many Thanks.
Just beautiful, so simple yet so pure. xx
Fleetwood Mac is so good that they’re iconic even without Stevie. Then. . . You add Stevie, one of the greatest vocalists and songwriters of all time. How can you top that???
You so much got this. It’s allowing you to feel the the song and how it relates to your personal life. That’s how listening to music becomes alive.
Sorry for your loss Amber It’s hard when you lose someone you love. They we’re a couple.
Ughhh the way he looks at her....this performance and song is so heartwrenchingly beautiful
Please do Janis Joplin “Ball and Chain Live @ Monterrey festival. One of the most passionate performances.
You guys are awesome. Love your energy & your positive outlook on life. Thank you. Great music & excellent reviews!
Imagine singing such a heartfelt painful song next to the person its for lol
one of the best shows to ever see live so perfect.....the love hate in this Family is the stuff of rock and roll legend ........everyone in this group apart from one another is an amazing artist but together they are Gasoline and are still burning today even without one of the best guitar players anywhere....so much attitude so much love and hate defined the best era in music ever...
Love Fleetwood Mac! If you are looking for a female rock band check out Heart. Heart has a lot of great songs. Check out Alone, Never, their performance of Stairway to Heaven is amazing!
I absolutely love this song with one drawback...it always brings tears.
here is an idea, why not make your weekly friday videos feature female artists, maybe call it Female Friday or something like that. By the way, Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks havent recorded a bad song
Stevie Nick's is the first woman in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame twice.
You really should do "The Chain", written as Stevie & Lindsey's love affair was falling apart. It's a favorite of many Fleetwood Mac fans. You'll see why.💙🌿💚
One of my all time favorite songs! Another beautiful Stevie Nicks song is Silver Springs, which is only available as a live version. Awesome! Love you guys, too!
There is a meme going around that Taylor Swift writes whiny songs about her ex. Stevie Nicks made her ex play guitar while she sang about what an arsehole he was... lol. She was not someone you messed with:) Suggest Rhiannon.
