I think #36 is B since it said, "Kino hesitated a moment...This doctor was of a race...had beaten and starved and robbed and despised Kino's race, and frightened it too, so that the indigent came humbly to the door." and #37 is D because it said, "This doctor was not of his people. This doctor was of a race...and despised Kino's race... And often when he came near to one of this race...for all of the doctor's race spoke to all of Kino's race as though they were simple animals." All showing signs that "This doctor was not of his people" refers to a different background(race).
