  • Great battle between these two ultimate firewood saws, Echo CS-620 vs Stihl MS290 with the big bore kit! Both great saws but one out performs the other.

    Looked good Dave, the Echo is cutting like a new knife for sure. The Stihl is still doing a good job too. Thanks for comparing for us. That's some fine wood you're cutting up and a real good heating wood too. Fred.

    How many hours do you actually have on the ms361 to the echo what's the age difference

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  2 роки тому +2

      I put the new cylinder and piston kit on the Stihl last summer, probably has 5-8 hours on it. I didn’t change the crank, bearings, or seals so I’m sure they have a good bit more! I’m going to cut down the rakers a bit more on the Stihl to give it a little more aggressive cut but I’m still not sure it will be on pace with the echo.

    Very impressive Dave. Even before you did the split screen I could pretty much tell the Echo was a little faster. Just imagine when it gets broke in, itsonly gonna get better. Right now everything is brand new and tight with the Echo, it's performance will only get better. That was an awesome test you done buddy.

    Hey Dave, nice comparison video. The split screen was cool, the Echo was clearly faster, but don’t think you can go wrong with either both nice saws. **Almost all of these comparison videos** - Lemme take this clapped out Stihl with 500 working hours on it and put it up against a brand new, out of the box saw. Well GOLLY, that new saw sure cuts good!

    I run almost only Echo for my tree service and I love their saws. They always start they run great and they never break. A little heavier sometimes than the other major brands but worth the trade-off in my opinion. One thing I noticed with echo is after about six or seven tanks through it it’s broken and comes to life quite a bit more. Having them readjusted afterwards as far as fuel is a major help as well. Echo leaves a lot on the table power wise to be discovered if you want to have the saws readjusted.

    I just got a Timberwolf, its great. I only have owned one other Echo saw, a smaller one. Its works good for me the few times I used it. Stihl has good saws too. These are not bad for homeowner/ranch use. Echo is the Toyota of small engines. Stihl is the BMW or Volkswagen depending on how much you're willing to pay. I chatted the guy up at Home Depot and told him to give me a discount for the slightly ripped box and he gave me 50 bucks off, so I got a $459 saw for $409, I had to buy it at that price. Thanks for the video comparing the two.

      The Timberwolf is a great saw with lots of potential. With a few mods they rip. Carb mod, timing advance, muff mod, base gasket delete and it will scoot. Also the 620 coil and full wrap is nice addition as well.

    It sounds like 60cc engine lack off power in osage orange very hardwood...
    Both saws engines sounded on low rpm, and bog down...
    If it was me, for that kind off hardwood, i would go 70cc
