Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for a no nonsense apron pattern for 6 years and just gave up! This seems so easy! I love the home dec fabric! Thank you so much!
I have made this apron when I worked in the garment industry to protect my clothes. Mine was made from denim scraps and I used a cotton rope for the tie. Thanks for reminding me of how simple the project is to make.
Mimi G always coming through in the clutch. I have been TRYING to find a decent apron and/or pattern sans frills and cutesy stuff for a gift for a caterer. You nailed it! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I had never sewn a whole garment from scratch before but this tutorial was super easy to follow and it turned out great!!
Thank you for this!! I made my first apron for my mom for Christmas! I’ll report back when she opens it. This was super easy and thank for from a beginner because you went through everything and listed it out specifically what to do. All others just automatically went into making the aprons without explaining. 😊
I use it for the things I know I'll need ahead of time: utensils, a bar mop towel, maybe a recipe, etc. Anything that will keep you from having to stop and pause from cooking to grab it out of a drawer or something. No, the utensils are not dirty. They're in my pocket before I start cooking. Again, anything to limit the pausing, reaching, and grabbing.
Personally, I don’t either. Occasionally I’ll throw some peppers or something I grab from my garden in there to wash when I go back inside. A little harvest pocket.
Thank you. I have printed out my apron and ready to sew. Store bought aprons are so expensive and not so creative. I'm ready to create my own style. Thank you Mimig
I love watching your diy videos . I like how you show everything. In a step by step guide easy to follow instructions. I'm a member of your sewing academy. I'm a beginner but i have learned so much. Thank you sharing all this awesome information.
Hola Mimi yo hago galletitas y siempre me han gustado los delantales. No sabia lo del webbing. Ahora a coserme uno asi.Muchas gracias por compartir y que Dios te siga bendiciendo ❤️
Mrs. Mimi I think you should work with Simplicity and come out with some kitchen essential patterns for us to make. Especially a chef jacket pattern, if you could. I have always wanted a Pink or a black & white striped one. Wouldn't that be Fabulous!!! 🤔👏🙋
I love how she did the webbing. The fact that it’s not sewn down, means that one could always remove it, to change colors or remove it to add a longer/shorter one.
I really want to thank you for your very detailed videos, your patterns I have printed and done your mask pattern and now going to do the apron. But I really enjoy and appreciate your step by step you do make sewing and learning very easy.... And that to me is a A++++++++ it being that I like to teach people in a dummy down format so absolutely anyone can pick up and learn and do without questions because the explanation was so precise.... and that you do well and again thank you and appreciate you taking out your time to so... and love your work space awesome....keep up the amazing work it is not over looked seriously.
The best tutorial, I've been wanting to make aprons for myself n kid (I'm a home baker) because like you i can't seem to find the one that speaks to me at any store definitely gonna try this!!! Love it
Great apron, and thanks you for the pattern, most impressed!!! I was wondering about the size of your pockets...then watched the end, great idea for scissors etc etc...will be making a few to sell at markets. Your video was easy to follow, and not too much chit chat lol...
Hello Mimi. Love this apron. How would you add a holder for hanging a towel off the side of this apron. My son cooks and requested his apron have this. Can you help?
Would make a great sewing apron as well, putting scissors, tape measures, pins etc. in the pockets so you're not hunting for them, wondering where you laid them when sewing.♡
Love your tutorial !!! I love aprons ! Thanks to my grandma !!! The women wore an apron from sun up to sun down!!! And I don’t know how BUT she always had a Kleenex in her pocket or up her sleeve !!! Love your pattern !! Crazy about your material too!! Thank you for sharing and caring 👊👍🏿🙌🏼👏🏿❌🙌🏼🎈🥰❣️💕🍓🍓
Super cute! I cook all the time and never use an apron, but I should.🤷🏾♀️ I make a mess of my clothes at times, especially during holiday cooking. Thanks for this video. I want to try it. 🥰🧷
Hey Mimi, quick question please.. do you think these measurements are good for an average size guy. I'm making this for a gift. Surprise 😁 so I can't get any measurements. But I'd hate to have spent so much on a special print cotton/canvas ( not heavy, shew!) And get it all done to find its just not happening for him. Lol granddaughters bf ,only 21, an aspiring chef.. thought a perfect gift. Any thoughts I'd appreciate it. I'd say he's an XL/XXL he's not a heavy guy but not tiny thin either.. if that helps🤦♀️🤣 thank you!! Ps I'm planning on oven mit to go with.. Hong you've gotten your upload for that done .. so tired of channel surfing. And again don't want to waste the fabric. The long style with place for have at each end.. shouldn't he a difficult make without pattern.. but using the insulbright I got from Joann.. not sore which side goes which way. I imagine metalic goes away from hands to keep great away not no directions when you purch yardage 🙄🤔
You can't send photos on UA-cam. You've have to send it to her email or share with a #on a site Mimi is on that shows it. Say for instance INSTAGRAM. There are links in the drop down box under video( above comment section) where You can follow Mimi. How that helps to i realize this was mentioned a cpl years ago. Sleep no one bothered to reply to you then. ( not sure why Mimi doesn't/ didn't put hasn't had someone else check in out it for her. I realize she's busy but tutorials are a dialog at times. Students will inevitably have questions new and then. 😉

Great video. The first thing I loved was how you explained (& demonstrated!) how the neck strap would behave. Fast and easy. Thanks!

Excellent instructions! Thanks for sharing this. I want to make gifts using your instructions♥
I love adding pockets to aprons but never know what to put in them while cooking 😊
Your utensils? Lol
The recipe that you wrote in a paper, or you can use them to have some cloth napkins, very handy to clean the mess while you are cooking.
@@Rascott03 I have yet to meet anyone that puts dirty utensils in their apron pocket. No thank you.

Hi MiMi. I am excited to make this apron, but I don't have a serger. What can I do to the edges of the material in place of a serge?
Love your style - this is great thank you
Lovely apron and you can really customize this! I think I missed how much fabric to use for the body of the apron? Thank you!!!
I love this
Please what is the name of the material you used?
When you hemmed the one inch hem around the apron did you fold the serged edge under or just stitch on top?
This is right up my alley!!! Thank you!!! ❤️👍🏽👍🏽😁
¡Lindísimo! Lo pongo en mi lista para hacerlo pronto. Abrazos desde Guadalajara, Jal. México
This was super helpful and easy to follow. Thank you so much.
