~ Greetings ~ I just came across your channel looking for added fan info to the cult classic - "The Car" (1977) - and it was an instant sub from me once I looked at your library of films. ~ will you be doing a companion piece where stunt driver Hickman is doing the driving in the chase sequence in - "The 7ups" (1973)? ~ hope to see more killer cars & chase sequences! ~ Keep up the good work!
Hey my friend. Thx for your interest. This channel is kind of a tribute to 'The Movie Vault' which was my somewhat successful former channel up until its cancellation a few years ago. One day I hope to find the old inspiration again and make a few more vids in the same spirit as these.
@@TMVarchive Awesome, I came here to request the "7-Ups" chase too - just saw it for the first time and I think it's pretty nearly equal to this one. Really liked the way they interacted with the bus and, of course, the flatbed truck.
In The Seven Ups Hickman also entered The Bronx in Norwood via Mosholu Parkway and Van Cortlandt Avenue East which is featured in the beginning of the movie, when Roy Scheider’s car turned left on East Mosholu Parkway North they passed 155-165 East Mosholu Parkway North and somehow they cut the scene heading from Steuben to East 208th Street comimg off East 208th Street and heading northbound on Bainbridge Avenue coming off Bainbridge Avenue and going northbound on Jerome Avenue and coming off the on ramp at Exit 13 at East 233rd Street and taking the Major Deegan Expressway into Lower Manhattan to head to the Brooklyn Bridge and into Brooklyn to catch up with the black ‘71 Pontiac sedan that was at a car wash on Atlantic Avenue, they ended up cutting Roy’s route completely with Bill Hickman following behind in a separate car which was the third car in that car chase scene in The Bronx, why would they completely cut the whole route of the drive from The Bronx to Brooklyn it doesn’t make any sense
Cary Loftin was the man!! Wouldn't surprise me if you already know this but the for the Duel cliffdive, he ended up having to drive the truck with the Valiant attached full tilt towards the cliff and then bail out at the last possible second so he wouldn't be seen diving out on camera, though the truck's driver-side door clearly being open led people to believe the driver had escaped until the shot of blood dripping off the truck's steering wheel. Also, I would love a black '69 Charger, vinyl roof optional. Intimidating, menacing, and one HELL of a sweet-ass lookin' ride. Hell, even the 2010-14 Charger looks just as awesome in black!
I always thought that the open door meant that the driver survived ready to terrorize another hapless driver driving the empty highway. You always see with killer cars that there is still life them even after they have been crushed in a yard.
Just curious, Why was the Mustang's engine soundtrack provided by another car? I have never really quite understood that for the longest time I've known about Bullitt.
To make make it sound badass for dramatic effect I guess. The only time you hear the 'Stang's real engine is when he fires it up while eyeballing the hitmen in the Charger waiting for him.
I'm actually remaking the ones with quality issues using the originals as templates. (this one included) My new editing software produces higher quality vids and also eliminates the audio issues some people had.
Lol, the Mustang is a one tire fryer when he misses the turn and reverses.
Hes back

As for Hickman and 'The 7-Ups'... I have a vid, I think.
Will see if I can find it.

This is exceptional.. Your research is amazing..
Lol, when I like something about a movie I research the crap out of it. That's what started all of this.

Yup. That's why the door was open.
I had an idea to do an in depth look at Duel.
I have compiled some stuff that is pretty interesting.
I always thought that the open door meant that the driver survived ready to terrorize another hapless driver driving the empty highway.

this is the movie that inspired the car chases in the olsen gang movies

Nice.
You Are EPIC
Woah! Thought I'd never see this channel again! What happened? Why'd they remove you?
Just censor bots doing their thing.
But it's like getting booted out of a nightclub, you just change your shirt and stroll back in. lol
Why is it taking so long to get all the old vids up when there already made?
