Rapido Magor DODX 54' Military Flatcars!

- Something special for the military aficionados! Rapido is pleased to announce our 54' Magor DODX heavy duty flatcar. Built for hauling military equipment around the country as needed, these will look great on any mid 1950s-early 1990s based layout!
Not only that, we'll soon be offering appropriate loads for these cars - M60A1 tanks and Mark 42 5" turrets. Stay tuned for that announcement!

those M60 tanks were used well into the 90s... i was stationed in the army at ft knox from 89 to 92... saw them do PLENTY of live fire demos... looking forward to seeing what the models are like

You should make converted trucks for 70ton and 100ton trucks. I could use a few sets of them.
I believe both 3D Central and Moloco make converted trucks.

Nice to see these cars in HO. You should consider offering them in Amtrak! They had some of these flat cars in either a patched out ex DODX scheme or fully repainted in Amtrak orange.

A comment from an old soldier: your silhouette of the tanks on the flatcar shows the barrels facing forwards. The turrets should be reversed with the barrels clamped in the travelling locks. Additionally, the .50 calibre machine gun would not be fitted in the cupola for rail travel as they could be damaged or stolen. They would be dismounted and transported seperately under guard. I do hope you will include scale tie-downs for the tanks.

At this time this is just planned for HO scale, but anything is possible for N
Very cool project I will follow with interest. These cars seem to be tricky to find pictures of. Wondering what trains made up of them would look like.
Photos are somewhat hard to find online, but if you search for USAX or DODX flatcar a number of shots should appear.

Very nice but...every time Jordan said "tanks" someone off camera should have yelled "You're welcome!" Cannot believe you missed such an opportunity.

I've been hearing rumors about you planning to release a model for the S13 and RS23, is this true?
It was mentioned in the past that by someone at Rapido that Jason needs S13s for his layout so they will eventually be done. I for one cant wait for them, I need S13s in CN and RS23s in DEVCO, and hopefully they will also announce the RSC24 at the same time, since they did the RSC14 they already have the correct trucks.
Jason definitely does need them for his layout!
