What's up with the Armageddon series?.. still waiting for new issues

It's actually TMNT v5. So V6 is starting.
Seems like it's doing the standard comic continuity thing where it's just going back to "issue #1" to pull in potential new readers with a jumping-on point. I think it works great for TMNT IDW cuz there's only a handful of books under its' TMNT umbrella that can be pulled up in an omnibus or two if anybody wanted to look back, whereas most other superhero books is like~ eighty encyclopedias long and half of it's not canon lol
What do you mean all of the 150 issues plus side minis and one shots are a 17 volume omnibus series??
@@cbfwebs Yeah probably, didn't look into numbers on the IDW TMNT onmibus count, I wasn't being too technical. Feel like 150/200 issues should be 17 volume collections rather than whole omnibusses~ but eh if it is, it is
The point is that the IDW continuity is streamlined and easy to follow while most longstanding comic continuities with eighty retcons in the last 20 years are not lol

I'm reading Jason Aaron's Avengers Run, and have been enjoying it, so I have fate in him with the Ninja Turtles, especially since he's clearly a big fan.
I'd love to see more Turtles forever movies. A live last ronin movie rated R in the style of the 1990 movie and comic series or animated movie where the future Turtles last ronin meet the original Turtles via a time travel story. I think that would be awesome but they should wait on the last one let the fans know the newer Turtles a bit more.
They should make another TMNT Turtles Forever movie with 1987, 2003, 2012, and Rise turtles

@@user-oi5vu1fv3n yep, and I have an idea how it would go. The utrom Shredder is revived by an Multi dimensional god who likes the Turtles existence. So he powers up the Shredder and warns him to get rid of these four groups of turtles, because they will most likely are the ones to put up more resistance than any of their counterparts.
@jorgeboy8195, it would be cool to see the turtles split up from each show and interact . Example a team of 87 Mikey, 2003 Raph, 2012 Leo and Rise Donnie.

Honestly when we got to the mutant town arc the series just slowed to a crawl for me.
It did pick back up around 125 and Armageddon Game was a pretty crazy conclusion to the comic's overall story arc. Though yeah I think Sophie's a better artist than writer for this series.
Because Ross/Sophie Campbell or whoever he/she wants to be but clearly had a anti-male agenda with self-insert characters and the idea to make an all female team and put down Raphael and any other strong male leads.
Was hoping for a full reboot, but I'll take it
I’m hoping they add a lot of original villains from both the 2012 and Rise tv series in this relaunch since we didn’t really see any in the original run.

Exactly!! He made Ghost Rider the best it ever was story-wise with the Spirits of Justice and the return of Danny Ketch with Johnny Blaze and the War for Heaven.

Sophie's run didn't start off good with Mutant Town, but I did enjoy Armageddon game and I'm enjoying the lead up to 150, basically everything from issue 125 onward was pretty good. Hopefully Jason's run can start off strong and stay strong by comparison.

Only the late 80’s and early 90’s Turtles are canon and the source of its popularity. Puppet suit, consistent body shapes and eyeballs on the characters, not monsters.

Man, it sucks it’s ending. I’ve bought everything since issue #1, and loved seeing that issue count go up. Oh well. It’ll be worth it if they have more than 1 ongoing book, so we’ll see.
It was going downhill once mutant town started
Yes Sophie Campbell ruined the book and it should have stopped at #100 when the Splinter/Shredder war ended and then after Armageddon Game tied up the loose ends.
That being said, it was the longest running TMNT book up to that point anyway. It should have an ending point and go out with a bang on a high note not milked forever like Fast & Furious or Transformers movies.

If it’s the IDW universe it’s an else world universe, these turtles are reincarnated kids, not the original Turtles, IDW should have rebooted the series!.
I don’t trust Jason Aaron given his comic work at marvel. So I am worried about him on the TMNT series l
I'm not a fan of Aaron's recent work but anything is a step up from Campbell. The artist announcement really will be the clincher for whether or not I get back onboard with IDW's TMNT.
Same but im at least getting the first 4 issues with each turtle brother to see how it is first. If anything I'll have the first 4 issues of the Jason Aaron era which im okay with.
Jason Aaron is a really good writer. But he's also known for changing characters and their pasts, and not always for the better. I hope he keeps the personalities and histories of the Turtles as they are. Except maybe Jennika, for her he could change some things and even save the character.
A lot of writers change a character's past. Al Ewing, Jonathan Hickman, Scott Snyder, Grant Morrison, Donny Cates, Ed Brubaker and many more have done the same.
I wonder it will be like the Images' run/TMNT:. I could see Donnie will have no choice but become a cyborg or he will become Don Bot after he has sacrificed his body to save everyone in issue 150. I could see his brothers and April will bring Donnie back in a new model of Metalhead's body with his scientist friend and his wife.
IDW should reprint the TMNT Color Classics Vol 2

They should do a real prequel that focuses on them hiding in the sewers and training to become ninjas with. Splinter would face the Rat King who followed him into the sewers and that threat leads to Splinter training the Turtles. They literally don't go on the surface until the second movie which then has them facing the likes of Casey Jones only to find out they need weapons to win. Then they meet April and her reporting leads Baxter and the Shredder to finding out they exist.

I want Frank Miller to work on the Turtles.
His work inspired Eastman & Laird's The Last Ronin og story in the 80's.
I absolutely hate it when they draw the NT with different body types. And why do they always have to do the nerd stereotype with Donatello, I just find this stupid. They should all have nearly the same skill level and training, just because Donatello prefers to spend his free time tinkering doesn't mean he has to be somehow weaker than the other turtles, it's so stupid.
Agreed. They all should use the same character model. It just works better for them visually
I might pick it back up with Jason. I dropped it with Mutant Town because it just got so bad. 1-100 was the best turtles we've had imo so hopefully it can get back to that greatness.

There is no Mirage v3. Image had v3 and that was retconned. Laird wrote v4 and hasn't released it. Idw has had v5 and soon v6 now.

The series honestly got back to what it was after issue 125 and Armageddon Game was pretty good too. The current lead up to 150 isn't that bad either but I can kind of tell Waltz isn't helping Sophie write like he did during the Armageddon Game stuff.

I love how the comics industry has learned literally nothing over the last ten decades or so. Let us relaunch our title to reset the numbers so we can increase sales for *_one whole month!_* Whereas the average collector doesn't ever start buying the comics because there are thirty different comics all named "Superman," "Batman," or "Spiderman," as well as all the other variants such as "Detective Comics," etc.

I don't even like IDW TMNT, but they shouldn't fall into the dumb trap of "volumes." The only big licensed comic not to do that is Archie Sonic, which was smart.
NOOOOOO~ Not Jason Aaron! He's poison to any book he is working on. Original Sin, the Jane Foster Thor arc, Wolverine, the 2011 Incredible Hulk... So many bad books! Why is he failing upwards and getting TMNT?
A lot of people enjoyed his Thor and Wolverine. He also wrote Punisher Max, Southern Bastards and Scalped, all Highly praised books.

He didn't make any woman gay. Not in Thor, Ghost Rider, Hulk, Wolverine, scalped, Punisher (both max and main books), southern bastards and many more.
In my opinion they should completely reboot it. It's been almost 13 years since the start of the start of the idw storyline, just let it end and start over.
God the IDW TMNT design is horrible... they look just like Michael Bay TMNT.
The artist changed with every cylce i liked the first half better but ive seen worse so wouldnt say its horrible
