Cleaning campaign for Earth Hour

This Earth Hour we worked with EFN Society, Rover Scouts, Tarayana Club, and Y-Peer; youth groups based in the Royal Thimphu College to create awareness on sustainable waste management practices.
For over four hours, 22 students from the Royal Thimphu College cleaned up drains and picked trash at the core of Thimphu Thromde on March 9. The pet bottles collected were responsibly sold to scrap, promoting a circular economy. The group also highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in managing the waste sustainably.

The group in total contributed 88 hours for the earth, which is equivalent to almost four days of nature friendly actions organized for our shared home.
We are collaborating with many other youth groups in the build up to our main Earth Hour event on March 23.
