I love my, Omnipod!! I can swim, shower, and never be disconnected! I love going to the shore and not having to worry. I use mine with a G6 and I have no more skin issues than I have with my G6 adhesive.
@@biznizwithemersen8109 i don’t go in hot tubs but form Omnipod website, “It is recommended that you remove your Pod prior to using hot tubs, whirlpools, or saunas. These conditions could expose the Pod to extreme temperatures and may also affect the insulin inside the Pod. Do NOT expose your Pod to water at depths greater than 25 feet or for more than 60 minutes”
We as a community need to start holding these companies like Omni pod to a higher standard. I mean this is just pathetic, this is 2010s technology. We’re in 2021, we have self driving cars and rockets, but I have to rely on a 2010 Samsung to control my blood sugar? We have the technology to make living with diabetes a whole hell of a lot easier but we never see it.
Good update! I've been type I for almost 50 yrs and have used both the G6 and Libre for 2 yrs. You still can't beat the syringe. It is so simple and cognitive. Maybe in 5 or 10 more years. The cost and regulation to develop these is astronomical.
Got my device for free from Omnipod, the prices of the pods and Insulin what hurts. Changing my pos every two days a monthly supply at CVS was just over $958, have seen them only line for less. My Omnipod Pod up to 200 units and believe the minimum is 85? There are pros and cons to every Insulin pump and how they deliver your insulin.
Thank you for your comments. The Pod is ok the device is awful. Poor quality. I dropped the PDM and the screen shattered. The warranty does not cover broken screen so I have been told I have to buy an new PDM out of pocket which for me is ridiculous. My insurance company is charged a lot of money for this. I have had a few pods failures. They also had serious problems with the software that apparently are now fixed. The device is convenient, but it is like a very cheap, cheap Nuu phone.
I'm enjoying the tubeless thing and wouldn't wanna switch back but good god, the OmniPod is super user-unfriendly with the incessant beeping that you cannot turn off when you get to the end of your three days. Between this and the beeping of my sensor, I feel like I've already aged a few years from the constant beeping annoyance following me every day.
So with being a type 1 diabetic on a sliding scale of humilin Nph and humilin R can I use both or it’s only one or the other or I would have to use 2 pods at once??
Love these doctors. "Humiliin Ru500 isn't FDA approved. The FDA is very strict and needs studies and such, but we doctors can do stuff off-label and there's no harm with it as far as I can tell." Well, that's ok then.
How small a dose can the OmniPod deliver? Can it do five units? One unit? How long can a pod keep working, if they hold up to 200 units, if you want to deliver a very small dose?

Anybody else notice the Omnipod commercials seem a little "sniffy" (like Joe Biden)?? It's downright creepy, and it's likely *why* Omnipod has comments TURNED OFF for those ads.

Honestly who cares about the device but rather why is Omnipod still not on a loop system- they have been around way longer than Tandem.
@@rhdtv2002 They are. Even when you wrote this comment they were in the final stages of FDA clearance for their closed-loop system.

0.1 unit is my understanding. We go live on the dash today.
0.05 units is the smallest dose available on OmniPod.

Whenever the sensor's adhesive irritates my skin, I apply a tiny amount of Flonaise to the irritated area.
That's a great tip @cyn5962! Thanks for sharing. Everyone's skin reacts differently, so it's essential to find what works best for you.
Great video, wish you were in Australia!!
Maybe one day!
Hello, so I am assuming that using a pump you eliminate the use of the slow release insulin that is used in the night time?
Yep, little tiny squirts of fast acting insulin every few minutes instead.

Cut out the PDM & get the app built for smartphones. Completely pointless carrying around an additional device. Needs to happen.
I wish they'd make an app for it :/

Will I be able to control and change the amount of insulin per hour??? or how that works ????
yes you can create basal programs by time segments
You can sync with iOS units like iphone with app

you can use it but its not recommended by Insulet
