there’s a common saying in storytelling: show don’t tell. ik this is rap not storytelling necessarily but i think the notion still helps. i’m not sayin the message is bad but when u try to state it this directly it comes off as preachy and a lot of ppl are gonna think it’s cringe. nobody likes littering but only a child rlly needs to hear a song abt it. at least a song about it spoken so directly.
I hear you. Actions do speak louder than words, that’s why I live up to the habits preached in this EP & try to take part in beach clean ups when I can. I could care less if people find it cringy, that’s always gonna be the case with songs like this. Yes the message is simple & we (mostly) all learned it in elementary, but to me that’s what’s refreshing about it. It’s a message everyone can get behind no matter what background. Some like it, some don’t. I’m gonna speak my truth either way.
