We have a lots of E30 here in South Africa so we love them
E30’s are slow but you are driving the worse example to review. A 318i sedan with a 4 cylinder engine slammed with bags and heavy aftermarket wheels. Most likely the car has a open diff. By the way the “facelift” started in 1988 and they initially designed the e30 being as a sedan not a coupe. I love your channel but please don’t spread wrong information to people who don’t know. Oh yeah e30’s were mass produced but they are not plentiful at junkyards as you say. It is a 30 year old car.

Agree! It is the most perfect car unless it is compared to the (2dr) e30 318is. The score for that is 110/10!

Yeahh you got squeaky brakes, front panel screen and radio not working, car is slow, sounds like it would take off right now, aero jamming, but it looks SO GOOD
Also the reason "dirty E30" became a term is because they were used in rally cars, and that's what they called them. 318 and the 325i were totally different beasts. The 325i although not fast, was a a lot more peppy then the 318/325e and made the car lot more fun especially on curvy roads where the car excels over being a fast car, it's a momentum car.
m42 318s (like this one) have a lot to give. the "318s are boring" sentiment generally comes from m10 experience. m42 318i/s e30s aren't really that far off the performance of a 325, and the change in weight placement definitely helps the balance of the front end.
I know the 318i has it's fans and they love the weight savings, but the M20B25 is a great little sewing machine. Good low end, with the right LSD, and it loves to rev. Makes nice sounds too!
All Alex needs now is socks to go with those sandals, and then we can officially call him the Linus of the fitment world.

All this love to the E30s. E34 deserve the same attention, they're bigger and much more comfortable. I've owned mine for over 4 years now and have taken it on many long trips.

... So how many tens of thousands of dollars have you put into it so far?
@@padrescout I surely have put thousands into it, rebuilding and stroking the engine, getting leather sports seats and retrofitting various extras, but all in all it was well worth it. The car's been super reliable so far.
I’m lucky to have a facelift 5sp 325is - it’s all stock. It’s slow and the interior is creaky- but that straight six is silky smooth

I want to remind you that there is a 316i model which has a 1.6 l 102 cv model 😌😌 (the one I have, coupe obv)
I am working on a 1988 e28 528e and it's loud as hell stock. I am installing sound dampening panels throughout to help the sound.
My car will sound great! Cammed and tuned Cadillac 4.6 northstar from northstar performance. Glass packs and 400hp in a 17ft 4 door sedan on coilovers!

Agreed. Maybe cause they messed with the suspension and the engine is the base 4 cylinder. I've driven several Miata's and a couple S2000's, and while they're great cars, the E30 isn't called the ultimate driving machine for nothing. And is also the reason why I've chosen to currently use an E30 325 as my daily

The E36 M3 was made as a parts car for the E30.
