Dude this was so good. I really like this way of showing how you think about things, bringing out conversations and giving a different perspective to a trip like that.
Its painfull to see this channel has only 15k subs, I can only imagine the amount of hardwork and dedication put into every shot he filmed! An absolute gem of a creator
I appreciate you and I aim to put out more consistent work! Trying to find that balance between creating and living. Got plans for this channel though!
It's very unusual that I watch something 30 minutes long on youtube, but this one was definitely worth it and caught me by surprise. Beautiful storytelling, sound, footage, grading - everything!
This is easily one of the best UA-cam films ever made. Story, visuals, sound… it has everything. Thanks for doing what you guys do. Really much appreciated 🤝🏼
An overproduced video about 4 photographers being tourists where the tiniest of details are over accentuated because there’s no interesting story and your talked to like your watching a motivational speech.. dudes trying way too hard to sound poetic/sophisticated. “One of the Best UA-cam films ever made”, lol.
Incredible! This is what I am for. Just pure story telling no crazy effects, no insane transitions. It's simple, but packs a punch. Keep killing it legend
Thoroughly enjoyed that! I’ve been trying to observe good storytelling to improve my own on my channel and make it less “vloggy” - this is a masterpiece that’s beautifully shot and engagingly told. Thank you.
I have followed your work for quite some time also astounded by your edits like many out here. This was a great film, one that invokes many emotions and makes you think of those precious moments where you need to take a pause and reflect. Thank you for sharing this perspective we all need to reminded of and be better at.
Ok.wow. This is one of the best UA-cam video I seen in very long time. Your way of storytelling so fresh. . And inspired me To make better creative content. And find my own style.
Beautiful film! Amazing background track as well. 29:54 "Bring people with you when you come up. May be that's the key. Because if one wins, we all win." That hit a note.
Surreal Lofoten. I was there 2.5 years ago and it is just unbelievable. Amazing video, would be cool to see you more on UA-cam teaching about filmmaking and sharing more vids like this. It’s a banger 🫡
Just watched this. THIS HIT HARD. It truly resonated with me in a way I didn't expect. I've put so much pressure on myself lately. Paralyzed by that same pressure I have come to a realization. Mental health and mindset I think has to be an active pursuit. This isn't something you wake up and change or speak about. You have to take those active steps every day, every month, every friggin year to keep it going. I also believe the people around you help shape you. So surround yourself with only the best of characters. You are writing your own movie and you get to choose the stars. Never stop chasing. Thank you so much for this video. I do believe the VALUE is priceless for so many. On my list to rewatch again or as many times necessary. Thank you again.
Never thought I'd be nearly crying when I started to watch this film. So beatiful, so magic! And the questions, so relatable, everyday I think a lot about life, decisions (specially the ones I don't make), and never have an honest answer if I'm doing enough before I die. This really inspired me to change my ways of living and try to find some paths to happiness. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
I see stuff like this and start watching it on my phone and then have to switch to the telly because its so good! It deserves to be seen on the big screen.
Dude. This was beautiful. And not just the color grading. edits, sound and scenery, but the dialogue. Creators create because that's the nature of the beast, the self. Driven by an 'inner' need to express. If we are lucky, the work provokes a response in others, magnetism. We live between two worlds, the outer life of 'Events', and the inner life of 'States'. States of mind, States of being. The 'Inner' world, being our real life. Absolutely, the outer life is important, navigating the world, communicating with others, family, friends and lovers. But the inner life is who we are, what we are, and from where we grow. Not just being on those mountain tops, having lunch with the guys, and having those 'very necessary' conversations, but feeling ourselves, reminding ourselves, 'I am here now' on this mountain, registering the 'impression' of being here now, and no more so than when having those conversations dude. Man, your dialogue triggered a response in me, woke me up, I thank you for that. Your a good guy dude, and you have some great friends and family around you. Thank you for sharing your inner world.
Thanks for much for watching and for the very thoughtful response. I hope it sparks something in others that drives more vulnerable conversations. We all need each other!
So many things to like about this short film. Of course the cinematography goes without saying. But it was wonderful to see four young men being able and willing to be open with their feelings and be vulnerable with each other. The message of slowing down and appreciating things along the way rather than getting stuck on the hamster wheel of "career success" and the trappings that comes with it. Adrian's story was a perfect example of that as was the conversation between RJ and Garrett. And last, and certainly not least, the idea of helping others find success much more rewarding than going it alone was a much better way to live a more fulfilling life. I'm about to turn 62 and after a number of different careers am now looking to see what's next. I know nothing about photography, shooting videos, or editing, but I find myself wanting to explore this medium in this new chapter of my life. To say that I'm overwhelmed by it all would be an understatement as I am technology averse. But I recently came across two quotes that are driving me forward: "You are always one decision away from a totally different life," and, "Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change."
Sometimes you need to quit the race to win the race. This was beautifully filmed, and the color grading, epic. Honestly, up until 09.55 this felt epic but generic, but opening this story up to what "the rat race" does to you as a creative made it come alive. Much appreciated and very relatable. Bravo
Amazing, nice shots great story telling, I see you visited the neighbor island during autumn it's one of the best times of the year, with a very good vibe. Thanks for sharing
So amazingly beautiful and all of you are so talented. Balance work and play is what life is. And your purpose makes you happy. Congratulations to you all. Great job.
As a fellow photographer and all around creative, I really connected with you when you said you always feel like you need to be doing something. That you couldn't just not be productive, but had to learn and realize doing nothing can be productive too. It's something I'm struggling with, but it's nice to hear I'm not the only one that thinks this way. I've been putting a focus on appreciating where I'm at, living in the moment, but still keeping my goals close to me. Great film and I'm glad I got to watch one from my favorite photographer. Keep up the great work!
You’re not alone man! In a world of go go go, it’s so important to have downtime and truly let yourself breathe, reset. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s. We all need each other!
There should be an M after your subscriber count as opposed to a K. This is real, and it's phenomenal. However you personally define success, I sincerely hope you reach it, and then beyond. Thank you for sharing your visions with the world, Garrett.
SO GLAD i FOUND THIS CHANNEL! Thanks Pete. I got to visit Norway for the first time last year and it absolutely melted my entire brain. I can not wait to go back again.Thank you so much for capturing it in a really great and unique way. I very much related to all of it.
I’m so glad I watched this, a 30 minute video this quality is just so rare in this short form content era. I was so drawn in that it didn’t even feel like 30 mins. I strive to be like you guys when I’m older.
I have been following photographers and creatives for years now. I stumbled upon your channel through a recommendation, and boy am I glad I did. I may be just another random person to you, but I promise you that this is the best video I have watched on youtube in many many years. A beautiful story with excellent cinematography that reminded me of my trip to Iceland with a few friends many years ago.
I enjoyed it so much. The conversations: sure. The way of capturing the whole time together: the simple being the greatest. The countryside. Wanna go on a trip; with my besties. So happy for you to have your people.
Man. So many of the conversations y'all had really struck a cord. It's really awesome to see such a thoughtful piece around the more existential and quiet moments on trips like these. Nailed it bro! Thanks for sharing with us.

I really do appreciate people like you. It's beautiful, dude! Loved it 😍 the start, the shots, the ways you've said the story, the way you've made me feel, everything is done beautifully, Garrett. ❤

WOW. I can confidently say that I've rarely been that much inspired by a UA-cam video, I mean... a film. The storytelling with ''the boys'' and the deep conversations were incredible and meaningful, the location, every camera angle from the drone to the super8, the editing, grading... 30 min felt like nothing, thank you for bringing this kind of content to UA-cam.
We’re lucky to have you, Shortstache!
