  • @codegeek98
    @codegeek98 3 місяці тому

    11:37 a rudimentary "technical" trick i use on my SMP server is to have a render distance "boring zone" around any ender pearl chambers to keep the things proserved against death. It does _not_ have to be cleared like a perimeter, but the border's usually marked with fenceposts or at least signs and a conspicuous block.

    Very satisfying to watch, congratulations.
    Is there any way to use the pig cannons with the chunks that the pig goes through not loading? I mean, if all the chunks that you have to cross get added to your world file, then its totally undoable in singleplayer.

    • @JKM115
      @JKM115  Рік тому +46

      At these velocities, you can imagine the pig warping from place to place, instead of covering a continuous distance. In one tick the pig is at 0,0 and in the next one it's at 300k,300k and so on. Only a handful of chunks get generated at every tick, and they are separated by 100s of thousands of blocks. iirc when La1m1e took the cannon for the first time, he only generated 100MB of data which is completely fine when we're talking about this kind of journey

    • @thebergerking1754
      @thebergerking1754 Рік тому +14

      @@JKM115 Is it deterministic enough to only load the same chunks every use for the same destination? If not you could be generating up to 100MB every use which isn't optimal.

    • @theaureliasys6362
      @theaureliasys6362 Рік тому +1

      @@JKM115however comma, every single time you use the cannon, it will generate more chunks, until each position you exist in during the journey has a render distance worth of chunks surrounding it.

    • @iamsushi1056
      @iamsushi1056 Рік тому +8

      @thebergerkind1754 and @kurtz8456 it is deterministic if you go at the same speed every time (which you should, since it's the same distance and starting location). However, like @theaureliasys6362 mentioned, repetitive uses of the 360º pig cannon to the same location could potentially begin loading areas around those specific chunks, which would be a major problem. However, given that you're literally moving so fast that the game doesn't have time to process all the chunks before you've moved on, it won't be a very large increase. It will settle out after repeated uses to only be fractionally more than the increase from a single usage. It takes long enough to charge up the pigs that you don't have multiple players in the air at the same time, which is the only way it could potentially have a player in the region long enough to result in chunk bloat.

      But, it is easier if you use it with a hotkey: For that go to "hotkey" (in the configuration menu) and scroll down a little, there you should see an option called "easyPlaceToggle", and set the hotkey you prefer.

    Your approach to tackling such a massive task is inspiring. From the initial planning stages to the execution, every step showcases your deep understanding of Minecraft mechanics and your innovative problem-solving skills. It's not just about the technical aspects, but also about the patience and perseverance you've shown throughout the project.
    I particularly appreciated the detailed explanations you provided as you progressed. It made it easier to understand the complexities involved, especially for someone like me who enjoys Minecraft but hasn't taken on a project of this magnitude. Your tips and tricks are invaluable and have given me some great ideas for my own gameplay.
    Lastly, the final reveal of the completed perimeter was nothing short of stunning. The sense of achievement you must feel is well-deserved, and it's fantastic that you've shared this journey with us. This video is not just entertaining but also educational and inspiring for the Minecraft community.
    Keep up the incredible work! I'm looking forward to seeing what you tackle next in the Minecraft world. You've earned yourself a new subscriber and a fan. Thanks for sharing this epic journey with us!

    Video I saw a while ago for this, was called "wireless teleporter in minecraft java" By the user "Bug". Would support multiple stasis chambers per player, with multiple locations, and if you wanted you could hook it up so that it has multiple pearls per player with the same input.

    Oh wow, I didn't think you were listening to the oppenheimer soundtrack too. Although my favourites are "Colonel Pash" and "Kitty comes to testify". The others are all still bangers though

      @JKM115  Рік тому

      Colonel Pash reminds me of Minecraft cave sounds xd. It's not bad, not at all, that's just the first thing I think of when I'm listening to it.
      My other favorite is "Quantum Mechanics". It's like "Can you hear the music" but with a lighter tone

      @JKM115  Рік тому +1

      Also, the reason why I love Trinity so much is because when I was cycling during the summer, I'd do it right around the sunset. And basically every time it played, I literally felt like I was running away from an atomic bomb, such a powerful vibe

    • @TheBearestBearBearBear
      @TheBearestBearBearBear Рік тому

      @@JKM115 I like "Colonel Pash" because it creates the sense of danger in front of a very powerful and intelligent person, who can take everything you worked for in a moment and also suspects you of helping the enemies. It reminds me of BCS scene where Gus talks to Lalo about the new "chicken chiller" and Lalo knows something is definitely off about that
      I also like "Quantum Mechanics" because of its calmness and a "regular scientist routine" kind of theme, but I enjoy tracks like "Fusion", "Theorists" and "Los Alamos" more because of their "intense work to save the world" vibe which also fits servers I play where you need to constantly build new farms to not lose your grip in the market due to competition
      Also the "running away from atomic bomb" vibe sounds epic and I can understand why you experienced it while listening to the track, especially when combined with sunset. It must've been a blast cycling that way
      Also I remember someone say that if everyone has their own different favourite tracks from the movie then the whole soundtrack is good and I think that applies here since I literally can't think of any average quality tracks. All of them are great in their own field, Ludwig Göransson really succeeded in making the movie soundtrack awesome

    I have a question, what's the significance of the size of the perimeter? Does 512 (chunks or blocks?) make it so that the whole area is loaded even if you are at one corner?
