- The Magpie Salute (Black Crowes members Rich Robinson, Marc Ford, Sven Pipien and vocalist John Hogg) performing Every Picture Tells A Story (Rod Stewart / Faces cover) live at Under The Bridge, London on 13th April 2017.
Got this Stewart LP back in 76. My favorite Stewart solo, along with his Faces stuff. He would occasionally do solo stuff with the Faces anyway. Beautiful
When I was a young kid back in 92, I read about the Black Crowes on Rolling Stone Magazine. Reading about their influences and I was like: who the hell is Steve Marriott, The Faces and so on. I always kept those bands in mind...coming from Metallica and Maiden I did a 180° on my taste of music and became obsessed with TBC sound, translating it to my band. Enter the internet in the mid/late 90's opening the door to all the artists I've heard about, but never listened to their music...So the Black Crowes' influences became my influences. I was blown away. Little Feat, Humble Pie... you name it. Nowadays Rich's Songwriting has influenced mine in so many levels that all I have to say is Thank you
ChB totally hear you brothah. The energy and almost a genre the Crowes channeled was unreal. Glad see Magpie carrying this on. Just listen to 99 Lbs off of Humble Pie’s Thunderbox or Hot n Nasty. 100% Crowes feel but back in early 70s.
Never seen Rich so happy on stage, so great to see! Im 47 now , seen them more times then I remember live, His music changed not only my style of playing but my life. Rich , Marc , and Mike Campbell are my all-time favs.
Damn, I love this. This music needs to be played. Thanks Rich
Once John get comfortable with the lyrics to memory.. that's a great rendition by the band! His voice works so damn well with Rod Stewart's..
seeing them Sat night. Holy shit just hearing this one....WOW!
So good. (even with the lyric snafu's). The band sounds amazing and John Hogg's voice is great for a Rod Stewart cover.

Holy Hell...!!!! So awesome.... years ago I forgot this song I heard many times as a teenager.... then last few years, I've listened over and over. Great version... lyrics are so full, so dynamite.

These guys and rival sons,...somethin',...somethin', somethin'.!. : )
The drummer looks like a shared relative of Les Claypool and Buzz Osborne...all comedy aside, I dig the sound
Can they do Mandolin Wind???!
The drums on the cover blow Kenney Jones' playing away!!
Pretty sure it was the great Micky Waller who played drums on EPTAS. And Kenny Jones is fantastic.

Not bad. Better if singer knew the words to the song😁😎✌❤
Why no props to Nico?
Jim Toney Because the second he stood behind the post (which was most of the gig unfortunately) he was out sight of my camera lens.
Hard to sing it when you Can’t even read the words.
