I love mine. 0.5 shim on the neck. Mint green scratch plate on the sunburst. Some flatwound 11’s and it’s perfect: I need to shield it but I cba to unsolder and resolder everything. Really want a old school string mute for it 😊
Congratulation for the sweet deal you got. I bought a second hand CV Jaguar like two months ago and it is awesome. I hope you keep making videos like this, my best wishes for your offset channel.
A timely video, Rob! I've encountetered the same problem but below the 5th fret on the B and E. Dealing with a mix and match Strat body and neck. WIll follow these tips. Cheers.
I'm glad it was just needing the pocket cleaned out. On sunbursts they always spray a bit too much clearcoat on them, and it can create a high spot or ridge in the pocket. I always clean that off, making sure there's not a spot that will crack the clear or paint on the outside of the pocket later. Congrats on the good deal.
Glad to see you back! I bought one of these brand new from Guitar Center in their exclusive daphne blue color a couple years ago. I was not happy with how much the bridge wiggled and some other QA issues, and ended up returning it. I really loved the color though!
That’s a beautiful Indian Laurel fingerboard you got there ! One of the nicest i’ve ever seen. If Indian Laurel was always looking like that, there will be no problem …
@@theguitarmanifesto I put the shim on mine and after a few days i took it out because the guitar has better resonance without it, it's been a few months and I don't plan on using any shim again.
Well this guitar turned out real nice, and the solo at the end sounded very Gaslight Anthem - love it! I might need to track down a Jaguar at some point after this…

They're awesome guitars 💯🎸
I always learn something new here. Thanks!
Glad to hear it 🤘
Great find. That's the used market dream - finding something cheap with a 'problem' that you can fix in an hour!
Oh yes, sometimes you need to take a gamble in life.
Nice find! Glad the neck was better than you thought!
Sometimes you've got to take a gamble 😁
@@theguitarmanifesto ;)
Nice work getting the guitar back in action.
Thank you, it's always very satisfying 🎸💯

@@theguitarmanifesto it was all in the pocket...😂
🤣🤣 easy fix this time

Yeah it's a common issue with the paint

Shame it didn't work out 😕

Yeah I've had a lot of post 2018 Squiers with IL fingerboards on the channel, nothing like this one it really stands out 👌
Really enjoyed the video, I like how much you enjoy guitars that fit most people's budget.
Ooh yeah you don't need to spend hipster money 💯
Nice work - I fancy installing humbuckers into one of these
Something I still haven't done on the channel yet.
@@theguitarmanifesto please do - I'd love a reference to follow
I’ve seen a few setup videos for the CV Jag and they usually shimmed the neck. Glad you didn’t have to mess with that and got a shweet deal. 🤘
These later CV jags Squier have angle the neck pocket so no need to shim the neck 👌
Is that the same for the vintage modified?

Kick arse vid brother. See ya on next one!!
Thanks for dropping by bro 💯🤘
Great video mate, really enjoyed watching. I learned quite a bit from this. Looking forward to the next one 😀👍🏻
Thank you, glad you found the video helpful 😎🎸
Great video! Very informative. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video 🤘😎
Welcome back! HNY!
Happy new year
Another shweet deal and a great job sorting it out. Super stuff! 😊
Thanks I'm pleased the gamble paid off 💯👌

Thanks, glad you digged the tune 😊 yeah I definitely recommend one
After putting gibson polish on a fender-style guitar, did it develop skin problems?
It came out in a nasty hipster rash 😮🔥
What tuners do you recommend to replace the ones on my 50 vibe tele, the ones that came with it seem to slip, if that makes sense , thanks Billy
Wilkinson make some vintage style tuners, the holes on these are 8mm.
@@theguitarmanifesto thanks for the advice , appreciate it
No worries at all 💯👌
I still hope to get one ... Some day 😊
You will for sure 🎸
im thinking about buying one of these and i wonder if they have 1Meg pots in them, great video tho 😊
Thank you, yes they come with 1meg pots.
I thought Fender products had a 5 year warranty? The original owner couldn't utilize the warranty?
I ain't complaining 🤣
Great to see a successful rescue. Not being funny, but maybe you want to research the meaning of schmuck, considered a curse word in some circles.
All about the context 🤣
