@@JeffIndigo I didn't know he left his Marshall deal too tbh, Wylde Audio should just make a sub $1k Modded Marshall head then as an alternative to Splawn/Bogner/Fortin/etc imo. Price is the same as EVH
@@JeffIndigo His Wylde Audio stage amps are dummies. He runs into his JCM 800s behind the line. Or at least, he was a couple of years ago when I saw him in St. Petersburg.
Definitely one of the greatest amps ever made. Also, i think that he is doing a great job of demonstrating what the amp can do (not that we don't already know it) plays very clean and unsaturated without lots of effects stacked together.
I still cannot believe Marshall has not made a modded JCM800 series. Lots of companies do that already, Marshall sells they’re top of the line JVM models with tons of options but still for the most part a good modded single channel will crush. Just plug in and play, no multi modes etc. Roll volume down to clean up, turn up and go. Wake up Marshall.
For the record, Zakk did use and endorse Metaltronix when he joined Ozzy. No Rest For The Wicked was recorded with Metaltronix amps. After the tour he switched to JCM800s
@@ajlsrv5490 possibly, but the first thing he ever actually recorded that the general public would’ve heard was with his Lee Jackson rack on no rest for the wicked
He didn't like the sound on the initial tracks and asked to do them all over. WHen he did them over they used a JCM800 combo into a 4x12 cabinet. That is what you hear on the album. The Metaltronix are great amps though. He just didn't like them.
Sig gear never sounds like the tone i want, ive had a few Marshalls over the years 1st on was a VS100r awesome amp, then a JVM410H too many knobs and switches in the end i was fighting the amp, then got at JCM 2555x and finally get the sound i wanted a few amps from other companies in between and plenty of embarrassing amps too. Marshall has always been a reliable anchor for my sound even if the JVM was too complicated for me
I know some are no longer with the company, but can Marshall basically re-release these old sig heads as non-sigs? Like Randy/Zakk/etc tweaked Plexis/JCMs and have like "bullseye", "polka dot", "tribal", "top hat", "stripe" variants. Maybe start them off as 20w heads and see if those sell well and "demand for the big boy version" happens.
Man wish I could grab one of those, I did manage to get my Marshall JCM800 4010 combo signed by Zakk though, close as I'll get lol, he's such a great guy!
Can you, Marshall, make a production JCM 800 with 6550 valves? I think it sounds fuller and less fizzy than the EL34 one and I don't like the cosmetics of the ZW (although I like Zakk's sound!).
I think the Slash thing was a workaround that Jim Marshall did so Slash could get some more Silver Jubilees and Marshall could still turn a profit after dedicating the production space in the factory and purchasing the components necessary to build them. Jim grew up during and in the aftermath of WWII and ran his business accordingly. In "The Father of Loud" biography, Marshall stated he never took on debt to grow his company. Rather, he reinvested his money in the company and used it to grow the business.
Hello, we're celebrating our heritage by releasing playthroughs of classic or limited-edition signature amps we have made over the years - an exploration of the legendary amps in our Marshall Museum archive that are no longer in production.
I had one of these and it didnt sound anything like this. I sounded like a plexi and just loud, punchy, and clean. You really have to boost the front end. I now have an 84' 2203 and it sounds more like this. I added a HotMod to it and it sounds even better. But I never could get the ZW head to sound like this. If I could then I would still have it.
That ice pickey, nasally chug at the beginning is the end all, be all of guitar tone. It's the exact quality that makes Metallica's Ride the lightning tone great. How in the fuck do i get it?!
Why are you doing demos of amps out of production. I'm sure the Rhoads estate, his sister, would be more than happy for his amp to go back into production.
I don't think the Rhoads family wants to do a signature amp or anything unless it's commemorating an anniversary. The only thing Randy worked on to become a production model was his Jackson RR guitar before he passed and I think the family wants to keep it that way
Dear Marshall: Please re-release the YJM100 or a "Super-Plexi" with all the features that the YJM100 had. It was probably the best Marshall ever released excluding the "Golden-Era" (62-89) models. Ironically, I'm not even a Malmsteen fan, but that amp was really great.

Marshall should release all those great signature amps in a 20watts head version !

zakk is with wylde audio now, so they probably won't.

Is it more or less a 2203 with 6550 tubes? He's been using the same thing for so long, I can't imagine him switching it up at this point.

I love that sound. It just sounds aggressive but sweet with the chorus.
Sounds amazing Steve, always love your demos! Gotta love that Fozzy Ozzbourne - Miracle Max cover :P
Legendary amp for a legendary guitar player! Zakk Rules!
in my opinion, the best signature amp from marshall. it would look great at my home in augsburg 👍🏻👍🏻😂😂😎😎

pretty much any amp with higher gain than a jcm800 is what they considered to be their "mods".
I've been thinking the same thing for ages. Marshall would sell those kind of amps like crazy.
I could be wrong but I thought that's what the Jubilee line was supposed to be?
the kerry king version does that for me, with that front end eq boost and gate, of course not a regular version either
Is that a standard 1960A with G12T-75's?
Sounds so close to the original tone on Miracle Man!
For the record, Zakk did use and endorse Metaltronix when he joined Ozzy. No Rest For The Wicked was recorded with Metaltronix amps. After the tour he switched to JCM800s

My favorite Marshall. Still an ambition of mine to own it one day
Brilliant tone and playing, mate.
Zakk changed all the things that was the reason why I wished was there. Damn, that's when I was a teenage in 88. To late for this.
Now, that is my kind of amplifier!
Great riffs! Imagine that guitar with EMGs 😮🤘🤘🤘!!
Euge Valovirta has some awesome vids about this amp on his channel. Even how to get that Zakk Wilde tone across his whole discography. 🔥

is this amp a 2203x with other tubes?
Steve’s trolling us with the recent unobtanium vids. Lol!
I’m sorry, I’m still stunned every time I hear “He wanted them louder.” 2203s can cause earthquakes in stock form.
Import (USA) 800s came stock with 6550 so I don’t think he wanted it louder
That the 1960a with G12t75's?
Cool series, maybe the Satriani JVM next? Malmsteen? Slash?
You can watch the Slash video here - ua-cam.com/video/xVStSopYoBI/v-deo.html
Dave Murray and Adrian Smith deserve a Marshall signature amps, if anybody does.
If Zakk Wylde was the second Marshall signature artist, I'm guessing Slash was the first one
That's right
Correct, during the "Snakepit Days"
Kerry King had a signature also

Sorry, but what's the point of this (and other) videos released recently? To show off amps we never gonna get to play?
Yea it does kinda gives that "look what I got and you'll never have one" kind of vibe.
This is a good way for Marshall to gather customer feedback in order to inform their decision on which amp(s) to re-issue.

Did ya use EMGs and fat ass strings?
he's boosting it with a boss SD-1 just like Zakk did, it's on the pedalboard he's using, you can see it at 1:45 and the light is on
ZW also has 6550 power tubes, i dont know if this amp comes with them or if it’s EL34s
@@anthonybelladonna5675 The ZW comes with 6550s.
Hope it’s better than my 2203X was. That thing wasn’t good at all. But it was loud.
Change a few resistors slap an artist on the front and charge an extra few thou.

So... It's just a JCM 800? with different power tubes and a corny font? I'd pass
Theses sig heads are confusing too, the Kerry King has a built in eq and gate, the Satriani has some features, but how are the Zakk/Randy heads unique
