This was my first time doing a Zoom remote demo, and I should have paid more attention to the camera angle, & switched between the 2 cameras more often. While it looks like plenty of light in the video, we had to keep it quite dark at the lathe to not be washed out on camera. It was a problem, and I'm not sure what the solution is. Anyway, it was fun, and I hope informative in spite of me blowing out my captive ring. Happy shavings!
Hello David, I was wondering how in the world you chuck small cubes (like the one you use for handles) - if you care to share that with me i would appreciate it.
@@donprorak203 Thanks Don. Regarding the clock you used. What size was it and do you use other sizes of clocks in the same size wooden block (i.e., in the 4 inch block)?
@@dien2no423 I've only made a few of these with clocks, and they've all been about 1-1/2" diameter, requiring a 1-3/8" mounting hole. klockit.com has a pretty good selection in various sizes. I've also made these forms as tea light holders (1-5/8" hole), napkin rings (1-1/4" drilled through), and bowls with and without lids, whatever size looks right. Handles for some of the bowl lids were made from blocks as small as 1".

Nice work, great demo Don! What was the size of the cube you used for this demo?
This cube was 4". I've done them as large as 5" and as small as 1". I see no reason why you couldn't go larger.

@@donprorak203 Thank you for this Don, this is very helpful!
Hello Don - Do you mind sharing with me how you mounted the small cubes?
Is there a limit to how big a cube can be used ????
Hi Douglas - did you ever hear from Don? Do you know how to get in touch with him?
