The BIGGEST thing that boosted my confidence is what my therapist told me. “Not everything everybody says about you is correct.” That quite literally CHANGED the way I thought about myself. I lived in a household with a sibling that would RAG on my confidence, and damn near shattered it. Finding my confidence is a battle that I’ve been on for a while, and this video is rather helpful!

My cousin left a relationship last year and she’s just met an amazing guy, but because of she is and how she’s dealing with everything, she asked him for 6 months. Just so she can heal, work on herself etc. - they still talk now (in their 3rd month) and are building a solid friendship in the mean time. So I suggest you let him know - you like him, but you have insecurities to work on (dont we all). I've seen a lot of comments about people concerned about the cost of pampering themselves or dressing nicely and I am here to say that there are always ways around that sis! There are plenty of resale stores that have cute clothes...you just have to be willing to take the time to find them. In Missouri/Illinois there's a resale store called Savers. They always run 50% off sales. Those sale days are just about the only time I shop and I walk out with cute and well fitting jeans, dresses and tops priced between 4-10 bucks but sometimes as low as $2! Just gotta be willing to put in some time and effort to look through the racks and try everything on. Also look into getting some pampering services done at schools. You can get massages, facials, waxing, etc. for a fraction of the cost of a salon. This is not the student's first day and they are supervised by the instructor. Do your research on the school and products they use beforehand but go for it. A friend once told me that no matter how broke you are you should always make room in your budget to do something nice for yourself. This was advice given to her when she was unemployed by an older woman. She said it doesn't have to be extravagant or expensive...it could be a pair or socks or a new lipstick from the beauty supply store...the point is just to do something for yourself. Look on UA-cam for some affordable DIY pampering ideas. Check out Halfrican Beaute's Dollar Tree haul. It just takes a little time. Treat yourself like the queen you are!

man I tell you, that "being able to say no " tip really hit me because I was so caught up with making everybody happy. at one point in my life I didnt even consider what I needed I was just always there for everybody except myself. I`m not saying that having people`s back is a bad thing, but there are limits cause I lost myself trying to please others.
