stillwild must live somewhere around New Orleans where all the greats go to get spotted, but i would assure him that guitarists like this are rare, and in the UK rarer still.
On a long boring flight I clicked through the music they offered on the plane. And wow, I couldn't stop listening to this amazing gutiarplayer and incredible singer. Absolute one of my favs
Saw JST last night in San Diego. A tour de force! Quite possibly the best set I've ever seen. This girl has it all. Incredible voice and song selection, she covered blues, rock, funk and country genres and lit it up! Great band, incredible talent, can't wait to see her again.
I listened to my first Joanne Taylor video this morning. She puts her soul into playing. I hope she stays in good health to keep playing like that. Listening to many guitar players they do suffer from health wrist and hand poblems and I've tried to help musicians in any way I can.
Just enjoy the music....doesn't matter where one is born and raised...IT'S ABOUT the BLUES and I for one appreciate the time and trouble anyone puts in to be able to play as well as she does!!!!
nice work. as a professional guitarist playen' the blues for a million years, i dig this lady. obviously enjoys what she does. thanks joanne for keeping the blues alive, you rock!
I just saw this girl play a great gig in the Glasgow academy. It's a treat 2 actually see a musician who really enjoys what they do for a living.Great songs and brilliant guitar playing and 2 all the non believers out there she can really play.Get out and support Joanne because she's gonna be huge. The support was a guy called P.A.U.L who was also outstanding..
John Phillips She’s playing Stevie’s song but is nowhere near his level of greatness. He picked out each note/sound whereas she’s just riffing. God, I miss him so much, I’m still grieving for him. 😢
Did us all well with her playing "White Sugar." Did us and Stevie Ray Vaughan well and proud on "Rude Mood." Cannot wait for Joanne Shaw Taylor to make it to Charleston, SC (USA).
Top notch. Nice to see a Tele getting a workover, and a pretty lady playing the blues. I'm gonna get one of her records now. Sorry I mean CDs or downloads. Showing my age.
I was stood next to Paul Lamb watching this at Colne, this set was the end of the afternoon sessions, and Paul had just finished his set. I'd gone across to see him with the Kingsnakes, but this was the highlight of the festival for me.
Part of playing the blues is the way you paly them and your body language. she's great and has mojo1 shes hot to boot! I'll bet there are more female blues players than you think and they don't come to trhe front. i just found Joanne about 20 mins ago thru amazon. great find.
Dang ... young lady can play that thang! I love the way she has fun at putting emotion and power in her playing! It would be interesting to see her and Samantha Fish together... they would have to have the Fire department on stand by ... because Samantha and Joanne would burn the house down! 👍👍😎
So much like early Ten Years After,'60s early '70s, those were the days and can't believe how she has that second nature thing going on, ''GET SOME''!! Most hear SRV I hear Big Brother& The Holding Co.,Ten Years, Johnny Winter, Acid trails of Hendrix,Kenny Wayne Sheppard, yea SRV too, but mostly Joanne Taylor Shaw i SPADES!
Love her Telecaster sound, my old Tele NEVER sounded that good, although our bass player at the time always asked me if I would turn the trebble down a bit on my old Marshall. I told hime I could but I woudn't!
i live 2 minutes from where the cowpie blues festival was and I am still beating myself up for not going. she headlined, and I missed one hell of a show
I have to agree that this woman is the best living guitarist that I've ever heard since Stevie Ray Vaughn. She's got one major thing over Vaughan though. I've never imagined what SRV looks like in a bikini! ;) LOL
@fairlyfastfreddie1 What she's playing is a based around a classic 3 chord 12 bar blues structure and her soloing is using mostly pentatonic scales. Most definitely the Blues - with some Rock & Roll thrown in.
Love Joanne on that tele. She get's such a raw, gutsy sound & it suits her excellent right hand attack. Not a fan of the LP, where she sounds more mellow & polite. Regardless, she's an incredible blues musician.

I just was introduced to this young lady. OMG can she rock. I love her.
On a long boring flight I clicked through the music they offered on the plane. And wow, I couldn't stop listening to this amazing gutiarplayer and incredible singer. Absolute one of my favs
Stevie Ray, Jimmi, Johnny Winter, Joanne Shaw Taylor. And the beat goes on!!
Stevie Ray Vaughan reborn ! He is now a woman and called Joanne Shaw Taylor ! Fabulous !!!
Damn she absolutely tears up the fretboard, what a talent!!!!

Precious few can actually play this stuff at full speed. Joanne is divine. Has been ever since I first learned about her almost a decade ago.
Just enjoy the music....doesn't matter where one is born and raised...IT'S ABOUT the BLUES and I for one appreciate the time and trouble anyone puts in to be able to play as well as she does!!!!

the very beginning sounds like old school fabulous T-Birds! I have watched this video so many times you have no idea
if you ever get the chance to see her perform, you gotta go. One of the best out there, regardless of gender!
Joanne is one cool, confident & talented young lady. She has a wicked groove & is easy on the eye. I predict a big future for her.

She is amazing! Have loved her music for years.
you are so true...since the first song..i recognized THE GREAT SRV INFLUENCE ON HER STYLE! And i think thats a good thiing. A VERY GOOD THING!
You realize after White Sugar she's playing all SRV tunes right? Pretty big "influence" (aka sounds like) when you're playing his song.
John Phillips She’s playing Stevie’s song but is nowhere near his level of greatness. He picked out each note/sound whereas she’s just riffing. God, I miss him so much, I’m still grieving for him. 😢
She is awesome.......going to Virginia Beach to see her in Sept. Would love to see her play with Anna Popavich!!!!!
Effin wow!!!!!!
Did us all well with her playing "White Sugar." Did us and Stevie Ray Vaughan well and proud on "Rude Mood." Cannot wait for Joanne Shaw Taylor to make it to Charleston, SC (USA).

There is nothing more appealing than an attractive blonde girl playing a telecaster like Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Great fun to see a white girl playing the blues so well. Impressed by the guitar game, song, everything is brilliant.
