I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
Romantic relationships are pointless, while platonic relationships are necessary.
Honestly, I will be okay if I never have a relationship like yours, but I really have made it a life goal to get my eyebrows to look like both of yours.

Amazing! My boyfriend of 5 years and I have a very similar story! I was also 16 and he was 18 when we met. We met through a church I just started going to and he really liked my but he never had the guts to come up and talk to me. At the time I was doing 'TBH' on Facebook all the time. (It was 2012) at the end of may that year, he sent me a tbh over messaging. From there we started texting and then finally talked in person in July at McDees after youth group!
Fast forward to today, I have sadly taken 3 years off of school and he graduated community college last year and now lives on the other side of the country (Canada.. we are from Nova Scotia and he's in Alberta) working as a Marketer because there are no jobs here in NS. Our 5 year anniversary will be in October. I'm hoping he will be moving back home and we can go back to college together!

Y'all are so cute! You guys make me feel like an old lady, but despite that fact, I love you two! I married my high school sweetheart, who was also two years ahead of me, in March of 2007 after being together since 2002. We are still very much in love and have two kids - 6 (boy) & 4 (girl), and most importantly, we are still very much.....Florida fans. Go Gators!
