Why does everyone always freak out about Lori not wearing gloves? She's explained it a bunch of times. In her long career she's never contracted any bugs. The soaking and stuff removes any germs except maybe fungus. She's not worried about it and has never had an issue. Thank you for the informative videos Lori!
My concern about her not wearing gloves would not be regarding her catching something from my feet. My concern would be about her transferring something from someone else's feet TO my feet. It is called protecting your client FROM infection. Glad I am able to do my own feet and nails. In fact, before my mother went into long term care I did her finger and toe nails, with gloves. And as it turned out, I did a better job that the podiatrist staff tech ever did once she was in long term care. Unfortunately, they would not permit me to do her toe nails (I still did he finger nails). and she was only permitted under medicare and medicaid once every 90 days, which sucked because her toe nails grew like wild fire and by the time the podiatrist would trim again, she would have split and broken nails and sore toes. Hope I stay limber. so I can keep doing mine myself. In fact, I wear gloves when I do my own toe nails.

So I’m rewatching videos and it registered this time. You’re right as teenagers our big toes do tend to have issues that we grow out of. I used to I remember now. At one point I got scared I was having ingrown toenails and then someone taught me the cotton trick. That friend had ingrown toenails and it was her trick. So I started putting a piece of cotton soaked in rubbing alcohol right under the edge of my toenails and that stopped my painful sides on my toe. It was actually now I realize just beating up on the toes plus dead skin building up under it. As an adult I have no issues unless I’ve been wearing uncomfortable shoes frequently and not cleaning my toenail sides out. Wow!
I am not a teenager although i do have the toe nail pain, i believe there is dried skin under my nail causing pain. When i press or walk on that foot it hurts like heal. So i believe its a different issue than ingrown toenail. I soaked my feet and took a slight piece of toenail off with some skin. It helped alot.
That's what ingrown nails feel like! Omgeee I know how you feel. It's like when you finally get that dead skin and the smallest piece of nail. Such a relief!
I'm so excited to see a new video! I've talked my husband into getting a pedicure kit. He has had toenail fungus for years and it's terrible! His podiatrist said there was nothing to be done so just keep his shoes on. Can you believe it??? We're ordering your nail mycosis solution and a pedicure kit. I'm going to do what his doctor wasn't willing to do and hope & pray that his feet are socially acceptable in a year for our oldest son's wedding!
Erin Healy hope his feet get air daily..sandals..no socks..some sun..walks along the beach or lake if at all possible..all while you are using a Nail mycosis kit. And get rid of shoes that may have the fungus shed inside them..and start new. I got rid of my husbands fungus and it is so appreciated.
I had ingrown nails on both big toes removed 2yrs ago and it was deep. I had to see a podiatrist and she lifted up the whole side of the skin and clipped a large amount of nail out. I am young too and went for years like this in pain. I only noticed something was wrong, when puss started coming out. The pain was more like sensitivity in that area. They put a solution on the area so that the ingrown does not grow back ever (or they hope) but it took a few weeks to heal and I had large bandages on my toes. Luckily it was summer!
Sure are a lot of armchair experts around here. Frankly, I learned a lot from this video and enjoyed it more than I expected. Nice work! Your clients are lucky ones.
Finally! I have been following this channel for years… and have drastically improved my toenail problems; however, this video describes the EXACT issue that I’ve had with my big toe for decades. I have a double toenail. When I was a teenager, I had my foot stomped on during a soccer match. My toenail eventually fell off but got extremely ingrown & infected when it tried to grow back. I had to have the right side of my nail removed by my doctor (not a podiatrist). He didn’t use acid to destroy the nail matrix…. I have found relief using the tools & products from Lori’s store but I still have discomfort on occasion. Lori, if you happen to read this comment on a video from the archives (LOL), would you recommend that I have that sliver of a double nail removed by a podiatrist and the matrix destroyed? I’m using the nail mycosis & oil, which really helps, but it eventually gets super tight in my sidewall and I have to sorta pull it out if I can. It can be a little painful to remove it, but it doesn’t bleed, just hurts due to the irritation it caused when growing/compacting into my sidewall. Thoughts?
I am so happy I stumbled across your channel. I have learned so much for my nails, hands and toes. And I can honestly say my ingrown nails have become so much more manageable with the techniques I have learned here!
I haven't had a pedicure before, but when I go for facials the aesthetician will keep quiet if I keep giving 1 word answers at the start of the session. If you're worried about coming out as rude, you could always apologise and say that you're tired that day.
Your videos are so satisfying to watch! With your help and advice, it’s helped me so much to perform pedicures and have a better visual and understanding rather than only a a school manual to refer to. Sure it’s explained , but these videos are really indepth and such a great help! Thanks to you and your clients!
I'm having that same issue on my left big toe, painful 😫 for no reason. I got in there yesterday and pulled out what I could & a few nips, Povidon-iodine & organic coconut oil. Thank you Lori!
I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I have a similar issue with my right big toe, but on the inside. I'm pretty sure it's 'cuz the toe next to it is overlapping it due to the RA that's made it crooked. The skin gets very thick and rolls and is pushed into the groove causing a lot of pressure. OUCH! But it's good to see that I've been doing the correct thing to remedy the issue. I need the correct tools though to simplify the process. TFS.
I never get tired on watching over and over again because I really learned a lot,,,, and it helps me for my daily job,,,,,, thank you very much for uploading vedios
I’m addicted to your videos. I received my kit I ordered, and have ordered more this week. I do my husbands feet, and I’m actually looking forward to using all my new goodies! Thanks for your knowledge.
Brenda Roden I enjoy doing my husbands toenails also...I got rid of his fungus ( on an outer coroner of his toenail) on a great toe that had been there for over a year..new husband..haha.
I love watching your videos. I wish I could find a wonderful person like you near me to get a pedi from, better yet, I wish I could get a pedi from you.
You certainly have a gift, because I have never been able to sit through tedious projects such as manicures or pedicures but watching you work was calming and relaxing to me,and I am high energy! Thank you for sharing, this made me want to sit down and actually do someone's toes!
😳 I thought u were going to use that other tool to cut up the sides and remove the nail that’s pushing down into her sides maybe I should have watched full video b4 replying lol okay my nail spa does pedicures a little different but yours was still good tho .
Ever since i started getting pedicures at the age of 21 i started getting ingrown nails, i never would get them before. 9 years later i still get painful ingrown nails on my big toe nails
never knew you could have double toenails! always learn something when i watch your videos laurie, i wish you lived closes to me so i could apprentice with you!!
I just found your channel a few days ago and I have been binge watching. I couldn't wait to tell my sister about you because we both love watching satisfying videos like this. You do an amazing job and i have already learned so much. Every time I watch your videos it makes me want to give myself or someone else a pedicure. I just need to get all the awesome tools that you have.
Love your videos! I think this is what's happening with my little toes. I looked up "6th nail" (don't know if you are familiar with it). The pinkie toes seem to grow a side nail that is harder than skin but not quite nail either. They will split eventually and you just have to cut it out. It's really annoying! It's just the pinkie toes none of the other nails do this. My thumbnails like to split on the sides too but that's probably another issue.
@@peachyrider9987 yes. I have psoriasis and this same issue on my right pinky toe. When I removed the double nail it caused a psoriasis flare and now my regular toenail is all jacked
Toes get into accidents too, you know. 😒 Toenails have accidents too. Or maybe you can be born with fucked up nails. I have issues with most of My nails, fingers and toes. It's not always just about proper footwear. Just saying.
@@dmhq-administration the original comment doesn't knock down on people who were born with bad nails or those who injured them. In fact, proper footwear is even more important for people who have predispositions to nail issues.

Thoughts?
So hard to tell through text, book a virtual appt with me and I'm sure I can help. www.meticulousmanicurist.com/virtual-appointment
I am so happy I stumbled across your channel. I have learned so much for my nails, hands and toes. And I can honestly say my ingrown nails have become so much more manageable with the techniques I have learned here!

Here's something I always wonder about... I'm not a big talker and like to just enjoy the pampering. Do you find it awkward when a client is quiet?
marie mcfarland letting a comment for later. Don't mind me :)
I’ve always wondered that too! I don’t wanna come off as rude either
I’ve never had my toes done.
I haven't had a pedicure before, but when I go for facials the aesthetician will keep quiet if I keep giving 1 word answers at the start of the session. If you're worried about coming out as rude, you could always apologise and say that you're tired that day.
As long as you come off more shy than rude then it really doesn't matter because sometimes as the service provider we like to be quiet too
This is the content I love and look forward to! You never disappoint!!!
I've become a huge fan. Ur technique is amazing. Plus the way you treat ur clients. No wonder u r so busy.
Your videos are so satisfying to watch! With your help and advice, it’s helped me so much to perform pedicures and have a better visual and understanding rather than only a a school manual to refer to. Sure it’s explained , but these videos are really indepth and such a great help! Thanks to you and your clients!
What a great video. It's so nice to have this outlet to continue to learn and better my skills and my business. Thank you so much.
Video is just on time, I’m doing my own pedicure today! ❤️
Anyone else find these videos so satisfying 😂
Holy crap, this is exactly the issue I have with my toes!
I need someone like you as my nail lady. You take great care of your clients.
I have never heard of a double toe nail. I always learn something on your videos. Thanks.
I thought I was a total freak for having them!

Dawn Baker sounds like she knows the girl from home
hold up, what?
The Thing With Hers Is That She Was Lucky And It Didn’t Penetrate the Skin As It Was Growing So it Ended Up Come Out The Side.
I don't know why I'm so satisfied watching this vid 👀 I can feel how mesmerizing it was after the cleaning 😅
I'm having that same issue on my left big toe, painful 😫 for no reason. I got in there yesterday and pulled out what I could & a few nips, Povidon-iodine & organic coconut oil. Thank you Lori!
I learn so much about caring for myself and others. Thank you.
Amazing nail polish remover
I love watching your videos 😍
I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I have a similar issue with my right big toe, but on the inside. I'm pretty sure it's 'cuz the toe next to it is overlapping it due to the RA that's made it crooked. The skin gets very thick and rolls and is pushed into the groove causing a lot of pressure. OUCH! But it's good to see that I've been doing the correct thing to remedy the issue. I need the correct tools though to simplify the process. TFS.
Love when you upload! That’s my day made 😍❤️
This was a good one. I can only imagine her relief from you removing that nail.
I love hearing you laugh as you interact with your clients, so kind!
I love watching your videos. I wish I could find a wonderful person like you near me to get a pedi from, better yet, I wish I could get a pedi from you.
I always learn something new when I watch your videos. Thanks. Hope to see more soon
*teenagers are more active on there feet.*
Me: oh really?..
You certainly have a gift, because I have never been able to sit through tedious projects such as manicures or pedicures but watching you work was calming and relaxing to me,and I am high energy! Thank you for sharing, this made me want to sit down and actually do someone's toes!
You make me want to be a nail technician
Glad you are getting her feet together, her skin looks so young
I love watching your videos!! I'm a cosmetology student and I've always been so fascinated with ingrown nails and double toenails! It's gross but cool
Probably one of my most favorite videos from you
It’s so fun to watch & learn! My husband was agape! lol
Just found you and I am obsessed! You are so gentle & thorough , i need you to do my pedicure someday
Love from India , good work nail angel .
I go to a nail spa n omg they do pedicures like this Amazing best ever! I get a pedicure once a month been going for about 9 years once a month
Because the nail salons like to cut round for a pretty look .. uou can get a podiatrist to remove them
@@patricebarrett5845 i get them to cut mine squared shape lol
They're cutting your nails incorrectly. Used to have this issue then I stopped them from cutting my nails just file down.
I was sooooo excited when you reached for the Ingrown sidewall remover tool!!!! Yeah 😁😁😁😁
never knew you could have double toenails! always learn something when i watch your videos laurie, i wish you lived closes to me so i could apprentice with you!!
I just found your channel a few days ago and I have been binge watching. I couldn't wait to tell my sister about you because we both love watching satisfying videos like this. You do an amazing job and i have already learned so much. Every time I watch your videos it makes me want to give myself or someone else a pedicure. I just need to get all the awesome tools that you have.
i was waiting for a new tutorial. l am learning a lot from them all, thanks.
I love your videos I've been a nail tec for 12 years you always do wonderful work
Thank You Samantha Kushner xoxo
Love your videos! I think this is what's happening with my little toes. I looked up "6th nail" (don't know if you are familiar with it). The pinkie toes seem to grow a side nail that is harder than skin but not quite nail either. They will split eventually and you just have to cut it out. It's really annoying! It's just the pinkie toes none of the other nails do this. My thumbnails like to split on the sides too but that's probably another issue.
I have that same issue
@@nonunka1 do you guys have psoriasis that runs in your families? Mine does the same.
@@peachyrider9987 yes. I have psoriasis and this same issue on my right pinky toe. When I removed the double nail it caused a psoriasis flare and now my regular toenail is all jacked
I have this on my pinkie toes too
My pinkie toes do that!
Wearing the right footwear for your feet is soo important too.
Not only for feet or posture but including balance development, walking/joints and muscles tonus!
I wish i am living near ur workplace so i could get a pedi from a skilled person like u
