One is a troll; one is the son of Darkseid, but both were created by Jack Kirby, and are strikingly similar!

The fact that these are only 6 dollars in difference but one is a completely new sculpt, has better paintjob and articulation, while also being significantly bigger, shows how much Marvel Legends have been slacking while raising the prices for no real reason.
Also, and I forgot to mention this, Ulik was originally released years ago (with a couple minor differences) as an SDCC exclusive
On that same thought process, the price of Batmoblie vs the ghost rider car. Showing hasbro is slacking. Todd showed it can be done, it's not the plastic or w/e.
New sculpt is true. But McFarlane don't have accessories always 1 to zero. That's where Hasbro wins.
@@dvw7665 A few weeks ago I would've agreed with you, but some McFarlane figures have a decent amount of accessories, and judging by the last Spider-Man wave that Hasbro announced, they are shorting on accessories too.

I think you’re right all the way kalibak has more plastic and value and is bigger and more detailed you’re so fun to watch and so good at reviewing big fan
This was such a good comparison because it does something great, it shows that both McFarlane Dc and Hasbro Marvel are a lot more similar than people give them credit for!!
This was so close and almost any round could have gone either way!
I was on the fence with Kalibak but I think you just sold me on him entirely! When you get around to covering the traditional Kyle Rayner costume (if you do) I would love to see him beside Kaliback, since he faced off against him a few times in his original run, and I would be using Kalibak as a lantern villain!

I preordered Kalibak from Amazon- GameStop had a price error up for a couple days at $24.99 so hopefully they price match. If it ends up being $40, I just won’t pick him up from the locker. I like him, but not for $40- I picked up the old DCUC baf at my local comic shop a few years ago and he looks awesome, he is just not well articulated or big enough.
I probably need to sell most of my DC collection. I have so many cool looking figures and I have no connection to most of the source material outside of 90s cartoons.

I’ve noticed a lot of characters have a comparable character in dc and marvel. I remember kalibak from the 90’s Superman cartoon.
When I saw the vid I thought they were a different versions of the same character

I have both and I have to give it to kalibak I love the sculpt and detail he has . Ulik is on the rhino body which is ok but could have been better
Ulik is fine but yeah, Kalibak is fantastic
I think Kalibak’s weapon is a mace and he should be holding it like an axe. Just a guess tho, the promos didn’t do it much justice🤷♂️

Both these figures are pretty awesome but I have to give posability to Ulik. Kalibak’s lack of thigh swivel really hurts how he stands and crouches. It’s hard to make he look natural.
Everything else I agree with so I’m calling it a draw.
An argument could definitely be made for that.

I don't need Ulik the Troll from Hasbro because I will just consider getting the Hasbro retro carded Classic Loki because I like Jack Kirby's look for the character, I even don't care if people don't like Hasbro's Loki because he looks so very cool to me, Great review Jason.

I love your videos and I’d like to make a request: please do a versus with the new Hasbro Marvel Legends Mojo and the Mojo BAF from a while back. I’ve compared them and it’s interesting each has things better than the other. I’d love to hear your take on it. Thanks and keep it up!

Also, This is not Thor related but are you looking forward to the Hush Superman new Eradicator, Kon El Superboy, Steel, as well as the 2nd release comic Ultron, new Egghead, as well as the new updated comic Black Widow? Because I do need Ultron, Black Widow, Hush Superman and Kon El Superboy.
I'm going to hold on and see if they make a Reign of Supermen Eradicator, but I am stoked for the others for sure
