It wasn't in black and white, I was there ;)
Ha. !
One of the Best LIVE Bands ever in Music History !!!
Oh man Deep Purple, 1972, takes me back to my high school days.
London, 30th September 1972, Brixton Sundown..........I was there. What a gig.
The best live version of this song is from the "Made in Japan" album and showcases Deep Purple to perfection.
Smoke on the water too
You need to listen to Highway Star from the "Made In Japan" Album, the best version of the song ever made..
Correct. When the live concert is better than the studio version.
And full version please of.... space truck'en live....Brilliant....fools... live at Monterey jazz festival....brilliant also
Yesssss...
One of the best rock vocalist of all times!!...the great-IAN GILLAN.
One of the most iconic rock song of all the time. More Deep Purple 💜
This live performance is so raw, just the way Metal should be.
Insane out of this world Deep Purple Mark2 Line Up yeaaaaaaaah
Ian Gillan did the same in '80s and '90s too. Mic stand Is a great weapon 😂
I was 2 years old in 1972 and Deep Purple was one of the bands my dad was into, I was raised on classic rock and heavy metal throughout the 70s and early 80s. Thanks dad! This makes me feel like a kid again.
I was 9 yrs old when this was released. Some of the best rock music ever!
You have now experienced the greatest high-speed driving song of all time.
Still casting my vote for "Radar Love".
Singer Ian Gillan was breaking up a fight in the audience. This song got people excited
When I was in high school circa’78-79, driving my ‘69 Mach 1 as fast as possible down I-95 in south Florida...the good old days!!!! You just cannot drive slow to this!!!
Am glad to see your generation appreciates our classic music!
I can't begin to tell you what a treat it is to see these young ladies enjoying this classic gem! My first concert was Deep Purple on 73 I think @ 15 years old, This song definitely stands up to time!!
Even live performance of a song by Deep Purple is unique. Blackmore, Lord and Paice were all masters of variation and improvisation.
9:51...Violence. I recall GILLAN beating up some big tough guy in Tampa Florida 1973...because he wanted the microphone. That was back before cell phone cameras could capture the moment. Lucky for those rock stars back then, right? It was like the old West.
I'm pretty sure that a guard was being rough with a kid and Gillian hit him with the mic stand.
yes, that's what happened. Gillan was known for a sense of fair play, and wouldn't stand for unnecessary aggression from security.
Tina S. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata 3 rd movement .. She is talent from another planet !
He doesn't sound like "somebody". They sound like him - Ian.
I have a plum crazy 1971 AMC Javelin (google it) with the Deep Purple logo painted on the rear spoiler in homage to Highway Star.
Deep Purple was one of the top bands in the early '70's in terms of popularity. Listen to Speed King or Bloodsucker from the In Rock album. Very high energy!
The Studio version was much better even without the missing lyrics due to that mic experience :)
Saw them perform this at The World Famous Royal Albery Hall in West London around this time with 5,000 others. As the venue sold out they allowed us to sit "Up In The Gods"
in the Top Tier for 25 PENCE or 34 CENTS.......same soon after for Creedence Clearwater Revival...
Very coool. !
Ritchie don't like to be on camera..the boys fighting on stage...love it.
The sister with the red lipstick got it. This was an ass kickin rock number by one of the best rock outfits ever. Other sister was too distracted by periphery stuff.
Deep Purple 1974 "Burn" live at a California Jam
You really MUST react to the 1970 live concert when Deep Purple perform "Child in Time". Amaaaazing and much better sound. Ian Gillan really shows what an outstanding singer he is and the whole band are at their best in that video! Also live version of "Fireball" !
I was 1972 2 years old but listen that song first time 1992.
Hahahahaha that ian gillan screaming to someone in the public xD first time that i realize that and i have seen that concert a million times
It was tunes like this that made me pick up drumsticks & start "Bangin' Heads!" Played, more or less, continuously from 1976-2008-10, or so. Still pound on furniture and/or other household items!-lol
The best live performance by DEEP PURPLE is in a tv studio version of "CHILD IN TIME" do that video - you will be floored by the greatness of the song and performance. Their gold standard.
You surely know the guitar riff of "Smoke on the water".
Most popular and most easy to play guitar riff of all times i would say.
And a rrrrrreaction to "Child in time" would be very nice.
You listen to the Made in Japan live album, (deluxe edition) it is one of the best live albums ever.
Some trivia. Ian Gillian sang the role of in the original recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera (1970)
Very good rock song!
l can recommend the song Anthem Deep Purple
Regarding Ian Gillan hitting something with the mic stand, I think he was trying to stop a bouncer who was being aggressive to some of the crowd.
..and Blackmore freaking out and smacking into Gillian
Yes that’s what happened.
Love the STAR Labs shirt! On their tour bus in 1971, an interviewer asked how they write songs. The guitarist started playing a riff and the singer started improvising over it. After the interview they worked on the song and performed it that night.
Anything you want to play by Deep Purple is super cool !!!!!
Deep purple forever
Glad you choosing lots of dedp purple. My reguest is for you to put on those beadphones on andtake a wild trip with space trucking live from made in japan. 5 musicians and the top of their games jamming an encore like no one else. Driving none stop drums 4 20 minues. Th3 great jon lord doing what only he could do. Sounds you didnt even were possible. Slick guitar played with violin bow. Just close your eyes and alter ur minds
It was LIVE - not a studio recording.
Good catch on the vocal level....WAY out of proportion.
Legendary band. Legendary album. You’d love “Lazy’!
I am from denmark 🎶🎶🎶🇩🇰
Machine head first album I ever bought this track and lazy and pictures of home just stood out so much it’s not just music it’s my youth and my life when I play them
You kids managed it !! You screwed it up big time for us from the 60s !! Bless You both !
The singer probably reminds you of Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden or even Dio
Best band ever.
Late 60's and 70's no auto tune you put up or shut up best time for music!
🤘💜🤘
Haha... I haven't laughed and smiled so much to your reactions in a while. Such a Great Rrrrrrrrreaction! 📞🤪
Keep in mind that this is a brand new song that hadn't been released yet. There are some better live videos/recordings of this song on UA-cam, but this was cool to see. Thanks.
Ian Gillan improvised some of the lyrics
When Gillian hits the guy with the mic stand he is going after a security guard who is telling kids to get back in their seats.
YEP!!
Hi! I recommend you listen to "Child on time" by deep purple, video live 1970, your beautiful minds will blow away, a big hug from Chile, cheers!
Good music, and of course sisters....🤗
It sounds like only one of the two tracks were playing but the half I heard sounded very good!
His voice is high in the mix, probably sounds different to the live audience than on the video.
Aaah les 2 soeurs, continuer, j'adores vos réactions È)
Great dancing skills girls
Hi you two. i
I have been enjoying your reactions. I think Tina S doing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (Third Movement) might blow your minds! She was 17 years old when she did it. She also did a bunch of covers from other bands, which you will see when you type her name in, but I think that the Beethoven one is the first one to react to. Cheers from Ontario!
React to Deep Purple, "Child In Time" (LIVE!!!).
Some Uriah heep... dedicated to the hammond player who just died.
"Traveler In Time" or "Look At Yourself"
Drummer Ian Paice inspiration to Lars Ulrich, Deep Purple your favourite band!
He was Ian Gillan breaking up a fight. He one hit a security guard for hitting a kid a bit much. Ritchie Blackmore once kicked a promoter in the head for Ruffin up a kid. The guy he hit was a big shit and they arrested them tried to sneak him out in a case. I think he spent three to five days in jail in Norway or Sweden or one of those countries. Remember those concerts were rough and Rumble nobody behaved back then there was fights everywhere
Sorry girls but your wrong about the volume being lower on the instrument compared to the singers Microphone. It because that how Ian sings. It’s all actually at the same volume.
now you should see the whole 1972 concert in denmark of deep purple
No one could beat these guys live, Gillan was on another planet
In the studio Zeppelin couldn't be touched but for me a full-on live Purple with Lord and Blackmore tearing it up was - as you say - unbeatable
Thanks!
Otra banda legendaria, precursora de la música pesada!.
A....💓💞💓💞💓💞💓💞
acaban de sacar un disco nuevo hace umos meses jajaj
Ian Gillans shouting at over zealous security people
Deep Purple one off the greatest and most influantial rock bands in the world with a lot of storys, especialy around gitarist Richie Blackmore!!!

check out Deep Purple - Child in Time live
The incident with the mic-stand - Ian Gillan was throwing a bouncer out for overdoing his job. He's never been afraid to tackle bad security. I agree that the vocals are way too loud in the mix, by the way.
Machine Head was the first album I ever bought, love that you're reacting to DP
Me too, at 10 years old in '71, I rode up to Our local small town drug store on my bike, & bought with My hard earned lawn mowing money, Deep Purple Machine Head, just because of the look of the album cover, as I knew nothing about DP yet.... needless to say, when I got home & dropped the needle on the ol'phonography & cranked it up to crackle, I never turned back, seem to make quite a impression Ma'n'Pa too, cause it definitely was no Hank Williams, laff'n ~ Peace Out....& Rock On Beyonder
I would have suggested studio version first listen
brings back a lot of memories
yeah the Deep Purple was legend though, and this 2 girls wearing a good color of lipstick lol
Written on tour bus interview I believe in like 15 minutes to show the interviewer they could write a hit song in a few minutes
xD poor girls, first time that they listen this masterpiece and Ian got agressive xD
He was trying to get out a photographer in the audience - basically get out from front of stage.
De lo mejor en mi juventud !! la próxima Child in Time , please
The right girl killing me!!!
Check out child in time live bbc 1970 to see what deep purple is all about..the singer Ian Gillan will blow you away and it’s in color he has influenced many rock singers and deep purple is one of the most influential rock bands in history.. and then you’ll have a new subscriber.
Hey Girls,
You've definateky heard Smoke on The Water before, that is the ultimate classic rock song that got band from guitar shops to preserve mental health of their employees :D
Also Lars Ulrich from Metallica saw them when he was a kid and that's how he wanted to play music, that was probably this show
Take care !
In addition to lead vocal duties for Deep Purple, Ian Gillan sang the title role of the original 1970 London cast version of Jesus Christ Superstar. His voice is a force of nature.
The live version is so much better than the studio version. The live album Made in Japan is pretty good.
Bruce Dickinson from ironmaiden
This is hunswem ian gillan in the lead vocal.he was young.
You need to listen to the studio version
hes doing the police dont mess with this band
Now you need to try child in time live 1970
Listen to the "studio album" version and don't pause it ... listen to the entire song, then respond !
@Richard Hopkins Because they are confused with this version and they are to young to know "classic rock"
@@robadootwo talking about confused "Made in Japan Live" double album, gold cover with them on stage is the best versions of Highway Star, Child in time, Lazy, Space Trucking, etc. Don't believe? Check it out. Kick back with headphones on, close your eyes and enjoy the ride. If driving do so at your own risk!
@@frankt... I know the album and it is good but this version of Highway star is not that great. These two gals are too young to appreciate good music.
It looks like someone in the audience grabbed the mic stand
React to child in time deep purple
Listen to the studio version.
Too much sweet...
imy guess is that someone maybe a technician got his feet caught in the 100 ft long mike cord
🇮🇹🤟🏻🤟🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is a song about a car one would assume .. but .. it is actually a song about a girl.
Cheers 🍺
