The Traveler is the playable protagonist of Genshin Impact. At the beginning of the game, both genders are twin siblings from another world, traveling throughout the universe, until an unknown god blocked and captured one of them, and sealed their power to travel, leaving them stranded on Teyvat.

Honestly just being able to switch elements in the character menu so I don’t have to go to a statue every time would be a godsend.

I dreamt once that that the Traveler could switch the elements on the go, making combos as a dmc character.
However, I was not able to have other party members.
this sounds like something i saw a few months ago idk where.
Someone said that in the end game you could have 4 elements to switch for the final battle, but you couldnt have any party members cause the elements replaced those spots
Makes sense since traveler kinda fights alone. I'm pretty sure it would be a great but it will require a buff (of original stats)

This is still a gacha game so don't expect them to do something that would make paid characters unnecessary or unwanted.

I feel like this would be extremely useful for open world, like geo traveler for a puzzle, anemo for collecting dandelions, electro for Sakura blooms, and the future elements for those pillars

anemo is good to bring some enemies to you, or knockback with a good damage, also feed the fire on the field, sometimes is good to drag itens that was droped where we can't react
Also, at least for me personally, I tend to lag out when I teleport or change team, so this concept would save me the minute it takes to log back on
Not really since most of the time or almost certainly acctually the things you stated are specific to special regions across Tevtat, hence when farming for them you would go to statue of seven to change elements. I would get the case if let's say dandelion seeds and electro puzzle were near each other, then it would be a handy feature. Yes going to statue of seven is annoying to change element... but then again think no one uses traveler for that purpose only when you have other 4/5 star characters at your disposal. Love how Hoyoverse game is well thought out. But I do see where you are coming from.
Also Pyro And hydro traveler for collecting those elemental flowers all over teyvat
I really hope this becomes a feature. After that one scene with Childe, it would be cool to switch from elements like that with the traveller, it would be so cool in battle, but also very useful for some puzzles SO I DONT NEED TO MEEP CHANGING PARTY MEMBERS ALL OF THE TIME

Imagine if there is a menu screen where you can pick Traveller's elemental skills and burst from the elements they had unlock so people can customize their own kit. Like a hydro skill and dendro burst for example. They already showed us the Traveller can use elements simultaneously after all.

i think now in navias story quest the traveler switches to geo mid way through as well from whatever element they had as well
The traveler may just become one of the stronger 5* as the game gets developed.
If ever the traveler gained their original power back, I assume it would be the moment they also gain an animation of their own for their burst.
Edit: Remember we don't know the true power of the Traveller, since they lost it. As of now, they rely on elemental energy provided by the statues.
Adding - Any character can be a good character if you know how to build them. Even Aloy to an extent. In the end its not what character is "good/op", its if you *enjoy playing* said character.
they're not giving out a strong unit for free. gacha games don't work like that and never will. Either grind or pay.
Edit: and to the people saying that other Gacha games give out good units for free, they are more than likely declining Gacha games that nobody has ever even heard of in a pathetic attempt to retain players.

as a noobie player who put off genshin impact for the longest time bc i knew i'd form an addiction who is now AR29 and just finished the jade chamber's sacrifice/childe's domain i main lumine/traveller bc she is the only anemo character i have and even if she wasn't i'd still main traveller bc shes awesome for 1 and 2 she is my highest levelled character bc i love just levelling the mc up bc she is the mc and in most of the story quest's cutscenes so like-
For me Geo Traveller works so well with Zhongli. And I found it really weird to do quests and using another character instead of Traveller. So I kept Lumine in my Team since day one. Never switching back to Anemo tho.

i personally as a new player like wind version, the wind blade or whatever its called ability is great for interrupting annoying small enemies, and the tornado thing is great at control and setup, just pop that lined up with max enemies and possibly another element to fuse into the tornado, quick swap to another character to activate aoe abilities before they escape to max dps, imo the starter character is only bad against huge enemies like the shield ones since the control part of it is lost
@@deathi Best part about Anemo is Swirl, but especially with Pyro. Watching it spread like wildfire and burning enemies is pleasing to the eyes.

That wheel with the elements is exactly what I envisioned for endgame Traveler after getting all 7 elements. Able to swap in an instant. It'd be so cool and lore accurate since they can use multiple at once.

Main reason why this probably won't happen: Having traveler be far more versatile than other units probably decrease sales on event units

true but if travellers attacks aren't very strong, some people will still prefer to have other units. plus some people really hate travellers play style
While it may sound reasonable this is pretty far from what actually happens. Do people stop pulling for 5 star characters after they achieve their "perfect" team? no, they keep pulling for more. Whales continue whaling for the new characters. Giving this to the traveler would make the traveler a unique and versatile unit, unique from the rest but quite weaker in damage. Would give it some utility.
@@Waterwolf221 it would make them much more versatile as they’d be able to fit into any team for reactions, I also think the current kits should be kept and maybe even needed as there would have to be some drawback for an elemental all-rounder
Great concept, maybe it's a story thing we have to complete until we get dendro in sumeru, hydro in fontaine, pyro in natlan and cryo in snezenaya. i have a feeling the final boss will allow us to switch elements use all at once
Sadly, I won't get my hopes up on that, traveler would be too useful in that regard then, although we know there's a good amount of characters that do the job better for each element
This is exactly how I imagine the battle with the final boss - other characters are unavailable and we will use the traveler by switching his elements
The traveler is the only character Mihoyo will never buff, because they want you to spend money for other characters

I wanted them to sell (their profit = motive to add) a second, third and fourth version of the traveler, in the shop.
You can equip the traveler in multiple character slots in your party, and you can also choose the element type and artifacts individually. It gives the ability to play as the traveler using four elements at a time, and it would make sense for them to have multiple health bars since they're supposed to be strong/the protagonist.
In star rail you can change the path of the traiblazer from the menu, it should be the same for traveller in genshin
The idea is extremely cool, it may sound op on paper, but artifact wise, you're only limited to universal artifacts so it's pretty balanced

I still don't think the traveller even with all the elements at your disposal at will would be worth investing into...unless they buffed the attack of each elemental attack

Well actually i use Aether from the day i started to play Genshin Impact, there isn't a good reason (basically it's beacuse i suck at team building and i didn't get Venti back in the day) and now he should be the strongest character that i have, except he doesn’t do the damage he should do.
Anyways it'll be very cool if we can have that "wheel of elements" or somethings that allow us to change elements quickly (it's a pain in the ass literally going on another country just to change the way you fight TwT it's like you need to go in Japan if you want to use karate or in Brazil if you want to use capoeira or again in China if you want to use Kung Fu)

I use him, i just started playing genshin 4 days ago , im ar 26... dont laugh. he is my highest level character, deals the most damage, and has the most health, now i just started. i dont have the money to just buy wishes to get 5 star characters, shit ive gotten 1 four star, but i can say hes not all bad

traveler has always been in my party since day 1 i never removed him except when his element is useless against some bosses like pyro hypostasis(i use anemo traveler a lot) but after the fight ends i add him back bcuz he is the main character after all and i would feel weird if any other character is my main.

Same! I almost never removed him. If his elemental power just seem useless when fight certain opponent, i just make him support or changed other party member, but traveler still in my party.

i use electro traveler cuz hes both cool and good comp(overloaded and sub dps)

i think traveller needs to be something different from the others and have his own sword who adapt with what element he uses but instead of that mihoyo makes him so simple that you can actually change him for any character in the game

@Starna _ The Favonius Sword is not very good for the traveller, at least not for geo or Anemo. But Yes electro. The best F2p weappn for him is one Called Festering Desire. The one can be Obtained in 1.2 after completin the Mission of Albedo.
If by unique you mean sword of descension, then yep, it's their own sword, and has a passive that only traveler can have.
Technically this is canon and it does work, but unfortunately not in gameplay

I swear that would’ve been useful for all the times I went to a domain.
This idea is too over powered because you could switch resonances at any time, or if a enemy had a certain element, you could switch to the elements weakness. Though, one of the replies to my comment was there would be a cooldown, if there was a cooldown, almost like a qiqi cooldown, yes, this would be a good feature :D
sounds like the just amount of power for a main character in my opinion. you can already have every element, why not make it a combat feature? for free to play players it would be great. it's not like it gives you 10k-20k damage instantly.
Maybe they could make it like you changing Team? You can always switch it exoect while swimming/climbing or fighting
I think there would probably be a cooldown on switching elements so that it's not overused.

Sadly the Traveler seems to be like a testing ground for what the archon's kit is going to be like (Venti's Q is a bigger Anemo Traveler E, and Venti's E is a better anemo traveler Q, this is true for all archons btw)
So he usually ends up being a lesser/watered down version of a better kit, it makes me sad but hes fun none the less

this is a very interesting thing to note. Honestly, even though the traveler can seem like a watered down version of the respective archon, I think that this fits well with the game's story because the traveler gains each new elemental power by interacting with the statues of Seven, so it makes thematic sense that the power obtained from the Archon's own power would resemble it (energy gen like Raiden, constructs and buffing like Zhongli, grouping and elemental absorption like Venti)
Yes, I too feel the same but then if the allowed element switching in combat it would make traveller a much better unit than what he is currently... by better I mean not as replacable as he is... because the ability to switch elements in combat is something they wouldn't be able to implement in other characters even if mihoyo wants to... :)
Actually makes sense since traveler takes the powers from the arcon statues meaning a little of their power?
I use him always , he is the main character of the story... also with the swirl reactions gives massive damage with his rasengan.
I am also hoping he can switch on the fly one day as he can switch at statues anyways it isn't that game breaking...

I think traveler is in my opinion one of the easiest to upgrade so in mine, Lumine is the strongest in the party, and especially useful in geo, so I often main her. Really wish we could just change the elements that way but of course it may never happen because of character sales.

This could be a cool event! Where you can only use traveller to fight, but each resonation of the traveller had it's own HP bar and charge of skills!

Okay but seriously, why dont more people play as the traveler? I have her in my team almost all the time and i think her anemo tornado (combined with literally any other element) is really great for killing off enemies quickly. Yet noone seems to play as them!

Because even exclusively f2p, you have a better support character for whatever element traveler is. Fischl is incredible. Sucrose is incredible. Geo is good for shields and there are better ways to get shields.

'cause there's venti and kazuha lol. traveler's tornado isn't too wide. And she's not that fun to play with her animation though her skill is pretty fun to use in my opinion

2 glad 2 shimenawa. ATK Sands, ATK goblet and ER weapon. Basically no issues. Would be suboptimal since no dmg% bonus, but you would only be using traveller as a support.
It would actually be pretty cool if we got a namecard for traveler like the ones we get for other characters once they reach friendship lvl 10
Edit: I know that the traveler doesn't have friendship lvl. I just used it for an example for the individual namecards after each character reaches max friendship lvl. Maybe mhy could add another system for the traveler.

I could see this being used for the final boss once all elements are unlocked and using the statues of the seven aren't need to resonate. But I think this will happen after paimon is gone or no longer by our side

such videos like these always make me question how genshin's future would turn out to be with all the elements the traveler can choose from, once we unlock everything. and this video is so dope really cool and a lot of effort put into it
I think his original element was Light. As seen in the intro.
@@LBCAndrew I have a strong feeling they won't name the elements light and dark. It'll be something more unique or lore appropriate. But yeah, I can definitely see them adding elements that work outside the current system. Basically like how every Gacha game has fire, water, rock in one system and then light and dark in a separate one that only has special effects against one another.

At first when I saw this video I was confused but then I watched it, I thought "Oh this isn't actually bad at all" and I hope Mihoyo adds this because I don't wanna teleport to Sumeru again and change my vision, it's just wasting my time, same to the other regions. And I also want this so that I don't have to change my party and finding more characters to fight a boss. AND I LOVE THE TRAVELER SM! SO I REALLY HOPE MIHOYO WILL ADD THIS. (Or I'm just lazy to do anything..)

Yeah it would be a cool feature if you can also preset the artifacts, talents, weapons when the traveler switches the elements
Or even better, their own unique artifact set that only they can equip and the effects are only activated by them. So what it would be like is; every single piece will have every possible main stat and sub stat at it’s maximum quantity and all of them upgrade all at once on a high roll so there’s no upsets, furthermore the artifact’s effects are all of the positive effects of every single artifact set but better.

raising a single character is already a nightmare, imagine raising the same one 7 times.

you're gonna have to raise all of the traveler's elements and you'll be able to do something like this.
Raising skill and burst makes sense.. raising normal attack doesn't.
at least the only thing you need to raise are the Talents. Saves you the tons of Mora and Hero wits you need. Not to mention farming all over the region for materials like Qingxin flowers 😂
Can't wait for traveler to have all the elements and finally have a burst that sends all elements in one move. Hopefully it'll have an animation too 👀
honestly same here - I'm lowkey hoping we end up getting like a "light" element that lets them use abilities similar to the ones they use against the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Whon knows maybe when our sibling becomes playable we'll be able to switch elements

The problems come with the artifact sets.
Also I believe most people think of such mechanic as rather simple to play, but I kid you not when I say this type of thing may be very very difficult to pull off, since enemies would still attack you while you switch your element.
especially when you consider that genshin is cross platform game and they balance everything to be playable on other platforms than PC. thats why every event is so easy.

@@Papaya.06 nowadays you could do gladiator shimenava 2-2 set. The only problem is goblets. You would be forced to build attack goblet.

I would imagine if you want to do that you would need like an item for each element like maybe a piece of the statue or just a mini version of The Statue to actually switch to that element.
There are two reasons why I use traveler.
1.- I like their fighting style and their bursts. Maybe it's not so cool like other 5* characters, but if you know how to use them it's very useful.
2.- I don't have characters.

I actually use aether, and i do have to agree this would be one amazing thing to be able to do in and out of combat, puzzles are pretty hard especially when you don't have a character aside from the traveler with a certain element (one of the only two anemo characters I have)

if they add this feature, I would love it because I usually take the traveler the backseat never get to play aether because he would take a backseat for the characters i play a lot. It will function a lot like the nanosuit from crysis different suit modes
It would be nice to change elements without a statue. I was in an area yesterday and needed earth to hold down a button and couldn’t be bothered.

Honestly this would be great. The fact you'd still have to get all the skills up for every element could balance out the OP-ness a bit, even if not entirely.

Yep so it’s a gadget that requires ether a piece of each statue in it like a Pokémon gym badge case. Once made we can add more as the regions unlock or it has the gnosis inside instead of part of the statues

This, and the ability for the traveler to wield any weapon type… now that would make this character really epic to play
Imagine quests where the MC learns how to use each one of them. Like: Amber teaches the MC how to use a bow.
Zhongli teaches how to use a spear.
Beidou teaches how to use a Grand sword.
And some random character teaches how to use a catalyst. Although I don’t think catalysts would suit the MC well.

Honestly even if this was outside of combat and you can change elements while exploring, it would make exploration so much better, I can't count how many times I've had to go back to a statue to change my elements to complete a puzzle🗿.
At least, I hope they can make each Traveler's element as their own character. So we could use up to four combination of them in a team.
I just want The traveler to have a element that makes them a really good DPS unit. I'd be upset if all of its elements are all support

The only element that will make traveler a DPS is cryo. Cryo is all about crit rate, just like hydro is all about HP, or electro energy recharge, etc. So we're still gonna have to wait a LONG time...

Being able to switch elements like this on the fly could be so good though, she would produce elemental reactions with herself. Imagine being able to freeze, overload, vape, melt, etc. with just ONE character

Honestly, I do use the traveler a lot, mainly for immersion and story reasons, but also cause I want to. Although I'm one of the rare ones that use Aether, cause I just like his style.

I think the traveler should be able to use all weapon types. They’ll eventually be able to use all the elements, so why not weapons too?

Because that would create way too many interactions to try and monitor for bugs and errors. That's the actual reason why they'll never allow that. Lorewise it wouldn't make sense either, traveler only know how to use a sword. There is a massive skill difference between using a tiny sword and a claymore or bow proficiently. It'd ruin immersion for the people who care about that. But the main thing is the broken interactions. Trying to test how every single weapon buff interacts with Traveler's skills in each form would be a massive headache. Especially when certain skills were simply not designed to work with other weapons. It isn't an interchangeable system. All the skills are locked to that body type and weapon style, to change that would take way more effort than you realize.
Edit: They talked about this when designing Childe. Making systems work independent of the weapon styles takes a lot of time and manpower. They had to create Childe's melee form from the ground up and said it was the most difficult thing to code in the entire game. Created ng a freeform traveler system would likely take 20x the time and manpower.

I think what the people are trying to say is the 1 the traveler is already overpowered enough using all the weapons you might as well just use them at that point also doing animations like that already cost a bunch of cash not to mention this is 3d meaning they have to use a certain app or program for all of this just takes a bunch out of the budget they already have and coding and such is a big value is well it’s a great idea of course but there unfortunately is a bunch of flaws
@@ilikechipotle5475 Like I stated before, how would it not bring them more money? Especially giving the traveler costumes and new weapons to pull for? They obviously want you to play the Traveler, but theres no real incentive unless you’re forced to.
Mark my words, dendro traveller will make them viable! Dendro reactions are gona be really good, it’s basically dots and heals. And there wont be much dendro charaters to use when sumeru comes out!

I have yet to get a single Anemo or Dendro character since downloading the game so the traveler is a must for me when exploring. Getting Lynette for free tmrw since I’m AR 35 and will probably do floor 4 of the abyss soon to get Collei. Then the Traveler goes bye bye 😌
