If you have access to a washer/dryer, that makes things a lot easier. I can't wear shirts more than once even tho I wear t-shirts. I get an old man smell. I found out that Karen uses a scent free detergent. I wondered why I smelled like my granddad did. I fixed that by using a scented one and wool dryer balls. Granddad can rest in peace. This 56 year old, soon to be 57, only smells when he is supposed to and not because of the clothes or sheets. I just get them for sensitive skin for Karen. Good luck and sweat it out.

This guy has figured it out- with experience and knowledge showing y’all how easy it really is. Life doesn’t have to be complicated. Thank you for the tips much appreciated my friend 👍 😃
I think that may be the most pleasant and entertaining packing video I have ever seen. Well done!! Having said that, I am a big fan of travelling light. I can say that in the past I have over packed and regretted it. I realized that I could pack two pairs of shorts and they'd last for days. One or two pair of pants. Just several shirts. Part of the key (at least for me), is having dark colored shorts and pants that will hide any type of dirt. Navy blue, green, maroon etc. The same with shirts and t-shirts. I do not pack t-shirts per se. I pack colored t-shirts that will go with my shirts and shorts, or pants. When we have gone to Europe, we stay at AirBnB and use the laundry. Man oh man, you don't want to be lugging big suit cases. There is no reason to do that. A 22 inch carry on is all you need. We went to New Orleans several weeks ago for 4 days and our carry on was almost half that size. We lacked nothing and had room to spare.
As someone who travels frequently, I've found the best way to get around the carry on pain is to travel with a bag barely small enough to qualify as a carry on, but gate check it. That way you're not searching for overhead space during boarding, but also don't have to deal with the bag check lines or the baggage claim inconvenience. It's really the best of both worlds.
Having just carry on luggage used to be the trademark of experienced travelers. Now everybody is doing it. As a result, the worst thing about traveling, after the security hassles, is boarding an airplane while 90% of the passengers are competing for overhead compartment space. Good luck trying to get to your seat because the aisles are jammed. Then of course the compartment above you is already full because earlier boarders from 3 rows away took your space. I can foresee the day, a few years from now, when travel videos like this will be extolling the virtues of checking your baggage to avoid the headaches of carry on luggage.
it's irritating for me that people don't knwo how to properly put their stuff above and they put both their bags up there instead of putting one under their seat...
A. L. Smith ...here is what do , when I get to my row an over head is full I ask who bag is this ...if no one claims it , I pull it out an put my bag up ....some guy 6 rows back or more will come an get his bag , they are watching because he knows he shouldn't have done that . I have had just one guy say something to me . I just say back to your row .
Glad I ran across this channel. I will be departing Camiguin Island Philippines, to Orlando Florida in March, 2023 for 2 weeks then off to London England for 7 days in April.. This video was a great stop to learn to pack my carry on for a few weeks international travel.
Fantastic Roger. I travel internationally a few times a year and always like to see how fellow business travellers pack to learn something new. Great video.
I love, love, love this!!!!! First off you had me when you said don't roll. i watched so many videos of people rolling and it makes me cring, lol. Excellent packing video
We have found it to be a MAJOR pain the butt to find or to do laundry every time that we have been in Europe. Just know that most hotels will offer to do your laundry but it is super expensive. Leaving shortly for Switzerland and Spain for 10 days and am going try our hardest to not have to worry about doing laundry. Also, if possible, take some old socks, underwear, shirts, etc. and pitch them along the way so you have room for any purchases. Who cares if you look a little rough on your 8 hour flight! Pitch those clothes on arrival
in australia a carry on ( which is usually meant for a plane inside) is only alloud to be 7kgs. I totally agree with you on the rolling of clothes. i think they get more creased and i hate that.. I also love the fact you're talking to us..not down to us..Well done..Safe travels Roger :)
Agreed. Rolling a dress shirt is guaranteed to have more wrinkled. He actually travels a bit heavy. For two weeks in warm regions I carry three tee shirts, three pairs of socks, three shorts, jeans, and a dress shirt. I then wash my socks and tee shirts in the sink and just hang them in the closet to dry.
I like to bring a laundry bag, too. I've brought a full size one before, & it doesn't take up much more space (since it's not that much more fabric & it's not going to be filled with more clothes than you brought). But you could use an old pillowcase as a laundry bag.
The only issue I've ran into while packing like this, is that TSA has pulled everything out of my bag to find the electronic shaver packed under all of my clothing. Some airports are a bit cautious about all electronic devices and like to scan them separately. Well done video though!
Hi Roger thanks for sharing your packing skills with us. I do a lot of travelling as well but not as much as you do. I have always wanted to travel with just a carry on but my major concern is ‘weight’. Whilst one can pack lots in a small airline approved carryon bag but it might not meet the specified allowed weight limits. Sometimes, the penalty can be costly. Typically the weight limit is 7kg and packing for a week would exceed that weight. For starters, some bags already weight half the limits. Please advise. Thanks again.
I found that no matter how I pack my bag, either by rolling clothes up or using this man's suggestions, It takes the same space up in a suitcase or carry on. A lot of times I will pack a day's outfit together (tops, bottoms, underwear.
Thank you! Finally I found a video about packing a carry on for a week that didn't include rolling clothes or packing cubes or compression bags. Thank you.
Amazing! The same way I fold my shirts and pants! And I always refused to roll them up, as you actually lose space between the cylinders and they become awfully creased.
Thanks, been thoroughly entertained - and I, too, travel 180 days a year...😊 Your system is very practical, and I was curious how you also fit a jacket in? Well, it turns out you leave that at home...VERY naughty, haha ! 😄

Traveling can be a hassle when every individual has got different needs.. such as medicine, camera gears, electronic gears such as portable laptop and hard disk etc. but I do agree that weight of the case is very important
I basically pack the same way. I have just watched a lot of videos and everyone is folding the clothes, so maybe I will just keep doing what I am doing. My only concern with your way is the toiletry bags on the bottom of the suitcase. I usually need some of the stuff in the bag to use before I go, so unless I pack right before I leave that would be tough.
Not sure about the US but in the UK we can’t take anything sharp in hand luggage and it’s either a case or a back pack., can’t take both (unless that’s just the cheap airlines I fly with) . Like many others have mentioned, it’s just as easy to check in your suitcase and take a small backpack for essentials you can’t live without on the plane (whatever that might be).
@@aus1046 I witnessed them weighing a guys luggage on a trip back from Thailand and my gosh did they make him pay for that extra weight/checked luggage! To be critical, how much does the luggage weigh after packing? I ask because those international flights will weigh carry-on luggage (On this airline the limit was 15lbs which is pretty light) and I had to check my carry-on due to the weight.

If I add just one bit of useful technology kit that suitcase I fear that I will hit the stowed luggage size/weight list on discount airlines that fly the Australasian air space. 7kg economy class and 10kg in business class.
They sure are expensive shoe bags! Use 'old' socks instead to cover shoes. They will then keep your clothes clean. Pack your other rolled socks inside shoes to save space.
Great tips if you sleep in the altogether, don't feel the need for a bathrobe, have no plans to get dressed up in jacket and tie, swim, or work out, can pay for all restaurant meals, do not need an umbrella, rain jacket, or gifts. Packing for a woman also requires slips, braziers, dresses and skirts (with matching jackets and sweaters) in addition to pants, shorts, capris, cosmetics, perfume, jewelry, matching shoes, scarves, hair curlers, power blow dryer, way more shampoo, conditioner and hairspray. But, I enjoyed the video!
Yes, but most airlines allow a carry-on bag, plus a "personal item". It has to fit under the seat, but you can fit a purse & several items in a bag that size (check your airline for dimensions). As he shows at 9:24, there's still room for PJs, etc. Bras are easy to fold in 1/2 & nest the cups, then you can stack more than one, and fill the remaining space with socks or stockings, or a slip or scarf. Most people don't pack food, other than maybe something to eat on the flight, so I'm not sure why you'd mention restaurant meals. But with that said, I'm on an elimination diet for my health & try to stick to foods I've tested. So the last time I traveled, I brought along a few snack items I know I can eat, plus a water bottle, since I like to keep track of how much I drink. I was able to fit everything in a carry-on size duffel bag & "personal item" size bag. (And I still had room to bring my laptop & tablet.) I did have some extra space, since I was going to a hot climate, but I did bring at least one thin hoodie & some warm PJ bottoms (since I didn't know how cool they kept the house at night.) You can carry a jacket or coat onto the plane, even if you don't want to wear it, so that can save space in your bags. Anyway, if you really can't fit it all, just check the bag. I guess with everyone trying to avoid it, the baggage claim pick up might not take so long these days. 👜🧳✈
I've always struggled with the rolled technique that a lot of my travel friends. like Samantha Brown, (Travel Channel) use. If you roll up a piece of paper, then squish it flat, you end up with a LOT of creases. If you fold your clothes like you see in clothing stores, you can stack more, and you end up with two or three creases versus seven or eight or more.
This is only good if you're travelling for week. I travel for two weeks and I don't repeat the shirts, socks and underwear that I wear. I don't like doing the laundry as well when I'm travelling. Now, where will you put the things that you are going to buy? Lovely tips for folding dress shirts though. Thanks
Excellent and very friendly video... except...I strongly recommend losing the wheels and using strictly a shoulder bag, and also carrying (and washing) your own pillowcase.
You di pack a lot of stuff and I agree that in principle it works. However, I can’t speak for your country, but here in the UK we are only allowed one carry on bag so all the ‘other’ items you mention would have to go inside here. A good video though to give some idea how to pack light. Thanks.
I think you guys don't have the total weight of 7kg (including laptop) limit for your carry on luggage, we have the 7kg limit in New Zealand, and it is definitely a no go for packing like this.
Agree 100% Most of the carriers I use have a 10 kg limit but I can get down to 7 kg or 8 kg for those carriers with the lower limit. It means having a super light bag My bag (an earlier version IT) weighs less than 2 kg.
Can't believe I just watched a guy pack a suitcase for over ten minutes and stayed entertained. This guy has a gift.

Thanks so much! super helpful for a recent trip. Well explained and different than the rolled technique so many are teaching.
My god. How do you stay under the 7kg carry-on limit with all that stuff?
thanks a lot on clearing my mind on whether to fold or roll clothes for my trip☺
This is only good if you're travelling for week. I travel for two weeks and I don't repeat the shirts, socks and underwear that I wear. I don't like doing the laundry as well when I'm travelling. Now, where will you put the things that you are going to buy? Lovely tips for folding dress shirts though. Thanks
Hey , great video ! try adding the LOC8ING air travel tag to your bag & relax
What is the model of that Tumi toiletry bag?
What’s your occupation that you travel that much ?
Great advice : but how do I get my bicycle to fit......?
Thank you Mr Brooks! I agree with NOT rolling your shirts or blouses
I prefer to roll everything and use compression packing cubes.
Perfect, and useful! what do you do for a living?
whats the name of the carry-on luggage Mr. Brooks,?
I always take 1 large luggage. If I go more than 1 week if just do a washing at the end of each week.
So satisfying watching packing with such precision. Not a fucking clue how I ended up here, but just sipping my beer thinking....cool man, fair play.
Thumbs up for the stuffed Sloth in the background :)
Excellent and very friendly video... except...I strongly recommend losing the wheels and using strictly a shoulder bag, and also carrying (and washing) your own pillowcase.
You can have nail clippers on a flight I thought you couldn't have any sharp objects?
You di pack a lot of stuff and I agree that in principle it works. However, I can’t speak for your country, but here in the UK we are only allowed one carry on bag so all the ‘other’ items you mention would have to go inside here. A good video though to give some idea how to pack light. Thanks.
Thanks for the vid. But I’m going to need two weeks worth of underwear if I’m going for a two week business trip (not one week’s worth).
