I hope Zeta can make it work, ID is also a very tightly knit group. They can do a full collab anytime they want and hangout anytime they want but that will no longer be the case for Zeta, hope she doesn't get lonely and can hangout with some JP friends
Zeta is friends with Bae. I dont think she'll get that lonely tbh. Timezone is still similar to ID, plus she can hang out with Bae.
She already have a schedule date with matsuri
@@Ryo3gpif matsuri is looking out for her, shell be fine. Matsuri is a sweet and kind soul.

Well thats the real problem isnt it.. the supas comes in IDR, but living cost comes in YEN.. still, wish nothing but the best for zeta
Doesn't UA-cam convert into one currency for paying out or?
@@AUM_-po9sc I'm pretty sure that was a comparison that implied that IDR supa money is tiny compared to YEN or USD supa money, whereas IDR rent and food is really cheap compared to YEN or USD food. So, not a question of currency exchange but one of economic reality between one country to the other.
@@Tiavals , oh, I actually didn't think about that
lets hope her JP audience grows even larger to make it even then
if i remember correctly i read a post from cover website that says, hololive income is mostly from merchandise and sponsors, while income from streaming is only few precent, and some holo member even mentioned that supas is only bonus since its revenue is split to youtube and the company then to talent which is maybe received only few percent of it
I appreciate the real talk here from Moona. I am a full time student but apparently my part time job here in the US answering emails for at most 2 hours per weekday earns me equal to median income in Jakarta. But its not like I can just take my part time job remote and move to a cheaper country, because my educational and other debts are in dollars and are very large even for a 'Murican. Zeta going in the other direction is even scarier and she is indeed very brave to do this.
To be fair, due to Moona's history with JP members and JP fans, she would definitely get way more projects in Japan, but it's still a risk, let's pray for Zeta's success.

Very down to Earth and wise...
IMHO, in current situation the best option for Indonesian streamers, youtuber, creator, etc is living in a low cost country (Indonesia) while targeting global audience especially from higher income countries. Because:
- ID's living cost is cheap
- ID's RPM is too damn low.
- You can introduce Indonesia to the worldwide audience. Remember that Indonesia is unknown country for the rest of the world.
- When someone from overseas buy the merch, it count as an export transaction.
That's why I really love HoloID clipper who target global/foreign market. You help us to introduce the nation or at least the 9 talented girls to the international market.🙏
I am wishing the best for Zeta, but she’s very cognizant of what she’s doing and recognizes the risks. ID may not suffer the same tax complications that the American members have, but I’m amazed by the determination of people who pay taxes to two different countries on earnings. I remember someone saying almost 80% of her wages went to taxes between the states and Japan. I really really hope Zeta enjoys her time in Japan and that it works out well for her. I also think it is a smart move for the ID girls to stay where they are and let the company cover flights and lodging when necessary. Bae’s move is also a completely different story and she saw it beneficial to take the plunge and obtain a JP shed, given how often she was having to go to Japan. Everyone has different circumstances and Cover seems to do a good job of supporting and accommodating the talents. The company certainly isn’t perfect but things seem pretty healthy.
That 80% tax thing was Calli from a couple of years ago. She confirmed in a more recent chat from around 7 months ago that she figured out the taxes since then and she's not paying that much anymore. But she did say that it's a time intensive process and she spends hours talking to her accountant, so it's still a lot of effort for other US talents to live there.
I don't think Aus makes you pay taxes if you're not living there for its citizens like the US does (the US has a tax treaty system with Japan, but that's probably what makes it complicated enough to make Calli spend so much time with her accountant), so that also made things a lot easier for Bae over the US based EN talents moving there.
@@akaaoi I thought it was Calli but couldn't remember for sure. Glad she's got a more preferential situation because giving up that much of your income is madness. Thanks for the reply. Hope you have a nice weekend!
The best thing about Zeta moving to JP is when the ID girls visit they have their own place to hang out together indoors~ SAY NO TO GRASS TOUCHING
"You are now beta tester Zeta ill await your review"
That is such a silly way to put it
Congrats zeta on becoming the first "Beater" of HoloID
Meanwhile Anya beta tesing on ID
When the news of Zeta moving to Japan was out, I was completely surprised
.
I was sure if any of ID members will move there, it'll be either Reine or Kobo
.
But then again, Zeta did speak Japanese the most aside from Reine so I shouldn't be surprised? (Yeah didn't mention Anya cuz.... Well.... Anya) 😂
There are other reasons not to move other than money imo: family, friends, culture, lifestyle & food. Reine & Kobo's family may not want them to move.
Because Anya is holoJP
Makes's sense ,like she said ,if they right now with the money they earn are considered middle class in Indonesia ,by moving to Japan which is a way more expensive country ,outside of more projects they would just put themselves in a very bad financial situation .
She's got a good point. I work in the US, but my company employs some people from the Phillipines and well you can guess there's a disparity in earned wages. It sucks but that's the economy.
That's sum wise word from her, great point
A lot of people seems to think that is easy for ID member to move to Japan but it's actually the opposite. ID branch is not as big as the other branch so it is hard to afford the living cost in Japan. Just because Zeta live in Japan doesn't make her receive the same salary as JP member too.
Zeta is really gambling by moving to Japan so I hope she can make it a succeed and give way for other ID member who want to move to Japan too.
Japan can be expensive for Vtubers. I loved Prism Project, but some of the talents in Japan worked a 2nd job with streaming.
Of course, location helps, but in post-AFC Japan, food is expensive, but housing costs are okay from what I understand.
It's definitely an adjustment to keep in mind for most EU/NA fans. Moona + ID look at JP part time jobs and think, oh man, minimum wage is so high!
Meanwhile I just remember thinking oh man, wages are so low here!
Obviously the wage in a country tends to correspond to the cost of living, so that means little in and of itself, but if you are living in a HCOL area with a LCOL wage then yeah, that's not sustainable.
Bagus banget ini moona bahasa penjelasannya clear dan simple begitu pula terjemahan nya
I mean, if Kobo can survive a month in Japan just by freeloading off other holomembers then Moona could definitely manage without a part time job lol
cause she don't have to pay the rent lmao
Isn’t Moona already freaking rich? She can go live there for awhile just for the experience if she want to.
@@N13J I feel like Moona is thinking long term here
@@N13J define "freaking rich" in ur dictionary. she alr said that what she earned from her holo activities is like middle class in ID. ofc, she's probably upper middle class or upper class if u talk about her family, but if she moved to JP, it means that she implies that she need better income to do so, that's why she's talking about part time job. also, i bet she's went to japan for vacation many times before, that's why she can say that "living abroad" pretty much different from having a vacation. i mean, going to japan is pretty cheap, u could spend at minimum 25 million (IDR) for several days. but living there for certain times, is a completely different matters.
also, reine is basically richer than any other ID holomem, yet she stayed in ID
@@noamocchi Okay so the rich girl is Reine, I just misremembered.
I’m actually really surprised. I don’t watch HoloID much but they’re pretty popular on YT and have a lot of projects and stuff, so I always thought they’d be rich for their country’s standards and at least be earning enough to live comfortably in Japan if they wanted to.
Indonesian cpm rates is very very low
rich is matter of standard perspective my friend, for many the id girls is considered rich, some of the id member manage to feed and became the backbone of her intire family and some can afford to buy a car,own house, own a studio and many things, but yeah different place different exchange rate
Minimum wage job in Japan could make you rich in Indonesia 😅
Zeta tester 😂
Zeta doing this sounds very audacious as IIRC she didnt have particular ambitions that would require it
Oh wow I didnt know they were paid in their own countries minimum wage, I thought they would be paid the base amount in Yen; that would be a lot more reasonable
jualan burgaru aja moon dijepang
They would get paid in IDR even if they lived in Japan?! That's insane no way
I think that's how it normally works. I can't say for certain, it's been a very loooong time since I worked for a corpo. You get what paid what you signed up even if you move countries.
@@gentlepatootie2580 that sucks :(
Well... HoloID is a separate branch....or more like a subsidiary to Hololive.
You get paid in IDR if you join HoloID.
even they get paid in IDR the amount is actually more than the average, the clip itself stated that moona is belong to middle class which imply that they lived good in their country, while upclass means a range from whealty to whealtiest
Yes, that's how jobs with different branches around the world works. No matter where you live your rate is base on the economy of the branch you are under.
Like people working under Microsoft japan branch have a different salary than people who work under Microsoft US branch, even if they work from home on in another country
I am still surprised that Zeta is the one who moved and not Anya. Maybe because Anya isn't HoloID. 😂
Dude you can also translate Indonesian??? WOW!
HE IS indonesian
Zeta tester lol
Ok, Zeta testing
Moona can't live without eat _Seblack_
Im pretty sure cover corp would assist with the talents aka put them on some sort of payroll.
Zeta can speak japanese fluently so shell be fine😊
imagine yeah you went to nana-eleven or Fauna mart or watson to buy something and you recognize the voice of the cashier.
me: a..are you hololive member?
cashier : i'm part time worker!?
I think if you move to JP, you're probably fairly confident of your JP skills. I don't watch the Indo branch, but I think Zeta, Reine, Ollie, Anya in HoloGTA showed pretty good fluency.
When's Holo Indo's next gen coming out? It's been a while.
Gen 1 is great too
Indo's earning is too low. I don't think we will see another gen for a long time. Some fans worry that the ID branch will be merge with the EN just like Niji
@@sakamotothecat17 hmm, just praying that's not gonna be happen
HEY MOONA
I thought Anya Melfissa lived in JP, No?
Why?
hahaha she might be "holoJP", but she live in ID.
People repeat the HoloJP jokes too often some took it as a truth
(Anya comes to ID off collabs occasionally, in case you really need some clues)
@zeroyuki92 Yeah, she just seems so fluid. It just seemed like more than just someone who learned how to speak it through anime and manga
I thisnk suspicious... Only anya home never raid or off collab
But when i ask ollie anya home in jp . Sound suspicious
100 buks in ID you can survive 2 week
gib me food
Move to Singapore lah…part time also cannot survive
Oi munya
I'm surprised that Cover hasn't singled out Risu for a direct invitation yet. They have a nuclear bomb among their ID talents and yet they have been so slow at investing in her. Are they afraid of being seen as biased?
Maybe, because other talents also had to stand on their own in making music and stuff to gain sub (with the help of staff in some ways i think, like contact with artists...) and become big. Hololive say no with favorite, (well even matsuri, a talents, was opposed to a manager who want to 'spoil' her bc she thinks it's not fair). Hololive is big now, but if they forget what rules help them maintaining it (like the fairness in a professional setting), it will destroy them from the inside i think. Btw, that's just business thing that i don't know much about, so it's just my thought on that matter tho
Too late for that considering how some have more pushes than not even in EN/JP
But considering the extra overhead she has (family) compared to most, some adjustment would be fair IMO
@@Fishman465 I think Risu at least has some support from Cover and is seen as the poster child of ID, foremost by other ID girls, then Cover. In ID big collabs, you can clearly feel that they listen to her.
I just wonder why it takes too long for Cover to secure a producer for her. Calli and Suisei both got theirs with Cover's help.
wkwk beta tester
If Moona were to learn Japanese, her content reach would be greater, also she doesn't stream as much as before either. If she were to do those 2 things, probably her situation would get better. When she streamed with Pekora she had a greater exposure but she doesn't seem to stream as often even with the other ID's nor the ENs.
The moment she started to collab with Pekora her subscriber count went through the roof. She went from the least popular to the most popular just by hanging with Pekora. At first she was known for her situation with Risu when Risu took her savings piggy I believe and that was it for a while until she started handing with Aqua first then Pekora.
Whereas Zeta, does collab more with the EN's and she can speak JP so that helps her a lot, she had a great chemistry with Matsuri in HoloGTA so that would help her a lot for more exposure.
I think this is the issue Reine has, she rarely collabs with anybody and plays very few selective games. She has a niche of fans but she is not as popular as other ID members anymore. I feel like Moona and Reine became too complacent ?
reine, she already rich so it doesnt matter if the audience didnt grow. Reine just living the moment
Damn this numbers talk is really something. The viewers are putting the hololive standard at another level. If we apply this to an indie at the same level as Reine or Moona for example in terms of CCV, i bet the vibe of the discussion is different and a bit more understanding.
I mean, Reine doesn't have to move to Japan, she can just easily fly there, does a 3D Birthday live like she did 2 weeks ago, then fly back.
Cover only provides the studio space for free, the girls have to pay the travel & hotel cost themselves if they want to go to Japan to film at the studio. Most of them clearly can't afford that except Reine. The only times when we see them go to Japan are likely business trips that are covered by Cover.
@@SleepyGaming-ie9fb For what I've seen online, Reine comes from a rich Family I think.
I also like to add that none of ID is small timer in term of views/ad revenue, if they don't have to split with Cover, each of them can easily earn thousands of dollars per month easily, putting them around 80k USD income a year. For example, a RTS channel that I usually watch only have half of their subs and around 20-50k average views per vid/streams, yet he manages to do it full time.
However, due to split, limited choices of sponsorships and the fact that Hololive talents tend to take long break to recoup, I can see why they may earn less compared to other channels around their size.
