Okay ... here's the answer, for anyone still debating. Performing this song is the now defunct Las Vegas-based band CHARGE. The guitarist, heard here, is gifted blues-man MARK COLE ("Take it, Mark" at 1:50). This is essentially a cover of the Stevie Ray Vaughan version of the Jimi Hendrix original. See Mark and his brother Steve (drums) perform this live in Louisiana's Westbank with Charge here on UA-cam at: ua-cam.com/video/H0jLkbIlEWw/v-deo.html
That's not Geoff Tate it's Jerry Huber. I played drums in 2 different bands with him although he does sound like tate and he's even been on stage with tate at the house of Blues in nola.
@@ProjectDanH Hi Dan, Jerry went home to be with Jesus. He is missed dearly by many. I'm grateful that I was able to worship our Lord with Jerry I know I will see him again on the other side.
@@jaynickisher9489 oh man.. that's sad. I feel so stupid. I always thought this was SRV.. I wish I could have given Jerry the credit when he was alive. I'm glad he knew Jesus... That means I'll still get to meet him.
Anyone know the effects he uses on the solo part to get that "glassy" sound, very bright, but smooth at the same time with some type of chorus/reverb???? Awesome sound
I am not familiar with who played this abstolutely brilliant cover of little wing .. and the original compositor of vaughandrix too .. heard of a certain Mark Cole ?!
@HelixLaguna didnt mean to offend a brother PLANT fan/ i wasnt even paying close enuf attention to the voice once i knew the main voice wasnt him HOWEVER if theirs 2 voices then im going to play it again. im on lunch ,so ill do it now hang on . . . .
i might of clicked like twice ...so if there's one dislike its mine by mistake :P ....had this song ages ago and thought it was a great cover yes Mark Cole an Charge ...i remember you's ....vaughndrix is another good instrumental by them :D ...
@prographaeL dont know, but i would guess that this is a collage, i mean, the first solos are exatly the same as Stevie Ray Vaughan's version, and the base and the drums does sound very "eletronic". Plus you can only hear the crowd at the end. Hopefully im wrong, but the guita rists probably made this together, except for SRV.
@z1inspector I guess if there are two voices, that "Through Clouds" at 0:41 it's damn similar to Plant's voice, not sure about the rest, but that is what let me think this is Plant.
@HelixLaguna No prob dude :) i'm guessing also if there are two voice, in fact i heard it a couple of times and for the most of the song i have to say i'm wrong, it's not Plant. But in a few moments i feel like it's him! I'm just curious as you to know who the fuck is singing! This is one of the best versions of little wing i've ever heard in my life :)
I know this is Stevie ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, but the vocalist ( and I'm assuming first guitarist) i'm unable to identify. That guitar in the third part... definately Hendrix. Can't mistake it.
@z1inspector Oh man, i got almost everything from Plant so don't do the teacher with me ;) Btw, listen to that "Through Clouds" at 0:40, i find it REALLY close to Plant voice! I think there are two vcalists, i don't know that... But that's my opinion and maybe i'm wrong. It's possible that this is none of them on the title. At guitar it's not Page, vai has not this blues style, i think it's SRV, and about the voice you know what i think. Anyway let me know also if you discpver something on it :)
@Rhoddric i never mentioned any of the names playing or anything i never saud e played with anyone. i read your comment saying this was god awful bullshit and it pissed me off. i dont know where your'e getting all the bullsit you said up there. cause i never said any of that. you really should read before posting it saves you from looking like a fool
This is the famous TAKE IT MARK version of Little Wing done by a guitarist called MARK COLE and a band called Charge . Give a credit whete it belongs . Steve vai and jimmy page have nothing to do with this !!!!
That's actually Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar, as his recording was only solo they did a clever adding of the vocals. Stevies playing is unmistakable, even the noise of his guitar when he stops playing is there.
HAHA No........thats what some lame ass labeled that as a MP3 download....Its not any of them mentioned above in this song....and the original was done by the late and great Jimi Hendrix
WELL thats not Robert Plant ! this is a fact i can bet on ! I know Roberts Voice ! THIS is absolutly NOT him ! END OF SUBJECT now you guys can fight over whos playing gutair ! / som1 let me know when the truth comes out !
The voice is absolutely Plant, at the guitar it's impossible that is Hendrix, the quality of the audio is also too good to be a bootleg of those years, and i've been collecting bootlegs for years. I'm almost sure it's SRV at the guitar. The sound is from a Stratocaster, and it's not Vai's style, but not Hendrix, hendrix live was not so precise. It could be also SRV for the lick at 4:46, typical sound of south (also Dimebag from Pantera played that stuff) That's my opinion :)
My favourite version ever. Absolutely beautiful.
I love how this version has a special place of appreciation in a little corner of Hendrix community.
Mark Cole...your guitar makes me happy.
Yes, had it once. Lost it when computer crashed, finally found it again!! Awesome.
definitely the best version
This one's my favorite version of little wing
Excellent, Jerry I remember riding dirt bikes with you a long time ago. Great job on Little Wing!!!!

This version of the song is hands down the all time best, blows hendrix and SRV out of the water

Pretty sure I got this version off of Limewire or something way back in the day...
Wow! You too ??... You remember LimeWire downloader software !!
I also got it from it !
I got it from Kazaa. I've been trying to find out who it was actually playing for over 15 years.
BEARSHARE was where I found it
Napster!
That's not Geoff Tate it's Jerry Huber. I played drums in 2 different bands with him although he does sound like tate and he's even been on stage with tate at the house of Blues in nola.
Does Jerry still perform this.. I'd love to see a show!

@Byk37 Rem the whole title ! This is MARK COLE on guitar and band CHARGE .
To all those below, this is actually Geoff Tate from Queensryche on vocals, with Mark Cole of "Charge" on guitar
It's Jerry Huber on vocals...
Is there a tab for this version somewhere? Best version ever
@22yout I search and found this:
Mark cole (from "Charge"),
we can listen at 1:50 "take it Mark".
I never listen him but this look like the same.
lindas frases esses caras são fodas, linda musica do jimi hendrix.
Anyone know the effects he uses on the solo part to get that "glassy" sound, very bright, but smooth at the same time with some type of chorus/reverb???? Awesome sound
i finally found it youpi
@HelixLaguna I thought it sounded a little like Plant's voice too!

I'm lokking for the real names of this live version!! Where did you get it?
Where can I Buy this version, I used to have it years ago but lost it!!
i have it on my itunes, i can send you thru email if you want to
You also could download it from here, plenty of tools for that
Steve Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Eric Johnson, Allan Holdsworth, Joe Satriani. I have the original, this is it
-leaves this awesome page to go check out Buckethead- (another great guitarist) :D
I know this is Stevie ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, but the vocalist ( and I'm assuming first guitarist) i'm unable to identify. That guitar in the third part... definately Hendrix. Can't mistake it.
almost sounds like some sort of axl rose vocal variation
Possibly Gary Cherone of Extreme?.......just taking a guess
Umm, no, although I could sort of seeing him singing this though. But it is actually Jerry Huber.
3:50 intro... That's Hendrix.
@z1inspector Oh man, i got almost everything from Plant so don't do the teacher with me ;) Btw, listen to that "Through Clouds" at 0:40, i find it REALLY close to Plant voice! yea @ that part i thought the same thing at 1st/ but its not him/ HOWEVER the voice is sO familiar =i will figure out who it is !
John Mayer?
@HelixLaguna this is NOT Plant = I AM SURE 100%

Wrong. Mark Cole did this live with his band. This is not Stevie's version.
Shazam keeps telling me it's SRV, but it's clearly not.
I think this is Steven Vai singing. If you listen to his solo version of Little Wing, he sings and very well -- and this sounds very similar.
It is not Steve Vai singing. He is in no way related to this song on this recording....
HAHA No........thats what some lame ass labeled that as a MP3 download....Its not any of them mentioned above in this song....and the original was done by the late and great Jimi Hendrix
bro..john mayer still dont have this kinda skill..
