It doesn't feel so much like the culprit is worried but that Edgeworth is on an unstoppable roll and nothing the culprit says can stop the wheel of their fate.
The same way lying coldly works for a 26 year old still somewhat energetic Edgeworth, this theme works so well for a calm and composed 36 years old chief prosecutor miles edgeworth.
Oh my goodness! This is so catchy! I love this so much! It fits Edgeworth’s character, as it gives off a more confident feel. Kind of like if this stars him during his Chief Prosecutor days.
As always great. I take a Lying Coldly feeling out of this, like how Edgeworth is keeping his domain over the conversation and cornering someone with seemingly ease.
I agree wholeheartedly. The tone of this song has a righteous superiority to it. It almost perfectly reflects the difference in stance of Nick and Miles. Phoenix is a Defense Attorney, so his "Gotcha!" moments are a riposte. He's played defensive the whole time, and this is the moment he gets to finally attack. Miles, on the other hand, is a Prosecutor. By nature, he is aggressive, but not mindlessly so. He knows how D.A.s work, how poor logic festers, so he constructs traps while keeping up a sound through line of basic logic. So his "Gotcha!" is less about catching someone in a lie unexpectedly, it's about them doing EXACTLY what he expected them to, and falling directly into his hands. I love this a lot.
It's very good. I don't know how to say it. It feels as a pursuit, and there is something in that music that makes it someone a little... more relaxing? Not that it's a bad thing, I think you wanted to give more value to the guitar which is 10/10. Anyways it's really good, compliments as always, it's the missing skill I always wanted to have a little.
Glad you like it! I was aiming to represent Edgeworth's collectedness and experience with the guitar, just because the instrument itself sounds "cool"; Edgeworth's in control, and one step ahead :P
While I love this theme, I’m not really getting the sense that I’m “cornering” the culprit, and that I’m really pointing out that final piece of evidence that will be the nail in the coffin. I must say I love that guitar you chose though.
I adore the rhythmic drums and other supplementary intstruments making the bed for the piano to just roll on forward, and the guitar makes it all the more better! A different but an intriquing take on an Investigations pursuit theme :)
Really good. I feel like you could have accented the actual melody more, as it sometimes gets overshadowed by the accompaniment, but overall, really well done.
Thank you for the feedback! I paid careful attention to that problem, and to be honest I can only find one serious offender between 0:53 and 0:59, oops! Otherwise it might be the device you're playing it on, it worked fine on my PC Headphones, Speakers, and Mobile Headphones. Mobile speakers, not so much :( Not gonna lie, I am terrible at equalizing for most platforms
*Yawn* "I should check youtube to see if there are any good upl-" *Sees your channel name and the word "Pursuit" nearby* *Instantly clicks on the video*
The only problem i have with this is that it sounds like something in a courtroom, when it should be happening at a crime scene. either way, great job!
I'm quite late, but better late than never. I think this track is cool for a very specific reason... it feels less like you're really chasing an opponent. It sorta harkens back to Lying Coldly in terms of style, and it feels like you've _already_ caught the opponent in a trap, and are now unloading all you got onto him.
It's the banjo that throws everything off kilter. Like this was the pursuit theme that was destined for Lang-Shi Long instead. I do like the reprisals but I'd have replaced the Banjo-like accompaniment with another instrument(Like strings or violins-to keep to AAI' style) or removed it in places.
It's not a banjo, it's a regular stratospheric guitar! :P I can see what you mean, but then again, I really was going for something different and, not gonna lie, feeling more bad-ass like Shi-Long Lang isn't too far off the mark xP Thanks for the feedback!
Broocevelt Personally, I get where you are going with the guitar but I'd have tried focusing on Gregory Edgeworth's theme cos' this is the game where he finally follows his papa's sense of eyewear, non?
It needs some more instrumentation of the "You are fucked" feel. AAI1 had some of that missing, this one felt like the suspect's lies didn't work for the nth time with Edgeworth like, "put some efforts in your alibis, will you please...?".
I wanted to keep the same structure as the previous games: present continuous + something - Lying Coldly - Wanting to find the truth - Seeking Answers Just like the final boss theme, which is "The --- who --- the ---"
((continuing from my post on the presto video)) Tealing: So you are saying I killed her, stuffed her in the costume, and pulled her away? H-hah! There's one thing you're missing! Motive! Why would I kill her? That screechy excuse of a prosecutor at least has some semblance of a motive! Payne: H-hey! I don't screech!
*OBJECTION!* Miles, Who Simply looks shocked, didn’t object. Miles assistant, Kay Faraday never objected either. The camera flashes to someone pointing their finger forward. ???: What if, you never had a motive? But instead... you preformed this murder on the behalf of someone else?!
???: “Call Me, The Legal Eagle!” Miles: “Kay, His name’s Ethan Eagle. Ethan: “Yup. Defence Attorney. Less on that topic- Crap he did a runner.” Kay: “What?! Really!?” Ethan: “Nah. Miles. Let’s finish this.”
Minecrafter 2207 Tealing: That note could've been adressed to anyone! You've been going on and on, and not shown a single shred of decisive evidence! Just admit it already. Winston Payne killed Mathilda Keist, unless you could prove I did it!
"The bullet you seek... Is in that man's head" "Wow Mr Prosecutor, all that just to say that he's insane? AHAHAHAHA-" "Did you think I was being facetious Ms Hawthorne?" "Phoenix Wright! Take off that mask!" "W-What did you just say?!" "Hello there, remember me?" "T-that man is...!" "Detective Gumshoe! I demand an analysis of that bullet! If the ballistic markings line up with Ms Armando's gun, that means that she didn't kill anyone!" "But what about the other dead body?! How are you gonna explain that?!?" "Easy. Iris was watching the show the whole time, and Chan-el has said that she doesn't remember what she did." "See?!? There's no way you catch me!" "That's if we assume that you're Iris, but you're not are you?" "UGHHHHHH!" "You made Ms Chan-el channel you, and you killed that man who recently left prison. Isn't that right, Dahlia Hawthorne!" "NOT AGAIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!"
I like it, but it's a little too...subdued? Not exactly a followup to Wanting To Find The Truth. I also think the intro could be trimmed so that it doesn't take so long for the beat to kick in.
in my opinion this would fit better as an objection theme, it doesnt have the thrill or power or excitement of a pursuit theme, its still a great piece nonetheless
*OBJECTION!* _Edgeworth_ You all claim that he stole that money...yet you have not presented any evidence to back up your argument. If you have no proof, then he should be found innocent!
I think this and the other pursuit tracks you’ve made are a bit too slow paced to fit in with the other pursuit tracks in the series. They feel a bit too much like the allegro confrontation tracks IMO. They’re still good tracks though.
Gotta be honest, this is a little too slow for me. Pursuits are supposed to be about hitting the finish line, a mad dash to destroy that one last thing that's protecting the culprit, or finally figuring out how they managed to do it. This sounds like an objection theme, slower paced, closing in, but they aren't trapped yet. It's not truly a pursuit, because you can't say why they're lying, only that they are.
