The highschool featured in the thumbnail is actually in the school district that I went to. The student did it as a senior prank and ended up not being allowed to walk across the stage for his graduation. It is still funny that I am seeing it in memes to this day. I hope it was worth it to the student to have such a legendary impact on on the Internet.

The "temporary" buildings, 2 of them, at my high school were put in to handle a "temporary" expansion of our student count; a neighboring district was doing renovations or something.
People, those units were added in the summer of 1995, when I was 15... They are still in use to this day.
We had those at my Elementary School put in, probably, around 2003 or earlier. The school got a new wing, so they took them away for a year, put them back up again. The school got another wing added on a few years ago, and they still had to put up more temporary buildings. And with all the new apartment/condo complexes going up in the area, there will not be enough room in schools in the coming years
I had to physically stop myself from flipping a table when I saw that homework was invented as a punishment.
I didn't put my binders up to hide my answers, I did it to hide the fact I was sleeping because I never got much sleep.
There are two types of maths and science teachers:
1: The best teacher possible for the subject and actually gets kids interested in the subject. Their lessons are fun lessons.
2: *THE DEVIL*
The third type started as one of the other 2 but was worn down to an anxious nub of a human being, had a mild breakdown (or not so mild), refused to quit however lost all emotional connection with their job. Largest group by far nowadays in some secondary schools.

As an Asian student i confirm here the punishment is much more brutal than an homework, the least we got is standing outside on corridor and the worst is cleaning the whole school
Can also confirm a whole section cleaned the whole school for having their room dirty
once i had to stand in another classroom as punishment as only class reps were monitoring and they snitched on us to the teacher at the class next door (i was crying the whole time cuz a dude i knew was in that class)

But if you are in the hallway how are you supposed to know what the teacher was saying during the lesson? Doesn’t that compromise your grade?

If I remember correctly, almost nothing happened to the girls, and the only thing that happened was the criminal charges being revoked, but I heard that online, so you can never trust that stuff!

One of my english teachers, named Ms Shalini, got pregnant and had to take a maternity leave. The subsitute teacher came and taught English class for a whole year before i graduated from middle school. The substitute teacher also got pregnant and left to go find the one piece.

A few years ago in science class we were doing an experiment with water and salt. While the teacher was showing it to us, one of my classmates asked “If I drink this will it give me superpowers?” I will cherish this memory forever

19:47 I disagree, my PE teachers were super chill, you could talk to them about basically anything. They were like the school counsellors if the school counsellors actually did their jobs.
My PE teachers are demons. One of them just clearly hates her job and will scream as loud as she can at any kid if they slightly break the rules. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen her not scowling. The other one always gives special treatment to the popular girls and let’s them do whatever they want. He also stares at them and talks to them all the time. One of them is a witch and the other is a pedophile.

Fun fact, if you consistently disrupt class, and make jokes and get sent out a lot. You will eventually be allowed to sleep in class uninterrupted, and be on your phone, because the teachers more concerned with making sure you're not creating a problem, than making sure you're paying attention. Now often bullies can create some very very big problems for the administrative system. So the teachers aren't at all worried when they bully kids. However when a normal student fights back, that's a massive step up from his usual behaviour, and as such he's punished accordingly.

I has one. The class I had made her hate bring a teacher. I was in the third grade. She was directly from Mexico, and struggles to speak English correctly, including saying, "y" instead of and. All the other students loudly made fun of this poor woman for that. They were so loud, during the class, a transformer by the class exploded. We could not here it, and barely heard the announcement say that it happened. She was the only teacher who liked her job. Less than a year of getting her job, she immediately wanted to quit. I am grateful that at least somebody had a Spanish class with respectful kids, with a teacher who doesn't want feel suicidal, because of the class you were in.
