I think people forget defenders arent supposed to deal a ton of damage. They're supposed to tank the damage. Oftentimes i wonder why certain defenders have no source of lifesteal, cuz literally, i would trade damage for some health regen and some defense. All lapras needs is some more hp regen on water pulse, and some extra defense, and it would be balanced. Dps defenders and supporters need to go honestly. Trade the damage for extra defense, and we wouldn't have things like Trevenant being more powerful than an attacker.
This is how every defender should be honestly crazy high defense more damage than a support but not as much as the all rounders
If they all did less damage than machamp the defender class would actually be balanced for once
I would agree but lapras has 0 on demand cc like wood hammer or heavy slam. So the tradeoff should be high damage or insane sustain but it doesnt really have either
To be fair lapras specifically got damage nerfed like 15 times lmao. Which is fine ofc but then *looks at trevenant* . Ik the meta was diff tho.
@@lordradiance2530 high sustain would be a good trade off, with a cooldown nerf on water pulse of 1 second, would be balanced. Hard to give insane sustain to something that fires off once every 4 seconds or less.
Lapras is designed as atank that needs to be always up on the enemy face resulting in absorbing all the damage but lapras sustain have hit a bit too hard to consistently do its job.
Without any healers you just can't remain on frontlines long enough.
It would be good if it's sustain is improved and to compromise for it tak a bit of its damage away so we don't need to play it as a "tanky all-rounder" but as a defender.
Lapras feels like an unevolved character now 😢

Lapras needs a utility buff. Like ice beam giving it a bigger speed boost or more bubbles from the bubblebeam?
I feel like its more ideal than just buffing its dmg

I think they should buff the basic attack healing back and to perish song
But i believe water pulse doesn't need buffs
Maybe the sustain buff but it shouldn't do damage as it did during m2 meta where it doesn't go down and you just die cuz it do too much damage (or am i remembering wrong)

Just yeaterday I was playing a match and we wiped out the enemy team and were in the lead at Ray so we only needed to defend, but my team started ripping. Anyway, enemy Blissey got back in time and stole it with egg bomb and two enemies spawned in time to get a shield. 2/3 scored and we lost.

Lapras is really only viable with Sp Attack Specs. Other than that, it definitely deserves a buff to Perish Song at the least. The damage reduction in the last patch was just too much.

Lapras is my I’m not trying cuz I’m sick of playing defenders for bad attackers Pokémon, easy to do a lot of damage and get ko’s plus the unite is solid
It does need more health or something. Doesn’t feel like a defender
cris never showing up at mid bees as a laner TYPICAL
Defend your own bees jungler, I got issues in lane I gotta deal with. Like annoying mimes and wigglys.
He talks a lot about it's not optimal to leave both of your goals undefended to split what is relatively low exp compared to the possibility of giving your enemies free reign to score/stack.

Yeah, you need to have teammates behind you to help you out. But if your teammates are not there, like the other guy said, there's nothing you can do if they do not pay attention to the map to help you out. They can suck, but hey. You did what you can do
