Thank you!
I see you guys on my screen way too often now
I like the portion taken from Mahler's symphony no. 1, it would be really cool if you transcribed that entire movement for cello quartet.
Excellent!
It is the Andante con moto from Schubert's 2d Piano Trio in E-Flat Major. We tweaked it a lot in our version, though!
No wonder it sounded familiar...I played the Firebird Suite in orchestra a few years ago
At 4:30 is the Dance of King Katschei, from the Firebird Suite by Stravinsky.
0:21 is the main theme of the 4th movement of Dvorak's Symphony no 9 (also called the New World Symphony).
I like
What is the name of the song (or however you call it in this beautiful world of music) that starts at 0:21
what is the theme at 2:30 from?
It's the opening bass solo in Mahler's Symphony No. 1 Movement 3 (the "Hunter's Funeral").
The first cellist is holding his bow in the german style bass bow-hold and playing high on the C-string to imitate the sound/look of the bass solo! The pizzicato is meant to be the timpani.
The melody of the theme is Frère Jacques but set in D minor.
Hope this helps you/others, even if it's now 10 years late!
what is the name of the piece at 4:30?
