I'm a RemNote subscriber, I noticed I spent more time on studying using the features such as flashcards, linking etc. than the actual studying my subject. RemNote I think must make it more user friendly, it's such a waste of time when I'm supposed to study but ending up studying how remnotes works and setting it up.
Same here. It has been a week and I have only learnt to take simple notes. Then I learnt that to make flashcards I will have to type notes in a different way. Wasted 1 week on note taking. Moreover the tutorial videos are many a times confusing for absolute beginners. Adding reference is the most difficult for me
A second-year studying premed here! And so far I totally love the app. I think it's such a great combination between Notion and Anki. I admit it took me one full session setting up but once I got the hang of it, the learning curve was not so steep anymore. Thanks to the creators! Would love to support the app and channel anywhere anytime
I've just started using Remnote in my 2nd year at uni and it is a life saver! I struggled so much trying to take digital notes last year, that I gave up and annotated printed PDF's and that didn't work well for me either. I feel like I am actually getting somewhere now that I'm using Remnote. I'm not lost in a sea of unnecessary lecture notes, but instead clearly outlining what I need to know and using the flashcards to make it stick. Thank you!
Two important types of cards are still missing 1-Multiple choice with radio buttons 2-Selection the true answers from a list of checkboxes Yes, I know we may reach the same result with cloze-deletion or basic flashcard, but clicking on the right choice is better UX. Well how about the self assessment buttons in case of multiple choices? First we may display these with the answer (but should be optional) In radio button case partially recalled button makes no sense In check box case if we recall partially our answer will miss some of the true answers so makes no sense User may still wish to choose between recalled with effort/recalled immediately then display these buttons if the answer is correct (but make this optional) In fact a multiple choice question should only accept immediate recall, because it is kind of passive recall and should not tolerate recall by effort. Another missing piece is cloze deletion list entry-tool. Yes we can enter a list and cloze-delete one by one. But just entering a list and declaring the card as cloze-deleting list will ease the data entry. List can be also declared as ordered/unordered. For example, TCP/IP layers : 1. Network access layer 2. Internet layer 3. Transport layer 4. Application layer Currently I shoul manually cloze-delete these items one by one. But it can be automated just declaring this cart as cloze-deleted list. You can also design the multiple choice questions as a list entry and declare the card multiple choice card with correct answer. Then it should be displayed with radio buttons and user can pick the answer with the mouse. In short: Improve your data entry tools for better UX.
Remnote is great! However, what stops me from leaving Notion and using this one is that Remnote does not allow for columns or tables for note taking, it is always from up to down (I get that we can make hierarchies, but for me, it's VERY important to have columns). I would love the opportunity to make more customizable notes, because, yes, I LOVE the flashcards, with their active recall and spaced repetition technique, but I am also a visual person, and to have mutiple colors, fonts, sizes, organizers, columns and stuff like that is something I NEED to have, which is exactly what stops me from using Remnote :(
@Ranjeet Kumar No. I use toggles in Notion as if they were the flashcards BUT I have my pages organized in a database who has a spaced repetition formula based on the % of correct toggles I had, so it calculates the date in which I should study again that topic in order to improve (I adjusted the template from Red Gregory's video: "Notion build with me: A spaced repetition database" and honestly it has worked perfectly, I love it. Unless Remnote gives the opportunity to customize notes with tables and columns, I will not leave Notion)
@@mariajoselaverde6534 The problem with the "Notion build with me: A spaced repetition database" is that you have to create a separate database with just the items you want to practice with spaced repetition. I find that as I go through the flashcards, my understanding changes, and hence my notes change. If I had multiple databases to manage, I would have to update my notes in all of these. That is very time inefficient and subject to error. I might as well just export to Anki (from Notion or Remnote) and not mess around with the complicated setup of keeping everything in Notion. For youtube videos on Norton to Anki, see the youtube videos "Notion to Anki - How I use these apps as a medical student" or "My Ultimate Notion to Anki Flashcard Hack: Memorize anything super quick".
If you want tables, charts, etc, create a table, draw a chart, or create whatever image you want, and add that image to the answer rem. See, for example "10 steps to making exceptional flash cards".
This did not show the making of an actual CARD. If I want to make a flashcard for language learning, e.g. Dear Hund = "the dog" this video is not helpful, despite being billed as "Basic Flashcards". If I am wrong, please correct me. Thank you.
Hi Matty! will you guys be doing a tutorial on the spaced repetition algorithm? or maybe showing what your scheduler looks like? thanks for the videos!
App is great and love customisation available with the free version(to view media feautures you have to connect online through). Thing is the app is confusing if you don't know much about how to use it to include the keys making them front to back side(w/ lists, etc), understand the purpose of a document/folder into making a specified deck and multiple decks. Peraphs include prompts or visible user guide when the app launches. The "Learn more" link does include written and YT tutorials.
I can't find a way of inserting those angled brackets in my computer even tho they actually have a pair of keyboards (on the left side on top of Alt and also PrtSc), my laptop is a Lenovo X260 and can't find anything on it... can someone help? I already tried with Shift and the symbols in the keyboard
The shift + tab and then tab back again to end the back side of the multi line and list card no longe works. Could you suggest an alternate method for it please.

Thank you so much for this !! it took me a min to figure it out, but so happy i did! Awesome tool! , Very grateful for remnote!
real helpful, thanks for making this video! didn't realize the ' :: ' had been replaced.
Its still there, but I think it is more of a legacy thing rather than something for new users.

What if I want to do a list? Such as "months of the year" and then for it to show all the months in english so I can be tested on the other language?
Outdated video, the option "Test One-by-one" dissapeared :(

How can I turn the flashcard into the normal rem?

After a few minutes i've just figured it out, /p to remove heading works aswell to remove the line from the multi-line cards/lists.
Do you type notes and make flashcards? Or do you just make your notes into flashcards. did you give us your study methods for med school?
