There are plenty of airsoft GBBR (gas blow-back rifles, 6mm plastic balls) AKs with full auto and blowback. What's more, the mags are far more convenient to fill with BBs and gas (green gas/propane). I don't know if these files for 4.5mm steel balls have any advantages to airsoft guns, but surely seem far less convenient and more dangerous.
Extremely cool item. Having purchased one of these a number ago when they first appeared I can confirm that it is just like a real AK on the outside. Unfortunately the performance was very poor so either mine had issues or they’ve improved them since. This is not a replica of an AK 47, but rather a type 56 which is a chinese made copy and even more prolific than the original AK. Like the russian Yunker airguns it seems to use many parts of the original type 56/AK, the only thing it is missing is a copy of Mao's little red book.
Had one of these for a few years now and as you said in the review very realistic in both weight and feel, the butt stock on mine has been removed and modified for the metal folding stock and i replaced the upper receiver cover for one with a picatinny rail for a 4x scope, definitely a keeper.
Just a bit of history. During the Rhodesian war in the 1970s, a particular Rhodesian soldier was wounded twice, once very badly by AK fire. Many years later he met mikhael kalasnikov in person and told him of his experiences. I had a real one with the folding stock that went straight Around the grip and magazine. It made it look like it had no stock at all. People don’t realize how small the real thing is with no stock. That’s what made them amazing for a gm that shoots a 7.62x39 round. I miss that gun so much. I even have a tattoo of it. In the USA this gun is severely illegal, but the reason may surprise you..... The receiver is a genuine AK item and contains the holes that the full auto sear mounts to... that makes it illegal in the USA, ain't that weird...

Interesting fact.... The receiver on these airguns, are actually illegal in the USA! They actually have the holes in the action that allow the full-auto trigger set to fit... 🤯🤯
How would it be illegal if it's a BB gun? The only way you could get this to fire real rounds is if you completely gutted it and put in the internals of an actual AK, and even then the construction of the gun might not be good enough, as it doesn't need to withstand much pressure at all. I don't see how outfitting it with a full-auto trigger would make it illegal
This is so authentic. I got a canvas cover and sling from ukraine and brought an original metal magazine and attacket it with a dremmel to fit the gas inside
Empty genuine AK compatible mags actually fit into these. I would suspect that the manufacturer has more or less replicated the tooling or like yunkers used some actual parts. Obviously not the important bits thankfully! AK top covers fit too, I bought one secondhand with a pic rail. Clips right on like it's made for it
The receiver, top cover return spring and all the woodwork is actually real chinese type 56 parts, apparently they caused a bit of bother when imported into the US & Canada because of the 3 hole full auto receivers. Not sure if that's the case with later ones 🤔
