- A communication system in your side by side can make the whole experience more enjoyable for you and your passenegers. Over the past 3 months, we have been working to find an option that's not going to cost $1,000+ but still provide a great experience with the ability to listen to music, and potentially communicate car to car. In this video, Dave gives you an overview of 1 option and introduces 2 others that he will cover in future videos.

Thanx for the heads up! Have been wanting to buy a intercom system for my Yxz but the cost for other systems is just unreal. Saw this last night ordered it this morning. Full system for less than $300 is a SMOKIN' deal :) Really loved the screen shots of the parts.

Thanks so much! Any suggestions for us helmet wearers? Do they make universal in ear headphones with microphones that can easily be swapped out for different codrivers while all wearing helmets?
Been looking for a communication system that works with helmets.... we unfortunately had peeps get hurt not wearing helmets so there is no “” no wearing “”” helmet option ....def be waiting for more info

Could you use a Bluetooth adapter used in some pick up trucks to interface your cell phone with? My wife came up with this suggestion, and I think it was pretty good actually!
what's the decibel reduction on the ear muffs?
I've got the same setup. 4 person system
with the module and expansion module. Same headsets. Take black electrical tape and cover the front side of the mic. Do four pieces thick. Take a white maker and make a dot on the side for the mouth side. Also mark which passengers headset they should be wearing. fr, fl, rr, rl. It will block wind noise from the front. It works perfect. 485$ for a 4 person setup.
Can you explain why you need to tape the front side of the mic?

Great vid thanks! I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a comm system for my RZR - this gives me great ideas. My only question - the headsets you're using, can they be adjusted so the head support (not sure what the correct term is) goes behind your head instead of over your head?
With headsets you either buy over the head or behind the head. You can’t interchange them.

Hey man check out the Flightcom FC 403 or FC 403 M they are panel mount stereo intercoms. they cost $179. the 403 are 2 people with PTT the 403mc are 4 people with PTT.
Can you use the flightcom system with this headset from Rugged Radio, "Rugged Radios H41-CF Carbon Fiber Behind The Head Two Way Radio Headset with Volume Control Knob and 3.5mm Input Jack for Music / MP3 Players"?
I don't think so. You'll need to use an avaition style headset
Thanks so much for your research and sharing it Dave! We would love to have a Rugged Radio intercom and radio set up, but it is SOOOO spendy. For about 2 years we have been using a Sena Bluetooth helmet system. It is far better than yelling at each other, but above 25mph is still hard for me to hear with our open face helmets and the boom microphone out in the wind. I have been lusting over the Rugged behind the head headsets with half helmets. I’m anxious to see the next parts of this comms video series! 👍😎
Is there a way to install push to talk for this system? Can’t figure out how to without being actually used in an aircraft.
Yeah I'm not sure how to accomplish that. I've moved away from that system so I never figured it out
I was thinking about getting the Sena devices. A buddy of mine uses them and likes it. I just havent pulled the trigger on anything yet.
Sena are nice but spendy. The cheaper one I showed for a second will connect with sena from what I understand. Never tried it myself

Is there anyway to connect the Rugged Air RA200 to the FODSPORTS?
Not that I'm aware of. Doesn't mean it's not possible. I just wouldn't have any clue on how to accomplish it
It plugs into an aviation nav/com radio.
What was your new headset that has a radio for car to car. Tried Fod Sports yesterday and they are horrible.

Is there any helmet kits that would work with the flightcom?
I don't know. Next got that far into it before switching up the system to something else
I also ordered a Bluetooth adapter, and the only way I can hear it in the headsets is to unplug the mic jack, and plug in the jack that's wired directly to the box.
Also the volume, and sound quality are terrible, even with the volume turned all the way up on, the phone, the Bluetooth adapter, and the phone.
Hopefully someone can help me out 🤷
Yeah I don't have any help for that. Not sure if anybody has tried it yet. Possibly could be your Bluetooth adapter? For playing music I just plugged my phone inti the audio input jack and it was great

I believe They would plug into the instrument panel in an airplane. They are not used for anything in a utv application

The cables go to a radio and you could add an inline push to talk so now you have coms with another sxs.

I have a Maverick Sport XMR , my son drives a Polaris RZR 170. We communicate with these www.amazon.ca/s?k=lexin+b4fm&crid=2WOS97J8DRDYT&sprefix=lexin%2Caps%2C195&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_5. The Lexin B4FM are clipped to our full faced MX helmets with speakers and mics installed. Whether he's riding with me or he's in his machine they work awesome. They were a total game changer, especially when he's in his machine. I can give him guidance with out getting out of mine. He can let me know what's happening. No wires, long battery life! LOVE THEM!
