Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is a masterpiece. I played through it this year per your recommendation and I am also so happy when it's recommended again because I really hope more people pick it up. Currently playing through Ys Orgins and Ys IX: Monstrum Nox on the switch and I really hope the release more Ys titles on the switch.

I picked up a nice complete copy of Grind Stormer sometime during COVID which cost me $220 CAD. It was an exciting purchase. And I learned firsthand that this is a really tough game! I also had to get some help to score a Sega Genesis Mini 2. Not very friendly of Sega with this release.

I wasn't able to get the ps4 version when it came out, and didn't think I'd be able to get this one either, but when I got asked what I wanted for Christmas I saw that NISA still had some! So immediate purchase and is now sitting on my Falcom shelf with my other Ys and Trails things.

I’ve always had this nasty habit with disc based games where I’ll go to switch a game and take a disc out, and put it on top of another disc in a case. It’s possible that it’s overtop or under another game…especially if you had someone over and you or they were excited to put the next game in.
I've picked up a bunch of new Switch games recently that I've really been enjoying. Akai Katana, River City Girls 2, Windjammers 2, and Bullet Soul are all awesome.

After my dad's former girlfriend stole and sold allllllll of my retro stuff that I had from growing up (SNES, NES, genesis, Gameboy, PS1, PS2, PS3) I'm very very guarded about who I allow near my collection now, even nearly 20 years later.

My recent pickup that I was so excited about were CvS and MvC2 on the Dreamcast.
My missing games are Chrono Trigger and Kings Field 1 & 2. It’s crazy how things just disappear from the collection over the years.

2022 was a good year to beat some of my backlogged games; managed to beat 34 games in a year.

Happy birthday Johnny! Perhaps you could share us some tips on how to keep up with gaming and still having time to do our errands as adults. I'll be 39 in a couple of months and for the last 5 years or so and I can't find any spare time at all for gaming besides a couple of hours on Sunday. And I don't even have kids so I can't even imagine how is it for those who have a full house.
