This is the most respectful JJ episode I ever seen! You can tell all of these people are/have amazing parents. I also love how they talk about how friendly the entire neighborhood is, we need more neighborhoods like this!
As for the little girl, I don’t blame the parents for not having an eye on her the entire time. Neighborhoods like this it’s common for a child her age to cross over to her friends home. I also don’t necessary blame the driver as she popped out in front of him. I think it was a very unfortunate accident, and instead of passing blame I think the lesson should be to spend some more time with the children of the neighborhood teaching the correct way to cross over the road.

Sooo true. I'm an older mom with a young 3 year old. Everytime I'm at the park, I'm the only observant adult. Constantly having to tell the older ones to be careful around younger children. Even yesterday this 8-9 year old boy threw a handful of wood chips at my face. When I looked at him he was about to do it again. I yelled at him and of course no "parent" was around! Smart, calm, clear folks so far. Without watching the second part, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. The little girl ran out in front of him. My own son did the same thing, though not hit, but close. He was a little younger. We were walking with some adult friends, all leaving a place at the same time. We split up to go to our own cars, and my son started following Tom. Tom caught my eye and said he had him. In that brief moment my son darted between cars and out into the street. My friend Tom jumped out and saved him. Even under the most watchful eyes those little scamps can do an impulsive thing. Glad that darling little girl is okay. My friend Tom was almost crazed with guilt, as I'm sure this driver was too. Though
neither of them are to blame.
