Nice, setup I got in my 09 Taco Kicker 11Dx500.1 Mono am wired at 2 ohms full 500 watts. Powering (2) 10" Kicker subwoofers 4 ohms 150 rms to a seal box. All concealed behind the seat.
what you may want to consider is if your subwoofer is a 4ohm single voice coil you need to have an amp that can push your subwoofers rms at 4ohm. dont just get a 500 watt amp when your subs are 250 rms each, that will lead to underpower which causes clipping and youll eventually hurt your speakers
If both subs are single 4 ohms, and if he wires positive to positive and negative to negative from one sub to the other, that's a 2 ohm load.. That kicker amp is rated 500 rms at 2 ohms, and it's a bit underrated so he has some headroom.. It's a good sub & amp combo and it should work perfectly fine, don't confuse dude..
Btw, underpowering a subwoofer doesn't cause clipping.. If I took two 400 rms subs wired up to a 2 ohm impedance stable 400 watt amp, for example.. Lets say they was 2 fosgate p2d212's on a Rockford p400.. The only way that I could clip the amp & subs is if I sent a distorted signal to them (unclean signal). You could do that by maxing out the gain on the amp, using excessive bass boost from your headunit and so forth.. If I set my gain to match my pre outs on my head unit then I'm going to have zero problems with distortion or clipping.. And the only way to set your gains right would be using an o scope or something like a smd dd1, on both your headunit to know where it's signal begins to clip on whatever volume and back it down until you have a round curve on your o scope, of course with the right test tones.. And the same for your bass.. Lets say you could take your bass to volume 32 without it clipping (clips on volume 33) but lets say your mids & highs clip on volume 31 (so you would use 30) then you would go back and set your gains on your amp for volume 30 to match your head unit pre outs and boom.. No clipping as long as you stay at 30 or below..

If you have ported these hit way harder than sealed which is what I have in this video. After I went ported with same amp these were nearly destroying my car and it shook way more. I think it's either the wiring is wrong, different amps have different outputs and different wiring. In order to maximize and get the most out of your amp you need to understand all the specs of the amp to match the subs power. Let me know the make and model of your amp
