Dad's first car that he bought new was the story . Long before I was around . He always kept a black and white picture of him standing next to it in his bedroom . I have that picture now to remember him by . I've always wondered about that car . Thank you so much for showing me up close !
Hi Sparky the Detroit Doggo, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dad's 1st car he bought new :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
What a great looking Fairlane; even the license plate matches! You're right, this is definitely a 1950's looking car inside and out. And what an interesting detail that this model was also a police car in its day. Thanks for finding and sharing Mr Schultz and his Fairlane with us, Lou!
What a great reminder of what it must have been like in the 1950's. There is innocent times that we all wish would come back. Great color combintation. Love the detail of your videos. I saw things on this car I would not notice anywhere else. Beautiful dash. Love the metal color same as the outside of the car! Loved the exhaust coming through the bumper. Never saw that before! Thanks, Lou.
I was a year old when this car was produced, but had I been old enough I'd have had a hard time deciding between Ford, Chevy and Plymouth in 1956. Finally, Ford and MOPAR went to 12 volt, all three were good cars and good looking cars. I can remember a road test from the time with all three and they didn't see a clear winner. I really like this gentleman's Victoria; usually we see all the attention going to the Crown Vic instead. This is a beautiful, beautiful car! Thanks for sharing with us.
I had a friend with a 57 Victoria. It was pink over black w/black and pink interior, it was a nice car but, PINK!!! Thanks for the great work you do Lou, keep'em coming 💚😎🤞
Lou way way back like 69 or 70 went to Newport News to visit a aunt who drove this car in color ND detail except hers was a ragtop white top she kept it till late 70s and sold it cause it leaked oil on her driveway that whole family is now gone this was great thanks Lou !!!
Love these '55 & '56 Ford Victoria. Especially the Crown Victoria. Never liked the Continental kit on any car. BUT it is a great looking car! Thanks for posting Lou! Have a blessed day!
Color combo is very pretty, overall this Fairlane is in exceptional condition and I'm sure a pleasure to drive. Thanks Lou, nice feature! Edit: those glass packs sound great!
That vehicle has a really unique aspect of my life. My Aunt Joan owned the exact same car and in that car experience the first memory I can recall of my life. We were in that car heading home on my street and the News came over the radio that JFK had been assassinated. I remember my aunt pulling over and her and my mother just sat there and shocked silence
Hi Terry M, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Aunt Joan's car :-) That is a life changing moment. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
What a treasure! I love that he's included the personal history of this beauty. How cool that he sees himself as the "curator" and not the owner and that he truly honors it's past and cares about the couple he bought it from. Just excellent. Thanks for another great video, Lou!
Hi Lou, what a great looking ford, they were a great car, i had the model before that one, the one with the round parking lights at the front grill. That guys car is a beautiful looking car and the colour really suits it as well great video Lou.

Being from Canada, my Dad had a Canadian version of sorts.. Meteor.. Rideau I think.., 292 . Gold and White. I have pics. Good looking cars the Fords, Mercs and Meteors were..

Fords from the 50s have been underrated since, idk, the 80s at least. They are gems. Especially now that they are more of a rarity than GM cars it seems even though they sold very well. In some cases outsold Chevy

In 1962, a diminutive 30-year-old brunette was tasked with transporting four children from St. Paul, Minnesota, to Austin, Minnesota, a distance of 100 miles in a 1949 Mercury Monterey. The car was okay except for having a radiator that was full of holes! She solved that problem by stopping every few miles to fill it with water. The children were ages 1, 3, 5, and 7. Taking that long trip and moving into their new home must have been difficult, and the seven-year-old had a key role! Her husband followed them in their slightly used 1958 Oldsmobile 88 a few days later. Both cars broke down, and they had to get a loaner from the nearby mechanic while they were getting fixed. That car was a blue and white 1956 Ford Victoria! (I was a five-year-old.)
In 1955 and 1956 Ford really made great cars, with the low and round roofline of the Crown Vic ('55 and'56), which was trickled down to the '56 Fairlane 2 dr hardtop, really giving those cars a great styling advantage over the contemporary GM and ChryCo products. GM at least for my taste got somewhat lost in the bulkiness btw 1954 and 1958, and ChryCo was upping their game but they would only really shine btw 1957 and 1961

A beautiful car! Knowing the history of the car, it is guaranteed this car is correct as it came new from the dealer's showroom. The only possible modification from the assembly line would be the dealer installed continental kit. As I understand from your videos with Dennis Roxworthy, that is how Ford did the kits. They manufactured them and sold them as a dealer installed accessory. I am not a fan of the kits, but like Jason Schultz, I would take on the responsibility of the curator of this fine museum piece and retain the kit. The fuzzy dice on the otherhand may have to go after Mr Dahl, the original owner and his wife pass on. This is truly a wonderful example of the Fords of the fifties and when Mr Schultz get to an age and health where he can now longer care for it, the next owner should be an automobile museum or a collector that will take on the responsibility of keeping it in the condition it is in and sharing it in car shows. Thanks for featuring this one on your My Car Story channel.
The white is “colonial white”. My first car was ‘56 Victoria in Bermuda blue and colonial white with the 312. Got it in 1960 with 120,000 miles. Switched out the automatic with a 3-speed w/OD and a Hurst floor shifter. And overhauled the engine. Those were the days when a backyard mechanic ( I was still in High School) could actually maintain a car. My Subaru would beat the “hot rodded” 1956 from 0 to 60… and the Subaru handles and brakes 10 times better. The 1956 Ford definitely had a better backseat and when you are in high school that may be the most important feature.

Beautiful vehicle. Dad had a '57 Ford Fairlane 500, same color combination as this one. Gorgeous and took us from Illinois to Disneyland in 1960 without A/C-in midsummer. These were great cars, except for no A/C. Nice to remember them. Thank you for that!
My Uncle had a Turquoise and White one. Had the 312 V8 in it he bought it as his first car in 1966 for $500, he always told me that it was the first car that he done 120 mph in. He had it for about 4 years I think. He got T boned in it by a big Cab Over truck at an intersection he walked away with nothing serious but did have to spend a few days in the hospital. I will definitely have to show him this video when I see him.
