- Dive into the eerie narrative lurking behind the jovial facade of Freddy Fazbear, as I unravel the horrifying history of the Five Nights at Freddy's iconic mascot. The story of this 80s robot pizza mascot is a lot darker and more convoluted than you thought.

WHERE FANTASY AND FUN COME TO LIFE. Freddy Fazbear is the whimsical yet eerie bear mascot leading the show at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a whimsical facade to a nightmarish reality as the sun sets down. Alongside his animatronic bandmates - Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox, Freddy performs cheerful melodies by day, but as night descends, the horrific truth behind the pizzeria unfolds.
In today’s delve into the dark, we will unravel the sinister story veiled behind the mirthful mask of Freddy Fazbear. Tracing his origins from the enigmatic lore of Five Nights at Freddy’s, to the harrowing nights faced by the night-shift guards amidst the lurking dread in the shadowed corners of the pizzeria. We will traverse through the haunted halls of Fazbear Entertainment's dark past, exploring the chilling mysteries, unsettling occurrences, and the grotesque fate of those who found themselves entangled in the web of horror spun within the walls of the seemingly jovial pizzeria. Venturing through the ghastly tales of missing children, haunted animatronics, and eerie phone recordings, we'll expose the horrifying reality masked by the cheerful jingle of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza - where joyous children’s laughter by day gives way to spine-chilling screams in the abyss of the night.

One thing I liked about the movie is that they emphasized on the fact that these are the souls of children. I think this is a little overlooked in the games and that it's easy for the player to forget, especially since they are trying to kill you.
Exactly! People get so locked onto the bad things that they do. They forget these are children. That's why I loved the fort scene.
That's why, as goofy as the fort scene is, it reminds you that these are CHILDREN and they just want to play and have a friend.
True. The puppets think and act like children because they are children.
Sorry to be "that guy" but *souls
Very true, this is why it is so out there for the movie, the kids don't just kill, they still are kids and the animitronics. The move just emphasized this over what the game shows which is good, it's giving us more of the story
Afton during a *MURDER* investigation: Don't investigate the smelly animatronics.
The police: Okie dokie.
Is the movie scary? No. Is the movie a love letter to fans while keeping things fresh? Absolutely.
It was very beautiful. As a parent I took my 8 year old to watch it only to realize she and this other boy were the only children there hahaha it was perfect though
yes it was lmao
No. Lol. It was terrible and if that was a love letter then I want a divorce
You clearly didn’t watch the same movie

I don't remember a Gabriel in the game
This was a fun look into the FNAF timeline! If you ever decide to make more videos on the games we could definitely use one for William Afton himself. You mentioned in the video for Art the Clown that he seems to be the 21st Century's equivalent of Michael Myers, well people could say the same thing about Afton being Freddy's equivalent (with a bit of Chucky, considering that Afton's iconic line "I always come back!" is ripped straight from the killer doll).
the timeline is incorect
@@bluethefox259 I'm not here to debate whether any interpretation of the FNAF timeline is correct or not, either way it's interesting to see different takes on it. That wasn't even the main point about my comment anyways, it was about wanting to see a Horror History video on Afton.
@@QueenOfTheDead2023 My bad.
I never even realised that line was a reference to childs play-honestly i would love to see him disscuiss William
@@Man-wolf-Yeah, Chucky used that line back in Bride of Chucky, and has said it a few times in his TV series.
Let’s also remember that Stranger Danger is another theme in these games. Kids were lured in the back and murdered and one child was locked out of the restaurant and killed outside. Sure, it’s the same people responsible but it’s valuable information that you must be with your parents and they must maintain supervision.
Brother has no idea what he's getting himself into
I would love if you expanded Horror History into horror video games too! Like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space, etc
I think this is his way of opening that door since FNAF is a horror game
@@doll9340and those are also horror games 🤦🏽♂️
@@sq33p87I'm saying that I think he will expand into horror games. He chose to start with FNAF due to the movie
@@doll9340 oh ofc

Small correction: William didn't kill kids cause he wanted too, he did it to research the energy young souls give off

8:16 no no and no? If you are implying that freddy and his friends were revamped into the toy animatronics well they simply weren't because they are the withered ones. Also neither the toys nor withered have spring lock designs. Those were discontinued back at Freddy family diner because they were deemed unsafe.
10:25 Jeremy wasn't locked in, Micheal was. You play as Jeremy for nights 1-6 and play as Micheal on the custom night. Jeremy got bit the day after night 5 for the bite of 87. No offence because some of these don't matter much but this was one of many mistakes.
15:23 assuming the good ending of fnaf 3 is the true ending which i don't think is the case since golden Freddy is still possessed in ucn and if they moved on it wouldn't be possessed.
16:53 so we're just gonna skip fnaf 4 to UCN and go straight to help wanted and security breach?
18:05 the....tangle?
@mesaplayer9636 about the good ending thing, it is sometimes made that Golden Freddy can have two possessers and that the spirit is just the second spirit moving on while cassidy didn't
Ehh, it's both. He had an ultimate purpose, but he still took pleasure in killing them. After all there was no research involved with Charlotte's murder,.
Did he? I thought he just killed the kids and then happened to discover the energy from young souls
He melts the original animtronics to make the endos, if Afton knew about the Remant he would of did it differently.
Why don't more criminals think of this brilliant strategy? Just tell the police they can't search the crime scene for evidence and you're guaranteed to get away with it!
In the FNAF movie, Abby is Mike's little sister, not his daughter. Just so you know 😏 Also MatPat has a cameo appearance! 🎉 #justatheory
No shit
@catrenaburnett7703 But in the games he destroyed the animatronics and their spirits chased him into the backroom, that's not what happened. The animatronics are still there and functioning.
Didn't even notice MattPat in the movie when I went to see it. Yikes 😬
@Joshua_kun98 You didn't realize it when he said "But that's just a theory"?
@@Perry24680he literally said his catchphrase
You took matpats 10 year struggle and ultimate 4 hour video and condensed it to 20 minutes and that's wild to me XD
Well, The MatPat can take a 5-minute video and turn it into an hour plus. It's kinda his thing.
@@allanbaker3958 lmao what? His regular videos hit around like 20-30 minutes lmao only time he goes longer is lore introduction videos and heavy math or science videos and that's purely for the viewers to have a concrete base of knowledge before he pulls out the actual theory

I love CZsWorld, but I’m pretty sure he missed that the second guard, Jeremy Fitzgerald, is presumed to be the famed “bite of ‘87”
It helps if you ignore half the games and get half the lore wrong 😒
Just finished the movie and I really loved it! My husband who has zero interest in fnaf, ended up watching with me. He walked in about 30 seconds in to ask something and stayed the whole movie lol😂
I have watched four times 😂
@@viciousreasoning504wow! I’ve only watched it twice but planning a third time this weekend with my daughter 😂
I love fnaf, especially the movie, where markiplier says his famous line ''Was that the bite of '87?!'' Peak fiction, in my opinion.
Hey 😊
frfr
My favorite part was when matpat looked directly into the camera and said "this truly is Five Nights at Freddy's" Oscar worthy
@@mimdafrogbit4558 no Matpat came out at the end as a detective and said I believe William Afton is behind all this BUT THATS JUST A THEORY A FILM THEORY and it cut to the end credits with markiplier’s dead body from the bite of ‘87
I watched the movie twice and I don't remember them including any of this..?
Only real things to note is Glitchtrap has been confirmed to not be Afton himself, but a robotic AI called the Mimic, who as its name suggests, mimics different people, including Afton here. That and Abby is Mike's sister, not daughter lol. Other than that the timeline here is dead on man. This was a great video!
Glitchtrap is afton
Glitch is Afton. He's a fragment of the soul
It’s confirmed he’s Afton.
@@Anime-Kun2415 Wasn't it confirmed it's literally called Mimic1 though? Everything points to it being Mimic. The circuit boards mentioned make more sense coming from the Mimic plus the Mimic and Burntrap having the same poses
I think the idea is that it's Afton reincarnated
Just noticed the nod to Scream by Matthew Lillard as Yellow Bunny (or whatever his name is) when he pulls the knife out
Hot take: Despite being the face of the franchise, Freddy Fazbear (the original one in the lore) is probably the most underrated and under-utilised character in his own franchise, to me at least. I really wish he had a more active presence in the lore.
My mom used to take me to Showbiz Pizza when I was a little kid. It’s one of the great memories from those days when my mom was my super hero.
Fitting you’d upload this on the day of the Movie’s release!!!!
Fun Fact(s): It took them years of delays and years of development to get it to where it is today and Markiplier was supposed to appear in the movie but he was working on his own pet project The Iron Lung at the time.
MatPat (From Game, Film, Food, and Style Theory) actually makes a cameo in the literal first scene of the movie as confirmed by Mat himself.

@@ProphetLot Yeah I chose it after the WoF character because she reminds me of myself.

Makes me think of the animatronic band at Showbiz Pizza when I was a kid. Man, they were creepy.
No one would've expected this just a day after the movie released.
2014: it’s just a silly game!
2023: HORROR HISTORY EPISODE
2023: a whole ass movie
@@ProphetLotwell the movie has been talked about for years so 😒
Something that I’m surprised doesn’t get caught more often- I don’t think the crying child died because of a spring lock issue. His years didn’t trigger it, neither did anything else. The suit was in animatronic mode which means the spring traps would already be locked in and wouldn’t be wound back to allow a human in. It doesn’t change any of the story at all but technically he would have just been crushed by the animatronic just going through it’s normal programmed movements
I believe its said the animatronic just injured his frontal lobe-not so much kill him
Correct me if im wrong tho
@@Man-wolf- your right, but the kid died shortly after. I mean, how can a person endure that much trauma to the head and still live normally?
It's implied there are two different bites. The one from FNAF 4 and the bite of 87. FNAF 4 and its events are heavily implied to take place in 83

That's literally the only reason there should make FNAF movies, just for that.
Good job, Zac. There's actually a mistake in the video. In the movie, Abby is Mike's sister, not his daughter.
Just got done watching the movie and loved it wasn’t perfect but very enjoyable a first chapter laying the base foundation to the world. You can tell they are going for a multiple installment franchise with this
Really? I thought it was stupid

How did you like the change up on Vanessa?
I have watched it 8 times and it brings me joy but I have to stop watching it due to my somehow hardcore Christian parents.
I love the direction the movie took vs. The games. It managed to refresh a thoroughly combed through serise and keep it interesting and simple for a new audience. I look forward to the FNAFGU vs. FNAFMU arguements.
The “springlock” idea was a horrible idea 😂😂😂

I don't think the mascot timelines are a joke anymore
I'd like to see you cover the man behind the slaughter himself William Afton.
I watched the movie yesterday and it was actually such a great time!! Ahh so much fan service and I loved it🎉
It was lovely
The video I didn't know I needed. Thanks mate❤
Sweet a FNaF horror timeline. I didn't expect this to happen
I always asked my mom about showbiz pizza since she would always go as a kid back in the 80s and 90s. She would tell me that she liked the robots and that it was better than Chuck E Cheese.
Here is something funny about the two restaurants they were owned by the same guy.
A year ago I acquired a refurbished “Earl The Smurel”- a puppet the animatronic Ralph the Wolf wore on his right hand (google Showbiz, Ralph the Wolf, and you’ll find it. The puppet possesses a personality of his own-usually insulting Ralph, he was Ralph’s alter ego. Lucky enough to even find this lost piece of nostalgia is a blessing. I have him on a stand; the puppet is 31in., so freakin huge. Freaks out my friends but oh well!! Lol
My husband and I were watching a video that compared the FNaF games to the movie and I had little tidbits to add that weren't in the video. My husband asked if I had played the games and I told him no. He asked how I knew all of this random stuff and I just said "CZ is very thorough in research and presentation." (Thank you for the work you put into each and every video)
The way this guy breaks down stories is sensational I live every second of this video.
Mattpats coming for you, after years of horror histories tho I have a feeling you'll survive. God speed Cz
My son and I saw the movie yesterday and we LOVED it ❤
Well CZ here’s your medal you’ve done a great service to fnaf fans and horror fans as a whole
I would’ve never thought i would see CZ on the FNAF side of things?!! But this was a great clear cut explanation!!! Awesome work 👏🏾👏🏾
I love the William Afton era, it’s the one that my 8 year old horror-loving daughter is familiar with and it was such an awesome night this past weekend when I was finally home from work, all of us on the couch watching this movie and hearing her get excited about the different characters and treats spread throughout. I’ll take 4 more sequels please.
Excited to see you covering this series! I'm a lore fiend when I get interested in a series, and I knew there was some horror. But when I dived in, listened to the novels as audiobooks, I thought to myself 2 things: 1, this is for kids? And 2, my God, this is really dark horror. The wife and I watched the movie on Peacock, and as an avid gamer who knows how live action game movies usually end up crap? Blumhouse was faithful.
22:21 just watched the movie today and I just felt that I had to point out that SPOILER WARNING that was Mike Schmidt’s little sister, not his daughter but they still targeted her. Love you content as always!
You're taking a stab at something FNAF theorists can't agree on... a timeline for the franchise 😂
Saw the movie in theaters last night and really like it!
Ikr 😂
Yeah he probably should’ve included a disclaimer because of how much a lot of the info is debated.
His entering-the forbidden zone
He's giving a timeline for a specific character yet the character he is talking about isn't the same character. He appears to think every Freddy is possessed by the same soul.
Honestly out of everyone who has done breakdowns of the timeline yours and Wendigoons timelines are the best ones I’ve seen out there honestly 10/10 video c:
Do I know anything about Five Nights At Freddy's? Nope
Am I still going to watch CZ's Horror History timeline. Absolutely!
Oh yes! You are a life saver because I just came home from seeing this movie with my kids and I wanted to twist my ankle in the FNAF rabbit hole and didn't know where to look.
Wow it was my fav game i didn't know they made a movie, and the movie was amazing after watching it, but then I realized I want to know more about the backstory so i went to UA-cam and found your video and actually to be honest the way you explained was clearly well understanding!!
11:05 I believe the leading theory as to why Jeremy Fitzgerald doesn't return is because he is the victim of the bite of 87 where he returns to the pizzeria the following day of his last night shift, where he takes after William Afton as the new day shifter for the very last birthday party hosted within the pizzeria, and gets attacked by an animatronic. It's speculated that he dies on that day.
Well hopefully CZsworld would make more Horror History videos of the FNAF universe
I was wondering when you would arrive Mr. CZ, seems only yesterday that I watched your first vids.
As a fan of Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator and UCN I see this as a win
I loved this horror history. I knew CZ was going to cover FNAF at some point. CZ, if you're reading this, please do the history of Fazbear Entertainment and the history of William Afton.
This is awesome, MatPat and Scott Cawthon would be proud!!
I'm so happy that the movie releases today!!!!
Looks like MatPat has a new rival lol
The springlock suits were made in 1983 in fredbear's, and the toy animatronics had facial recognition instead. FNAF lore is so vast and debated though so it's easy to see newcomers say the lore wrong
The movie was such a fun theater experience. I absolutely loved it
First Art, now Freddy?
I've died and gone to heaven....
There’s a couple of things you got wrong but you did good enough job! The one thing everyone makes mistakes on is that Afton hid the bodies in the suit. It was the puppet that actually did that to give them life. Afton didn’t even bother to hide the bodies which is kinda even more screwed up to think about but the puppet actually accidentally helped Afton getting away with the murders.
Started watching these as a way to learn more about The Conjuring, kept watching all the new ones because they’re just so well done 🙏
I'm glad you mentioned Show-Biz Pizza Place. When I was a small child in the late 1980s, that was the brand of children's pizza restaurants that was in my part of the world (the Midwest), and I loved going there for birthday parties (my own and other kids'). I was absolutely devastated when the company executives (as both Show-Biz and Chuck E. Cheese's were owned by the same company by that point) decided to brand all of them as Chuck E. Cheese's in 1992. While I still somewhat enjoyed going there, as it was identical in most ways, it wasn't quite the same as all my memories and positive associations were with the Show-Biz characters.
I tip my hat at you sir! That was a fantastic job at making sense of the rats nest that is Freddy Fazbear. My son tried to explain it to me, and after maybe a minute I couldn't follow.
I love these types of vids with characters featured in creepypastas🎃
Even though Five Nights At Freddy's has creepypastas surrounding it, the franchise didn't start that way. It's a video game first.

Well, making the film about the first part of the story, while laying groundwork for future stories with lord drops, was the best move. Remember, the film had to also keep non-fans of the series, viewers who may not even realize the film was as based on a video game series, in mind.
