Excellent video! I suggest testing as you reassemble. After I put the new actuator on the lever to the long rod connecting the inner door handle was misplaced so you couldn't open the door from the inside of the car. My wife got a laugh when I called her from inside the car to open the door from outside so my large frame body didn't have to snake over to other door. I rewatched your video at 16:44, and had to do almost the entire job a second time to correct the problem. Also, as others have commented, the rod to the outer handle took more force to remove than I would have thought. My civic is a 2005 two door Ex Coupe. My doors are the same as yours and quite different from the four door sedan Civics.
I am having one hell of a time getting the rod out of the exterior door handle. I unlatched the rod holder clip that rotates off, but the rod WILL NOT pull out, almost like there is a C clip or something else retaining the rod in.... am I missing something? I've pulled about as hard as I can without breaking stuff. Any advice?
I had the exact same issue. There was no other retaining clip (Beyond the rotating retainer). I was worried I would break something too, but I just used a screw driver and really pushed via leverage... And it popped out.
Take the door panel off first so you can have better access to get your hands on the back side to remove the rod from the brown clip. It will not come all the way off but it will have just enough wiggle room to maneuver that rod off.
Hey bro ! I'm having problems with my copilot door lock maybe you can help me out solve it 🙏. I had the door replaced after a side collision, but for some reason now it won't lock when I activate the alarm, and when I desactivate it it locks. I checked the actuator and noticed that there's only one conector connected to it which is the 2 pin connector you think that might be the problem or is there something I'm missing. My door worked greats before I had the accident, but now I have that little detail. Can you please help me out , thank you. Blessings 🙏
Hi Jesus, I'm not 100% sure. My Civic only hand 1 plug with 2 wires. The power flows one way to lock and the other to unlock. So it sounds like your wires are crossed if its locking when its suppossed to unlock and visa versa. Thats where I would look first. Good luck
If it’s your key then most likely it could be your locks instead of the door actuator but I am not a mechanic so I’m not sure what your problem is just giving my input
Cos for me this type of video is in 3 parts! #1 dis-asessmbly of door trim ( without breaking anything) #2 diagnosing where the issue is/ what part is causing the problem #3 re-assembly of all working parts .

Ang galing salamat
Thank you bro! The video was very helpful. This was a much simpler repair than replacing the door handle. haha

Super late reply but I just used pliers to remove the white retaining piece and then pliers again to remove the metal rod.

I have a question why you didn't buy the all set beside disarm the black part
Good job thanks
grácias me sirvió mucho

so my car locks when i put the door handle up, but i cant open it from outside with the key… does this also solve the problem

Is this something that the average person can attempt?
