- I visited Nottingham on the 29.7.22 with the idea of capturing both Nottingham Football clubs by drone and then visiting a few stadiums on the way back home.
Here is my video of Meadow Lane Stadium, home of Notts County and I have shared some facts about the stadium and club too.
Its a magnificent stadium with a fantastic history set in a great location.
I hope you enjoy the video.

When Juventus opened their new stadium a few years back their first opponents were Notts County due to the connections you have already mentioned
A 1-1- draw was the result if I remember correctly.
IN 1903 up to then they played in pink and the then owner saw the kit and wanted it
It is in fact somewhat true mate: Juventus asked one of their team members, Englishman John Savage, if he had any contacts in England who could supply new shirts in a colour that would better withstand the elements. He had a friend who lived in Nottingham, who being a Notts County supporter, shipped out the black and white striped shirts to Turin.
How the mighty have fallen from their deserved place in football history. Maybe they can rise again.
Chesterfield fan here enjoyable video good ground that has kept it's character
Brilliant buddy & it’s true roll on Saturday first home game COYP 👍👍
Autumn 1981. Freezing my rocks off on what was an open terrace with about 20 other Evertonians. Graham Sharps first goal for Everton. Alan Ainscough got nobbled by their big donkey centre back. Killcline? Great memories.
The history in Nottinghamshire is incredible. Mansfield Town also has incredible history as do neighbors Derby County.
Class Videos. Thanks for sharing.
Wow incredibly story of this incredible never let us down love it thank mate Alan 👍👍
Respect
I love these videos Mister Drone.
Great to see my club from a differerent viewpoint. Thanks !
It is true why Juve play in back and white. And also while you were at forest. That is why arsenal play in red. Forest gave them their first kit.
Both kit stories are true. In fact, whenever Arsenal play Forest at home (Emerites), they always give Forest the choice of playing in their red strip rather than their away strip as a mark of respect and acknowledgement of the historical connection.
When Juventus opened their new stadium a few years ago, the first match played there was against Notts. It ended 1-1.
A couple of years ago Notts were in deep financial trouble. They were facing possible administration or even extinction. As a result they could not afford to pay for their new kits for the coming season. Juventus offered to return the favour and approached Addidas with a view to providing a kit for Notts. In the end, the contractual arrangements Notts had with Puma meant they couldn't proceed. However, Notts were bought by the current owners and things are much better now.
Juventus story is true, also Forest gifted arsenal there first kit, hence the red
Very true 👍🏾
Mr Drone,
If you want an idea, the 4 corners of leyton orient are apartments with fans watching the games from their balconies.
It rather unique
the Juventus shirt thing is spot on
It is all very much true 👍
Need Notts back in the league 🤞
And to add to the juventus/Notts kit history, Forest did the same for a team called Woolwich Arsenal, who incidentialy still play in Red/White 😉
If that Juventus story is true that is incredible!!
It’s part true, juventus used to play in pink (which is why they have pink away strips sometimes) but the colour used to fade out of the kits so they asked a contact named John savage who I think was from Nottingham and chose the Notts county colours for juventus to play in, atletico Madrid have a similar story with Southampton and their kits
Since they are not in the same league, I assume if you live in Nottingham that you can be a fan of both clubs? It would make for quite a day of football if both clubs ever play at home on the same day. Schedule one match for the afternoon and then walk a few yards for a late afternoon/early evening match. Don't know if they ever do that, but it would be fun.
Police won't allow two matches in one day & no, you have to choose between one club or the other. Preferably Notts.
Since moving to Nottingham, I want both clubs to do well, their success also supports the city.
@@wendypatrick6935 So what happens if you want to support both?
It really depends. There isn't much rivalry off the pitch between Notts County fans. Our rivalry isn't fueled by anything like politics or religion, just the location. Given that, you'll find that alot of Forest fans or Notts fans significant others, families, friends etc support the opposite clubs. If you ask a Forest fan their opinion on Notts, you'd probably get an answer of 'Yeah they're alright' or something on the lines of. Often, you'll see a couple of black and white shirts at the City Ground on match days, and this goes the other way where you'll also see red shirts at Meadow Lane which even helped us with the National League attendance. Record against Solihull Moors in the 2021/22 season. That being said, the fans usually stick to one club but we all have a soft spot for eachother.
The name of the Nottingham born player that played for Juventus was Tom Savage not John.
Another top video Nick 🍻
Very true ncfc come on you pies
It's true that notes County lent their football strips to juventus
Shame they’re now in the 5th tier. Are you doing all grounds? You should do the oldest international ground still in use. Let you work out which ground it is.
Yeah true
if you do stoke can you do port Vale? It is apparently the highest stadium in UK
As a Notts fan, always loved trips to Vale Park, proper ground proper fans! As for the highest ground, think it’s WBA? Great video though!
Highest league ground in England is West Brom at 168m. Vale Park is now 3rd, behind FGR. Was 4th until Boundary Park slipped into National League. Common quiz question !!
Should have got Trent Bridge Cricket ground in just 3 minutes walk from Forest
that is correct about juve
Notts County are situated IN the City of Nottingham ... Nottingham Forest are NOT ... hence the name of Forest.
Where's Terry's Timber ?🤣
Heading back to the north east?
No idea mate…. My mouth just moves quicker than my head sometimes 😂… I only noticed that when I was editing. Was wondering if anyone would pick up on it 👏
how did u take drone up in the area? it has 3 zones over the top?
It doesn’t
@@misterdroneuk dji fly app has 3 blue zones over all 3 grounds
@@lrr34x69 do you know what they mean?
You will probably find most sports stadiums have them. They are not FRZ’s
@@misterdroneuk its a authorisation zone what drone you flying?
Notts county are the oldest club and juv copied them the info is correct
Notts are the oldest PROFESSIONAL club I'm the world Sheffield hallam are reputabley the oldest football in extinction
Can i suggest you actually do some research before you do a video. trampling like a blind man over a clubs history is unbelievable.
Notts County are the worlds oldest professional league club (not one of)
Juventus play in Black and White because Juventus used to play in pink (in those days the dyes washed out) and they were due to play a game and realised they couldn't play in off-white, someone from Nottingham happened to be around and suggested Notts might be able to send kit across at short notice. The legend was born
Notts County's most famous player was Tommy Lawton who played for England captain at the time. He moved from Chelsea to play 3rd division football
Suggest whatever you want mate 👍🏻
