I was feeling nostalgic for the early days of Hercules Candies on UA-cam. It’s crazy to go back and see when it was just Steve, Max, and Terry in the tiny basement. They all look like giants! Max wasn’t even making much candy yet. I’m so happy for the success of this family and their company. They bring joy to so many of us UA-camians. Wish them all the best heading into 2020. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

For many years now I've made hard candy at home, I tend to make a lot during Christmas time (much smaller batches than yours). I make all different kinds of flavors. (I also use LorAnn's flavors, they have the best variety). I have to say out of all of them, for me CINNAMON is the worst! I absolutely love cinnamon, but the vapors it puts out are volatile! Just made a batch a couple days ago and it sent me in a coughing fit and every pore on my face felt like it was on fire! It even woke my husband out of a dead sleep,he got up and shut the door Lol.

Ribbon candy (the spice assortment) has always been one of my favorites.
It is really cool to see you making this by hand - especially the pulling and ribboning (is that a word?) of the candy.
This video took me back in time to Hamden Ct, when my Noni would make fried dough for us. She had a gas stove set-up in the basement and a huge cast iron pan. It was the best! We would top it with powdered sugar or sauce!

This is my favorite video so far. My favorite color is green and the colors of the candy as it's pulled out is so beautiful. To pretty to eat. 💟💟💟

It would be cool to see how they work the very tail end of the batch. Does it get too cool to pull at some point? Or does it just all get stretched into ribbon candy?

It would be awesome if you guys had a little mini work station so people can try to make it from scratch or like a class and you guys could charge for all the materials.

I'm all for private enterprise, but when was the last time the local health inspector paid a visit to this place? Those overhead lights look really grotty, and unprotected electrical wires are dangling all over the place.

hello from the Missouri Ozarks! i just found your channel today. i am having a good time watching your videos. i think it is really neat that you still make your candy by hand. i also enjoy listening to the friendly banter while you make your delicious candy. it is rare to see a mom & pop business be so successful. keep up the good work & don't let the negative remarks get you down.☺👍👏. blessings to you & your family.

Wow I've never noticed the steam coming up after you poured the candy on the marble. Very cool!
