  • In this video I trace various strands of evidence pointing to the ancient origins of the wisdom and universal cosmic laws that are encapsulated by the Enneagram symbol as Gurdjieff taught it. This is a precursor to the Fourth Way Enneagram course that is being hosted by the Edinburgh International Centre for Spirituality and Peace (EICSP) In my next video I will be tracing the origins of ancient wisdom that were incorporated into the modern Enneagram of Personalities. .

Different energies and intelligences enter us and work through us via angles. This spiritual geometry is represented in our physical spaces.

The original numbers before calculating the digital root are actually frequencies. for eg: 528, 741,111,432 and so on.

Anyone out there searching for the understanding of the Enneagram that I suggest to study “in search of the miraculous”.
For further understanding, approach the Gurdjieff ( Georgiadis he’s real name being Greek ) foundation, and hopefully through time can participate in the movements so you can feel it is your bones the meaning of the Enneagram.

Indeed, I have read and digested this, as well as Gurdjieff's 'Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson. I share an extensive bibliography with those who participated in my course. But, there is always more to learn.

It's a symbol for self development within vortex based math. Other symbols are also within this old math. It's called an I diagram. When you have a moment of awakening you work through the pathway mapped out and "eat the self" also known as the snake (within) eating itself!😂
      Freakin reptiles!!

I really enjoyed this approach to the enneagram. Most people who are introduced to the personality types and the enneagram have little to no knowledge of how this symbol was originally used.

Do we know why fear and anger were removed from the list when developing the seven deadly sins? That almost seems intentional. Those two things are probably worse beyond anything else to get you out of the present moment and God's grace. You can even quote Star Wars - when Yoda says fear leads to the dark side. Fear and anger are extremely dangerousto get you off of the Mark

Hi! Sorry for slow response. I am just catching up with comments on various videos. I do not know why fear and anger were not included in the final list of the 'seven deadly sins'. They are two of the three core emotions of the three core types of personality, the other being sadness, which is also not mentioned. But these are not the passions per se. Each of the centres of intelligence have three variations of the main core emotion. It is these that are the passions that drive the behaviours of each type.

@@kenwebb thank you. I appreciate your video. I have been reading Evagrius and John Cassian.
I find their idea of demons interesting. I think we have totally misconstrued what they were talking about. Growing up you often heard people in the church say that someone was demon possessed. In Greek, DAEMON referred to an outside force. It seems like Evagrius was very logical in describing things that are not in our nature as an outside force. For example, greed, or lust. It seems in line with ancient traditions where you personify a force, like the god of thunder, etc. it makes me think of how in the Bible, I once read the word Satan was used over 400 times and half of the time it didn't mean a person, but an adversary. The way they describe demons as something unnatural and a force that we struggle outside of ourselves, something from the world that we learned, makes it much less easy to dismiss asnonsense and superstition

Aside from the book on Chartres Cathedral by my friend Gordon Strachan, there were many that informed me. Andreas Erbert's contribution to a book by Richard Rhor entitled: The Eneagram, a Christian Perspective. The works of G.I Grudjieff, P.D. Ouspenskey, J G Bennet (two of Gurdjieff's disciples), Beatrice Chestnut's 'The Complete Enneagram' explores the connection to the Odyssey. I also attended a day conference hosted by Beatrice Chestnut and Uranion Paes that looked at origins in the work of Hermes Trismigistus' 'Corus Hermeticum' circa 3,000 B.C.E. , Ramon Lull (1232-1316) , Iranian Sufi philosopher Yahya Suhrawardi (12th C), and Althansius Kirker (1602-1680). There were others that I cannot remember off hand. I was not setting out to present an academic paper, which is what this really needs. Maybe you have more information.

This may be why the Sumerians were absolutely certain there were nine planets. Completeness. And we can prove this is true. But neither can we absolutely absolutely prove it is not true.

Quite right. See my videos introducing the ideas of the Fourth Way Enneagram, based on the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff and P.D. Ouspensky. The content of the course I have online is found in the Events page of the Edinburgh International Center for Spirituality and Peace.

He sacrificed himself, by walking into the Wolves den and Broke them
He reduced them to a gibbering mess
