Hey, Spencer, great video, man!! I used to think a steam train was coming when I would hear the whistle from the speakers at a crossing!! Thanks for the post! :)
Like seriously, I would just blow the horn anyway regardless of the consequences. What that should tell these quiet zone crybabies is that they need to GROW UP and respect the work that the railroad is doing, if trains can't use their horns then they can't guarantee that trespassers will not trespass and people will not trot through or around crossing gates. Horns = Yes noise but safety. Thanks for sharing Spencer!!!!
No problem with Fire trucks blasting their sirens going to chase behind an Ambulance for no reason, but how dare a Train use it's horn. The public are so stupid!
FUN FACT: Apparently, UP doesn't endorse quiet zones. This information was gathered from a Portland area news agency which covered an expansion of a quiet zone already in place.
Wow...if people get killed with actual train horns blowing, what makes anyone think the sound of the 3751 coming through a speaker is going to save anyone? Oh yeah, saving lives isn't what the neighbors care about (who knowingly rented/purchased a home close to a busy railroad right of way)...cutting down on the noise is. This is a great video though. Second to Guilford, I love the Surfline. The drone shots are beautiful.
I was down in San Clemente at the end of May thinking the QZ had already been activated, but luckily got some footage with the horns going. That being said these wayside "horns" do sound better than most, I mean the 3751 whistle doesn't even sound bad and I'll take it any day over those awful Metrolink K2's...

1:26 it's likes Indonesian rail crossing beach in Pekalongan, Center Java province although in Indonesia is tropical natures panorama, keep going always friends.... 😂💪💪💪👏
I can see a quiet zone in a large metropolitan area, but along a beech. Come on. There are kids and adults who would just run under those gates right into a train.
Maybe beachgoers don't wanna hear horns constantly blasting because how could they enjoy their time at the beach that way? First the beach goers enjoy sunbathing or swimming when all of a sudden a train horn honks like a billion times. I see your point though. 😊
Very nice videos! I love the the smooth fluid like panning from tripod. What brand/model tripod are you using? Are you using a SLR camera for tripod shots. I would love to know the equipment specs.
as a kid i grew up watching trains there, and hearing that loud horn made it that much more memorable. now i am older and a rancher in Mississippi, i never get to see & hear those K5LAs :( ps: be very carful with those drones, i went to school for UAS engineering and the FAA is a complete butt hole about using them for anything.... great shots tho ;)
BOOOO! These "no blow" zones are dangerous. The tracks were there before these people bought and built their houses and condos next to the rail line. I am not a fan of the wayside horns. Sorry.
jhrvta People complain about anything anyways, it’s ALL about what MAKES THEM HAPPY BUT WHEN THEY DIE THEY BLAME IT ON THE TRAIN CONDUCTORS FOR NOT PAYING ATTENTION. WELL HOW ABOUT FOR YOU ALL NOT PAYING ATTENTION...... IF YOU ALL DON’T HEAR THE HORNS ANYMORE, THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS SEE THE LIGHTS LIT UP THE TRACKS FROM THE TRAIN..... NOW IF YOU’RE DEAF & BLIND YOU SHOULD STAY INDOORS PRIOR TO SUNDOWN.
That's 3751's whistle ! Sounds like the cross between a steam engine whistle and a cow. That thing is more annoying than the train horns. How much did that cost the taxpayers ?
+spencerhuges2255 or if 1 or both ditch lights are out. FRA requires that if 1 or both ditchlights are out, no matter where they are, they have to sound the horn at every crossing.
Nathan "p2s" on metrolink has the p#2 and 3 bells. They are run by air. When the engineer quills the horn ( doesn't open the air valve all the way) the lower sounding bell sounds first. The bell is a trumpet. So if the engineer opens the air valve half way, the p#2 bell would sound, making that sound.
Thank you for posting these videos. This one is my kid’s favorite!! We watch it daily.
These days are no longer! A few days ago, the no-horn zones at San Clemente have been lifted!
I love going to that beach and watching the trains go by!

Excellent video. Love the drone shots, night time, & the engineer hanging out the train around 5:22.
Really nice video. The drone shots along the coast are stunning!
1:22 was my favorite shot. Love that drone scene on 202! She is one of my favorites!
I just discovered your channel. Great stuff. I can't wait to play this on the home theater system.

no quiet zone = more danger
@@dfp383 actually, you're more likely to get hit if you don't hear the train coming
I love your train videos! Keep it up!
How is this going to help? People still tresspass there AND you can see them walking under the gates.

If You tresspass then you freaking die
*that has a nice ring to it*
nice drone shots
I love how most of the trains are blowing the horn past the waysides, Lol!!
They activated the waysides on the last day of train horns. June 24th.
Have you seen one of the new tier 4 metrolink locomotives yet?
Horns are back in San Clemente

Nice drone work bud!
I was wondering where that whistle of 3751 was coming from. A great video with beautiful drone and trackside shots. I am extremely impressed.

Amtrak 505 they're taking away the horns because they're liberal retards.

Sounds Like a steam train
7:29 I've heard of this horn in train sim
On the second train, why didn't the railroad crossing turn on?
It`s on, take a look ;)
Oh my bad
Seems like people understand the wayside horn pretty well; I'm seeing a lot of people not waiting and trespassing.

Learn to spell idiot
Back in 2016 BNSF engines leading a metrolink train was common
Did anyone else hear the steam train horn?

Excellent job! I have cousins that live in San Clemente. Did you film any of this using a drone?
So sad seeing BNSF pulling the Metrolink.
I know. I miss the rotem cab car's horn
My point is that one of the engines got destroyed and I think (don't remember) if the engineer died.
lol San Clemente is the city where I live here in Italy

What do u mean last horn days
Read the description.
It means they can't honk their horns on a specific day
+Fuzion Kodak They can't blow their horns ever again. Unless engineers see danger.
